Other restaurants were unavailable. But this one surprised us. Food was excellent. Very good service. We had a small complaint and within minutes the manager was at the table with a «5 start attitude and solved the problem»

Enchiladas are sauce-less even though menu describes 2 red sauces on top… like typical enchiladas. Service was terrible. Had to get up and wave anyone down to refill drinks. Definitely don’t recommend. Too many options at Mohegan to eat here again.

The food is decent but more of a quality you would expect at a chain Mexican food restaurant like Shorty’s, Plaza Azteca, etc. This would be fine if the prices weren’t so ridiculously high compared to other restaurants of similar quality. My wife and I went with our daughter. Unfortunately for us, they do not have any children’s booster seats so my wife and I had to constantly hand her off throughout our dinner. Our app was tasty but very small and pricey. Entrees were decent sized and generally good but the meat in both mine and my wife’s meals seemed to be of low quality(not particularly tender or moist) so I’m not sure if it was reheated or what could account for the odd texture and taste. The service was great. Very friendly host and waitress — who both apologized for not having appropriate seating for our little one. All in all the food is acceptable but vastly overpriced. We went here expecting more due to the higher prices and generally good reviews but ended up feeling like we overpaid for a wholly non-unique experience.

This place blew me away, I was a little iffy about it because some of the pictures didn’t look too appetizing. We arrived to our reservation 30 minutes late and they had no problems sitting us right away even with the delay. The waitress took our drink orders and soon the beef nachos arrived. It was better than expected, their nachos were nice and crispy just the way I like them, they didn’t have a large option of drinks so I got the frozen margarita of the day and it tasted just as the ones from 5 Burros, made me feel like I was home back in Queens. Every one got different plates and there was no complaints from our party of 8. I got the steak fajita which was cooked to perfection and very tasty but my mistake was leaving the steak in the dish for far too long because it over cooked my medium rare steak to well done and by then my poor steak was dry as a cardboard :(. Lesson learned. The last time I was at Mohegan Sun was about 6 — 7 years ago, hopefully my next visit won’t be so far apart but if I do ever come back in the near future I will definitely return to SolToro.

1st visit– Fish tacos were excellent. 2nd visit– the salmon was incredible, cooked perfect. Everyone else in my party of 8 was very happy with their meals. The chips and salsa are bomb. The special desert with bourbon sauce was the best desert I’ve ever had. It was like having cheese cake out of a waffle cone. Last year my wife had to leave a bad review but it was ONLY because of the waitress being very rude, which the GM Johnny H made up for. She is now gone. Our waitress this time, Elizabeth, was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

I love this place! Always my first choice restaurant when I go to Mohegan! The big Texan tacos are my favorite and the chicken nachos!

So gross, save your time and money and go out somewhere in New London or Mystic for dinner. They couldn’t even make a margarita the right way!

We started with the table side quac which was excellent. I got the fried chicken tacos which were awful! I usually don’t send food back but the chicken tasted like it had been dipped in artificial sweetener. The waitress took them off the bill and commented that they had been thinking about removing them from the menu. I suggest they do more than think about it.

This is one of my fav restaurants at Mohegan Sun. It is somewhat hidden and not on the main drag of restaurants in the casino area. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. My bestie and myself ordered two skinny margaritas that are not on the menu, however you can ask. We ate at the bar. It was a relaxed environment. We watched other people getting prepared homemade guacamole at their tables. We shared the chicken tacos which were served with rice and black beans. The food was light and not greasy. Pros: amazing chips and salsa before your meal. Cons: This place fills up fast around dinner time. I like going there for a nice lunch.

