Hung Sang

This place makes very good standard «chinese» food. Nothing spectacular about the inside but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food wasn’t overly cooked/​salty/​greasy. The wait was a little long but totally worth it considering they make the food fresh.

Hung Sang is by far the best Chinese takeout in the entire north Hudson county area. This is a family owned and run restaurant that puts love into their food. I’ve had many of their veggie dishes but my favorite is the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. I also love their veggie Spring Rolls which are fried to perfection; golden and crispy. In addition, their delivery guy is always on time and very courteous.

The boyfriend and I had a craving for chinese take out tonight to go along with out Walking Dead series finale.
We decided to try this place, as it’s under new management abd has a new name. My bf always gets the same thing when we order Chinese: Boneless bbq spare ribs, a side of pork lomein, fried wontons, and an egg roll. I wanted to try something new. I ordered the lemon chicken, not expecting anything other than poorly seasoned chicken and a splash of lemon on top. I was wrong.
The spare ribs actually tasted fresh (rare for chinese food), the egg roll tasted like a classic egg roll, and the fried wontons… let me rant about this for a second. Usually fried wontons come with mostly wonton wrap, very little meat, and the wonton itself is usually just hard as a rock. These that we got were light, stuffed, and less greasy than normal. AMAZING. My bf didn’t get his lomein, they accidentally gave him pork fried rice, honest mistake, but the fried rice was tastey.
Now for my lemon chicken. For a dish that I’ve never had, I wasn’t expecting much, and I have nothing to compare it to anyways. All i know is they gave me a large container filled with delicious, juicy fried chicken and slices of fresh lemon covering the top, along with the chicken was a side of thick, yellow, sweet, lemony sauce with fresh lemon in it as well. So. Stinkin. Delicious. I was plabning on only eating part of it, and making myself a salad on the side, but it was so good that I just ended up eating the whole entrée and no salad haha.
I can’t wait to go here again!
