«When Pigs Fly» meaty pork drumsticks, delicious app, or the perfect amount for a light lunch. Great and friendly service.

Went here for a late lunch /early dinner with my wife for our anniversary while we were at the casino. It’s very difficult to get her to try new food and we usually go the Seasons Buffett but I convinced her to try something new. Wait /Bar staff(one in the same) were very polite and professional. Food took a little bit of time to arrive but not unreasonable considering it comes from the«Food Court» section next door. Order the chowder and pretzels for an appetizer and ordered the Lobster melt and the wife had a burger. Food portions were large and food was delicious. As for drinks, my wife order a wine and I ordered an Amaretto Sour. She wasn’t a fan of the wine but the Amaretto sour was very good. Overall a good meal. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Will definitely return in the future.

Paying $ 15 for a panini at a casino didn’t really shock me and I really didn’t mind when I saw it came with a decent amount of fries, a pickle, and Mac salad… I needed something for the drive home so I asked for it to go and after it came out on a tray the order taker packed it up for me but threw out the forks and ketchup. I ordered a Reuben and as I got into the car realized they gave me a pulled pork and ham panini instead… I don’t eat pork… I even asked for extra dressing and he gave me a packet of thousand island so he knew I ordered a Reuben, saw the wrong sandwich, and still packed it up and gave it to me… Pretty annoyed.

So my wife and I thought that while our daughter is attending the UCONN women’s game with her grandmother here at Mohegan Sun(which is of course coached by the incomparable Geno Auriemma), a good place to go have lunch and watch the game on TV might be, well, «Geno’s Pub.» Which, for the record, is a sports bar a short walk from the arena with several large TVs. Ironically, we’re informed by the bartender that their cable package does not include the channel(ESPN3) that is broadcasting the game. The bartenders’ excuse: «The game is in the arena!» So apparently we should get up and leave?

Food was decent and the wait staff was mediocre. Waitress didn’t seem to know the taste of some of the bottled beers so couldn’t recommend it or not. We ordered a dish to go after we finished eating and had to flag the waitress down to see how much longer it would be. Overall I would say the price you pay for the food isn’t worth it.

Just ate here with my wife for our anniversary. For an app my wife and I shared a mozz and tomato salad which was tasty! For dinner my wife had the lobster roll which is always great and I tried the 8oz tenderloin. Hat off to the Chef because it was cooked to perfection. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone who likes quality food in a Pub setting.

Horrible Service!!! We had gone to a couple of restaurants within the casino for dinner but the wait was pretty long at each one. There was no wait at Genos… Now I know why. So we get there and approached by a dirty blond waitress that doesn’t even seem the least bit courteous. We order the mozzarella stick and a couple of minutes later, dinner. We get our appetizer and it’s cold, as if not thawed out thoroughly and fully cooked. Over 45 minutes go by and we are still waiting on dinner so I ask for a manager, a heavyset, maybe Brazilian lady. Her attitude was unapologetic and didn’t appear as if she even cared… Not once did she even apologize but instead wanted to differ w me. Now I see why there was no wait… Save yourself the trouble and money

My husband and I shared a Pepperoni Flatbread for lunch today. All of the ingredients were fresh and it was cooked nicely. It came out hot. Our server was polite and attentive. No complaints.

The food was surprisingly good, I have to lead with that. However, was completely put off by the staff behind the bar. Sittin at the bar we saw someone send back a drink due to a fly, and instead of making a new one three bartenders all had their face over and around the drink trying to find the fly. After a customer pointed out the fly, they used a stirrer to remove fly and back to the customer. Also, the waitstaff has no where to converse as it seems the food is pulled from the food court area and there is no actual kitchen there, so bar guests had to hear all about running out of booze and whT the girls wanted to eat for dinner. They must have been starving at they kept asking each other what they were going to order… Waiting for a table is first come first served they do not take names you wait in line to be served. This should be clear no one in line knew this Again, thankfully the food was good, but seeing the Unprofessionalism of the bar staff made me feel very hesitant about our food

It looked cute from the outside, but as soon as we stepped up to the entrance of the pub and waited in a queue for a table, I could tell immediately that it was dirty. Somebody’s used napkin was lying on the floor where we were eventually seated, and none of the staff members offered to pick it up. Not only that, but as we were waiting for a table, a young brunette, who later served our table(I’ll get to that one), shoved me out of the way and brusquely said, «excuse me» without even looking back at me and apologising. Being a polite person, I decided to forget about it, but when she came to our table to take our orders, she was even more unpleasant. Multiple times when she was in our area, she stalked over to the table right next to us and ignored us after she was finished accommodating them. When we put in our orders, she yanked the menus out of our hands with a little force, and scowled at us when she was finally a distance away. Horrible server. It took fifteen minutes for her to even offer us another round of drinks. As for the food, it was really dry. The fries were alright, but overall, the food was really gross. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Quick review… Saturday night, place was busy, but we did not have to wait for seating. Our waitress was okay, not bad, not great. Ran out of Bud Light Lime, so I ordered a Corona Light, which was more expensive. I ordered the flat bread pizza, which states on the menu ‘crispy crust’. I asked the waitress to please note that I love crispy crust and had her confirm the the flat bread pizza did have a crispy crust, which she did confirm. Too bad that my crust was thick and soggy. It was almost like a Sicilian pizza. I give my dinner a zero. My dining partner ordered the whole belly clams. In the past, the clams have been plentiful and big, but not last night. The clams were small and only about a handful was given, but according to my dining partner, the clams were tasty and freshly cooked. This place is acceptable if you want to sit at a bar and watch sports on tv. Not a romantic date night dinner establishment. Stay away from the flatbread! ;)