It’s late night on a weekday. Place has two other tables with customers. Service was speedy and positive. Waitress was nice. Drinks were pretty good. Chips and guacamole were good(but super small portion). Dinner was mediocre(ribs) and extremely overpriced. In total we had 3 alcoholic beverages, an app(as dinner for one in our party) a soda, two dinners a brownie and a teenie tiny flan… $ 123. Just no. To make matters worse the«warm brownie» which came out hard and cold, with whip cream that tasted putrid and curdled with a very bad after taste, almost made me toss my cookies at the table. Upon telling the waitress she was very quick to take it off the bill but then went in back and stated she tried it and it tastes fine. Everyone at the table tried the whip cream because we couldn’t believe it… And everyone had the same response. Warm, nasty, bitter curdled tasting. Good lord, dry heaving after your meal is not fun and being told repeatedly by the waitress that it tasted fine in back and made fresh and refrigerated and and and… No. I would only come here for a drink and chips… Would Not order from here again.

I was actually hesitant to come here based on the negative reviews I read prior to the visit. I am glad we decided to eat here because my boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals. The host was friendly and so was our waitress. We had some questions about the different tequila on the menu and she explained everything. We ordered chicken quesadilla grande and chicken enchilada suizas. For drinks we had sangria and margaritas. It was not that busy so that was a plus. I do understand when it’s crazy busy you might be waiting for things(I don’t work in the restaurant business but I do work in customer service) If you expect to be waited on hand and foot, don’t go out to eat on the weekend… that’s a no-brainer. I will definitely come back to eat here again next time we are at Mohegan Sun again.

We went to Sol Toro this past weekend to celebrate my hubby’s 40th. I was very pleased. The service was very good. Our server forgot one or two drink requests but hey the place was bumpin and we were a big table. We started with the table side guac which was so amazing! We also had the mini chicken roll ups which were equally amazing! For my dinner I opted for the mini tacos and they allowed me to get pulled chicken in it which was phenomenal! It came with rice and beans and both were stellar! I really loved this place and it would probably be my first choice to dine when back at Mohegan Sun. Ps. When they found out it was hubby’s birthday they brought out a complimentary dessert with a candle in it. Score!!!

Great place for dinner. The chips in the pail they give you are so delicious. I wish I had known about the fresh guacamole they make right at your table or I would have ordered that. The tables and chairs are really high so you feel like you’re 5 years old sitting at the table, lol. I almost sat on a pillow to make it better.

Went her over a year ago and wasn’t too impressed but decided to give it another try on our recent visit this past Monday. Host was very warm and inviting. Waitress was ok but I did have to wait a lonnnng time for a water refill… To the point where I was sipping from my kids glass. Empanadas app– 2 little empanadas for $ 9 … Cut in half? Not worth it… And they had an off putting smell. Grilled chicken tacos waitress recommended were just ok. Salsa was great! Food took quite a long time to come out considering there weren’t many people…

Only went for drinks, my girlfriend and I both enjoyed ours. She got a frozen drink that she said was delicious, and I had the bartender make me whatever you would call an Old Fashioned with tequila instead of bourbon. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about what brand and type of tequila to use, and I was pretty happy with my selection. We got some chips and salsa for free, which is a nice gesture at a place that I wouldn’t have been surprised if they charged about $ 8 for. The décor inside was fitting for its Mexican theme without coming off as too hokey or cheesy. Overall, nice place with a cool vibe, I’d check it out again next time I’m at Mohegan!

Went in for quick dinner for a bachelorette party, there was only about 6 of us. We ordered the guac app and I have to say it was pretty awesome. We were there when there was a high priced UFC fight being televised, so needless to say it was pretty busy. We waited a while for our food but what we did get was decent. Our waitress was polite and nice, but just awkward. LOL. also the cart for the fresh guac was awkward to say the least– they rolled up behind me, blocking me in, instead of doing it at the end of the table… over all just OK.

