De Palma Pizzeria & Ristorante

Ugh… DePalma, I want to love you but you won’t let me. My last three delivery orders were a complete clusterfu*k. No dressing for my salad, no condiments that I specifically ordered, no mayo and onions when I specifically WROTE DOWN mayo and onions. The meal I ordered today (½ sandwich and fries) is miserable I can’t enjoy it because it just isn’t made they way I ordered it + the fries taste like they were fried in old chicken grease. The only thing you’re doing right is the Tiramisu — I’d eat that everyday. I’m not a complainer but they forced my typing hand and I would recommend if you’re going to order from DePalma you have to clarify multiple times so that you’re order is made right.

Great food! No complaints about that but my last order took an hour and half to deliver. :(. If they could work on that, they would be my go to Italian place when I’m too busy to cook.

Great pizza and great people! They do get busy but they do a great job and are incredibly friendly! Great pizza pies!

Ever since moving to union city I’ve had such a hard time finding good pizza in the area until I came across de Palma! I order a regular pie once a week, and it’s always hot & delicious ! Delivery is always under 45 minutes too!

This is by far the worst place ever HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Service I’ve called 3 times for the same order and the same order was not right at all I also called twice to make sure they didn’t forget and can possibly get it right just once but no. I feel like they think they don’t have to get no one order right cause they gonna make money at the end of the day and sooner or later it will catch up on them. Del Palma is pure garbage my last and final time and as for my family and friends.

It is the only pizza my finicky 4 year old will reliably eat at. We eat there several times a week — though, admittedly, they do get busy. The staff is AMAZING, friendly and work hard to get it right. Best pizza in UC :)

As you can see, I do not normally leave a bad review for anywhere. …but was very disappointed with the pie I ordered. Came in and sat down (2 people) ordered a x large pie with 4 toppings well done, salad. Did take 40 mins to get fod though it is a Saturday nite, so I can see it taking longer. Came here on a recommendation with seeing 3.5 stars… I figured how bad can it be… after all, we are in North Jersey. …well I ate 1 slice… doused it in garlic powder along with oregano. …after still had no taste at all. The crust was cooked well done the way I asked it to be so all was good there… but nevertheless pie had no taste. I quietly asked to speak to someone, and they did agree to not charge me for the pie. I insisted on paying for the drinks and salad. First time I have walked out of anywhere in years. Sorry… hope it was just a bad nite.

Good pizza, great calzones and amazing lasagna. Nice family place. Prices are good and staff is friendly. They deliver which is an awesome alternative.

I dont know why but everytime i visit this place i have a bad experience. They take forever to serve you or they forget about your order and remeber an hour later.
I order a pie and some garlic knots for delivery today and they took about an hour and a half to deliver and the food was cold and chewy.

Great pasta dishes especially the shrimp scampi and veal marsala, so so pizza though just on the mediocre side. Calzones are so-​so too

The best pizza and a great variety of other options. If we didn’t have DePalma I have no idea what we’d eat at least twice per week.

Best pizza in Union City without a doubt. I’ve also had their chicken salad and pasta e fagioli soup which are both delicious.

My main complain is there time to deliver. We have ordered from there twice so far and both times it took an hour and a half for the food to be delivered. The last we ordered two salads and a sandwich. And we are only a few blocks away. They offered to issue us a credit but its pretty ridiculous. By the time the food made it to my house it was stone cold, soggy, and nasty.

We really keep trying to give this place chances and we are never impressed.
Union City is short for good pizzerias. De Palma is a mainstay here and it’s walking distance… But it is just lacking.
First of all, $ 20+ for a 3 topping pie, and the toppings are skimpy to say the least. The flavor is decent, and it could be passable if not for the rock solid and powdery crust that essentially solidifies moments after you open the box.
The service is always extremely rude or completely indifferent. It really gives the impression that business means zero to this staff.
Once I ordered chicken fingers which on the menu state they come with honey mustard (isn’t that pretty standard?) after waiting forever (I live 4 blocks away) the delivery arrives with no sauces. We walk back to the pizzeria (defeating the purpose of the delivery) only to be CHARGED for the sauces and told they don’t come complimentary. I showed the girl working a screen shot of their own menu stating «with honey mustard» and guess what– we still had to pay.
Don’t bother with this place unless you’re starving and nothing else is open.

Best Italian food in Union City! Their pizza is fabulous never cheap with toppings and their pasta dishes are the best around I have had several their chicken Francese is more creamy and less lemony than I’d like, but that’s not even a complaint just my pallete, beef ravioli parm is great and nice and cheesey, soups are homemade I’ve ordered out and dined in many many times and never had a disappointment or complaint. Keep up the great work guys!

Great pizzeria and Italian food. Prices aren’t too bad.
Pizza is always good. Soups are awesome.
The hot food and sandwiches are a great deal. The wait for them can be a bit long and the seating is very limited.
Either way, a gem in Union City.

Excellent pizza and soup. My picky 4 year old gave thumbs up. I ordered and came within 40minutes as promised and everything was Hot. So glad I found this excellent pizza place in union city. I asked for pizza plain with pepper or orengo, no problem. Delicious cheesy pizza!

The pizza here has a mediocre taste and is kind of pricey for what your getting. My biggest complaint about the pies from here are that every and any pie i have ever bought the crust is completely covered in flour and makes it very gross to eat pizza with raw flour on it. I have had every type of pie they offer and their white pie they barely put any ricotta cheese which is kind of a rip off. If i had to eat there i would highly recommend their pasta dishes it is the only thing they sell that i find at a reasonable price and pretty good

I just received my order and the food was awful.
I had the brucette which tasted like watery tomatoes and cheese. I ordered a shrimp alfredo with penne and sun dried tomatoes. The penne was over cooked mushy the shrimp was rubbery and the sauce tasted like pure cream.
I also ordered a baked ziti with chicken parm. The dish tasted like raw ziti with marinara and rubbery chicken. Chicken was very thin and hard to cut like if it was microwaved. First and last time. I will be sure to pass my experience with everyone I know.
To top it off the driver was rude.
