Awesome chicken & food. I like going to the 32nd Street location because the chicken has a better taste, the chicken from 68th Street is a little too salty. But can’t complain, I loce Johns Chicken.

Great customer service. Ordered from here for a holiday meeting for a few people. I asked for the food to be ready around 5:30pm, so all I had to do was pick it up on my way to the meeting. We paid in advance and upon arrival the food was ready to go out the door. I ordered 3 rotisserie chickens and their recommended mixed salad. Everyone at the meeting loved their food. The gentleman Wellington was extremely nice and helpful and will return to eat their meals and or order for an event.

Rarely do I walk into a place and feel at home. Very rare but despite its name, I feel right at home. The familiar aromas of my mama’s cooking filled my nostrils. Fried chicken? I’ll pass on the fried but the rotisserie chicken was bangin’! Full of flavor and a pleasant change from bland chicken I’ve tasted elsewhere. To be honest, I’m not quite sure of the prices here. I didn’t even bother looking at the menu which in retrospect I realize I should’ve done to get my best bang for my buck but for $ 15 we left with a doggy bag and full beyond belief. we got a combo of ½ chicken with white rice & black beans. We also got pernil(roasted pork), arroz con gandules(yellow rice w pigeon peas) and some yuca. Yes– we were STARVING. And although the cuero(skin) wasn’t crispy enough, everything was AMAZING! Great seasoning, textures and I felt like it was thanksgiving dinner at my mama’s house(sans the turkey). I can attest that they barely speak English here as I had to do all the ordering. My lover doesn’t speak Spanish! But all worked out and we stuffed our faces with delicious Latin food chatting away with happy faces and smiles! Awesome spot with delicious food!

The rotisserie chicken is much better than the fried. They are also very generous with the portions and give you lots for a really good price. The service could be better but I don’t demand a lot from a place like this. I mostly take out.

Horrible service. While the food is good it’s not worth waiting 20 minutes after placing a pickup order to be treated like you don’t exist trying to get someone to actually give it to you.

This place never disappoints. I used to go here while I worked in the Hudson County area. First time eating here in about 2 years and it’s still great. This place would be a perfect 5 stars if it had a bigger dining area. Feels a bit crammed when it’s busy. Especially when there are workers walking back and forth. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints about this place. The food is the closest thing to my mother’s cooking. Everything from the different types of rice to the pernil… I agree that the name is awful. Would never step into this place thinking it was much much more than a chicken shack.

The only thing that sucks about this joint is the name. The rotisserie chicken is so yummy… one of the best. I always order it with yellow rice and potato salad and I get food there at least once a week. I heard it’s rough if your spanish sucks like mine, so I always send someone that knows spanish to order for me :)

This chicken is so good. I like the rotisserie way better but the fried chicken. The prices are great. The side typical fair, but good rice and beans. Try some of their other dishes too. pepper steak anyone.

Chicken is the best in town! Don’t get confused by the name… The rotisserie chicken is the best… Haven’t really tried the fried chicken but I bet it’s pretty good cause my friend always gets it… Price is good and taste also… But be prepared to wait at least 5 to 10 min before you can actually eat because the place gets packed at peak hours… But it’s definitely worth the wait if your in the mood for some good Latin food!

Seriously, you’re complaining about the staff not speaking English. It’s about the food, and the food is awesome. I came for fried chicken and damn-it it is good fried chicken. The breading is not too thick, just a bit of heat and moist and tasty. Had all kinds of awesome sides to go with: rice and beans, sweet plantains, tasty pig bits(ok not a side but eat it anyway). Yes some staff could not speak english, but the manager stepped in, took great care of us. In this case I think the language gap is my problem, not theirs and if they gave you a hard time you deserved it for being a dick. We will be back, and back!

My significant other and I got food to take out about a week ago. I was very pleased with the service, price, and food. I had the rotisserie chicken with arroz Moro and mangu on the side. I highly recommend all of these items. Flan for dessert was yummy. My bf had a beef dish with white rice which he said was very good. He also had a piece of tres leches cake for dessert, SOGOOD. The man that helped us was accommodating and spoke both English and Spanish fluently. He prepared all of the food with gloves on and removed them before ringing us up. All this and my bill was less than $ 20. I had a great experience and can’t wait to go back.

Good food and even better prices. I usually fall into a food como after stuffing my face at John’s. You probably wanna take your food to go though because its not the nicest place to sit and eat at

The rotisserie chicken with rice is pretty good but it’s really hard to place an order if you don’t speak Spanish. The place also gets very crowded so there isn’t a lot of places to sit.

This is a place where you’ll buy $ 15 worth of food and probably get to feed the whole family… I love this place, By any way shape or form its a not a restaurant, but you can have a seat and eat but its preffered to take out… Its a spot that serves typical dominican food — White Rice, Moro, Yuca, Habichula, Carne Guisao, Pernil, Tostones, Platano Frito. Name it and its there… Love this joint, makes a spanish dude feel right at home

The food and prices are excellent. Hard to beat, but what I’m having a hard time with is the time. The time it takes to serve you, you’ll be waiting a while. A lot of times, you’ll see a long line, and it’s because the people serving seem oblivious to the fact. I absolutely hate the set up, its a pain in the ass. They need to come up with a better system to get the customer what they want in a timely fashion. Usually they are dragging there feet and seem like they don’t want to be there. If I see a line I usually go elsewhere. Tip for the workers here: Hurry it up! Edit: God damn this place is slow. Knocked it down another star for sub par service. The food is already cooked I don’t see what’s the hold up!

The best Rotisserie chicken around! The chicken is a big one for $ 9. They cut it up for you and put marinated red onions on top. It’s amazing! I have never had the fried chicken but that looks good. The sides are ok… I like white rice with black beans on the side. If Spanish is not your primary language(my problem) ordering can be a bit difficult, but it is so worth it!

I tried this place last night after pretty much everyone I know around here raved about it. There was a long line almost out the door so that is always a good sign. Don’t let the name fool you barely anyone orders fried chicken here it’s all about the rotisserie. It’s set up cafeteria style so you order your chicken(in this case I got a half chicken combo) and you get a side and half a chicken for $ 6. a whole chicken by itself is $ 9, two half chicken combos was $ 12 which is a good deal in my opinion. The food was ok although the skin is very salty for my taste, the rice and black beans were kind of dry but we did go at 8:30pm so I guess they had been sitting a bit, the salads(shrimp, potato, crab) in the case looked like they’d been sitting a whole too, although I will say my boyfriend got yellow rice and pigeon peas and that was quite moist. We definitely have a lot of leftovers as the portions are huge. The only negative thing I can say is the place was not as clean as I would have liked, tables were dirty as well as the floor but it’s pretty much a storefront set up with tables and chairs not a fine dining establishment by any means. I’d go back… for take out.

The chicken is fantastic. The staff should improve in speaking English and a bit more customer service. but I would go back and just keep pointing at what I want to order. the food was that good.

The name is deceiving since they do have a lot more than just fried chicken. They have roasted chicken, rice, fried rice, beans and salads and the portions are over sized so you won’t spend a lot of cash. There are a few tables to eat in so it is best to take out. They do not take credit cards but do have a ATM on-site. The food is good and a great value for the money.