So it was a Saturday afternoon and I’ve tried some of the other places in Mohegan. I walked by this place, read their menu and figured why not. Red Hook even makes a beer for them! I ordered their Prosciutto and Mozz appetizer. It came out a bit on the cold side and it was square. I’m thinking two stars at this stage of the game. Then I realize it’s in red sauce, topped with four different sauces in all four corners. So now I’m thinking one star. If you want four sauces on it, don’t bathe it in a red sauce. I divide this square thing up into eight pieces(guess I was bored). There’s red sauce on it, pesto sauce on it, Parmesan on it and one corner is just blank… but remember, it’s already in sauce! It didn’t turn out to be half bad but I would have liked it a bit hotter. I had the fish and chips after that and I have to say that they were definitely up there in the ratings. So they redeemed themselves! Fires were pretty spot on too. I also liked their homemade tarter sauce, it was a good choice. The beer from Red Hook was also a winner, so we’re getting up to four stars now. The staff was very friendly as well and made sure we were good to go. A really good note to remember though… if you get the belly clams, get them really, really cooked. I tried some and noticed that with the batter, it doesn’t get cooked thoroughly and makes it quite unpleasant.

I had the great displeasure of eating here recently. The food was edible but not tasty and pretty obviously pre-frozen and packaged. Their ridiculous policy on substitutions made no sense. After ordering a burger, three people in my party tried to sub veggies or salads for fries, something that is very commonplace at most restaurants. However, we were told we were unable to sub certain things, and prices on substitutions made no sense. They should just charge 2 – 3 $ more for entrees and let people have whatever side they wish. One of my friends was wearing white pants. At the meal’s conclusion, she discovered that here pants looked like the New York Times after her napkin stained them. The host attempted to mumble something and walk away when she told him. Luckily, a passing by waitress noticed and brought some cleaning solution and a towel. Oh yeah, there was no bathroom and the closest was a 2 min walk away inside the casino. Despite being surrounded by middling food options, I’d avoid this place at all costs.

I so want to give this place 5 stars, and I’m even hesitant giving 4 given recent visits. 3.5 would be a happy medium for me. I eat at Geno’s EVERY time I go to the casino. I have literally tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed with the food or the prices. It’s not usually crowded and I have only waited for a seat at the bar a handful of times, usually when people are hanging out before a show at Mohegan Sun Arena. However, recently, the bar staff has been sub-par(or, one member of the bar staff specifically, but he seems to ALWAYS be there whenever I go!!). The ladies have always been fabulous and remember my boyfriend and I when we come in. This guy is a disaster. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first two times because I figured he’s new and needs to get used to the place… NOPE! The last time I went(mid-October) I had not been there since mid-August. It seems he has gotten even worse. The last times, he was simply inattentive and I was mildly annoyed. This time, I was getting angry. Had I enjoyed the experience, he would have gotten another drink out of us and the normally high tip that we leave. Instead, we left after 2 drinks and dinner and left only 15%. When we sat down, the girl bartender was leaving(Cassie?). She was very pleasant(always is), wiped the bartop for us and explained that she was leaving and that James(?) would be taking care of us. He gave us menus, asked us what we wanted to drink. I ordered an Absolut Berry Acai and soda(their vodka flavors change ALL the time and they tend to be a little odd…), and he had no idea what I was talking about until I pointed to the bottle in the FRONT row of the bar, next to the only other 4 Absolut flavors they were carrying. I will give him credit for actually giving me soda when a lot of bartenders will give me Sprite, but he got that right. However, once he had taken a sip of his drink and I hadn’t gotten that far yet, my boyfriend mentioned to me to touch the glass, which was warm. Not only does this make a drink warmer than usual, but it is dangerous(what can happen when you add ice to a hot glass? It can crack!!). We ordered our food; I got a soup and a flatbread. My boyfriend got his salad, but my soup never appeared. We had no silverware. We had no salt and pepper. We had empty drinks for FIVE minutes because the bartender was watching the Yankee game on TV! The bar is very small, with only about 15 seats max and there were 6 other people at the bar. When he finally acknowledged us, we asked for all of those things and he went to the back immediately to get the soup, which was hot and delicious. I watched several times as the bartender would look quickly at the bar to make sure no one else had sat down, and go back to either watching TV or talking to the hostess. Apparently refilling drinks for patrons already there was not a priority. I had a coupon, he didn’t know how to do it so he had to get a manager. He almost charged me using my casino points even though I told him I didn’t want to use them, but caught himself at the last second. We paid and got the heck out of there. So, though I have gone into huge detail about one instance, I do still go to Geno’s and I do still recommend it. I just hope that the par of the service goes back up soon, because the food is delicious! Personal faves: eggplant parm and the flatbread with the pesto(I think it’s called Green and Red). Their house balsamic dressing is also fabulous.