This place was all aesthetics. The restaurant itself had great décor, that’s what lured us in but I wish I kept walking by. We sat at the bar and I will say the bartenders were super friendly. I ordered their version of a john daily and it tasted like water downed whiskey. They offered to put more lemonade in it but there was no helping this drink at this point. We both ordered the grilled tacos. Disgusting. I could make better tacos using an El Paso kit from the grocery store. The tortillas were about a half an inch thick and were cold, rubbery, and reminded me of an old persons fingers after taking a long bath. The chicken was about as flavorful if it came from a sketchy high school cafeteria and had the same consistency as frozen Tyson grilled chicken(which isn’t good). The rice was so so and the black beans were pretty standard. Nothing was really hot or had seasoning. It seems like this place had so much potential but unfortunately we won’t be back!

Truth disclaimer. This was our second visit. The GM contacted me after the last lackluster review and offered a gift certificate in hopes of making amends for the previous experience. And, we did not make that known to the wait staff until time for the bill to prevent it influencing how they behaved. I remained very skeptical based on the last experience and subsequent string of bad reviews on Unilocal. However, this visit was greatly improved. Judging from other peer reviews, the SoloToro hit a slump for the first half of this year in many areas. This visit, our waitress was much more friendly, making sound suggestions for menu and drink highlights. One of our major complaints last time was the tasteless food, bland enough for Mexican night at the old age home. Ad the GM promised, the menu had been completely revamped. We made our selections, enjoying a couple rounds while waiting on the entrees. The chef in our party, particularly hard to impress, admitted this visit his food was tasty and well prepared. I opted on fish tacos. While not up to baja standard, it was a suitable substitute. Oh I forgot the guac. Last time it was as tasteless as wall paper paste and they didn’t even have chilis to offer in spicing it up. This time, it tasted fresh, as were the chips, and they got the heat about right for hot and spicy guac. Our entrees came in a reasonable time with only one minor error… someone wanted the beans on a separate plate and they were not. No Big Deal Barry, scrape them over :) So with the update I move them to three stars. The menu is still a bit pricey in my opinion, even after factoring in this isn’t Vegas. Considering another attempt in a couple months on a return trip and we’ll see if they can sustain. If so, maybe another star.

My brother and I came in on a Friday night for our first(and probably last) visit to SolToro. No lines, no waiting i was pretty excited since i hadn’t eaten the majority of the day. They sat us at the table to the left of the stairs which goes up to the upper dining room. The server came over pretty quickly and asked us what we wanted to drink… i asked for water and a few extra minutes because we’d never been there before. Here’s what we ordered: –Pitcher of White Sangria –Nachos –Chopped Salad –Steak Burrito Here’s what we got: –Pitcher of Red Sangria –Chopped Salad –Steak Burrito About 10 minutes later we got a pitcher of red sangria to the table. Not what we ordered but i figured i didn’t want to complain and be one of «those» people. I look around the dining room and notice that all the other tables have chips and salsa on them but ours. Even the ones which were sat after us. I figured they didn’t bring them to us because we ordered Nachos… So, no party foul here… About 15 more minutes goes by, and the burrito and salad came out before the appetizer. I asked the food runner why our appetizer didn’t come out and she told me i didn’t order one. I explained to her what we ordered, she had a disbelieving look on her face then put our food down on the table, and got our server. I told the server that mix ups happen, i mentioned the red/white sangria situation and then asked for some chips and salsa for the table in lieu of the nachos. The food runner came back with a bucket of chips and the salsa spilled on her hand while in transport. So, after she put the salsa on the table she licked her finger… YES, ATMYTABLE… THESERVERISLICKINGHERFINGER asking if we need anything from her. Then, she picks up my brothers water glass to make room on the table and sticks said finger inside the glass… So disgusted. After having not eaten for the majority of the day you’d think anything would taste good… Well, not really. The salad was very bland with minimal toppings and the small bit of dressing which accompanied the sea of romaine lettuce it didn’t even cover half of the salad. The burrito, was described as mediocre at best. After all these mix ups a manager didn’t even come over to check in or apologize. Sitting next to the stairs which appears to be a bit of a congregation spot for the waitstaff no one asked us how our food was or how we were doing. Really frustrating here. GETITTOGETHER, BABY!
