Quarterdeck

My wife and I went here about 5 years ago and we weren’t really that impressed. Seeing all the cars parked there during the many times we passed, we decided to give it another try. I know the locals are going to be upset with this review. The wait staff is nice. But, our waitress had a problem listening. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea. She brought me a sweet tea and I HATE sweet tea! We placed our order. Wife ordered 6 butterfly shrimp and I ordered a sirloin cooked medium. Both had salads that were good. Our dinners arrived. My wife’s dinner was 12 shrimp meaning an extra $ 6 to our bill. And all you could really taste was the breading. My steak was raw and I sent back. When the waitress brought back in like 5 minutes it was very clear they put it in a microwave oven to cook it more. Terrible way to cook a steak! You cook a steak for me, make sure it’s done right. The steamed veggies were frozen type and probably nuked in the microwave. We will not go back. Let the locals enjoy their trivia night and whatever other things they do.

the only seafood place on my route home, I was not impressed. The place had a very dusty bingo hall vibe. Which can be fun if the food is good and the service decent. Quarterdeck had neither. The chowder was over-​salted and everything else only came fried. I would not recommend.

Posting late cuz I never got around to this review at a more appropriate time. Not sure if they have improved lately but I never liked this place every time we went. Not sure why people go. I feel like I need a shower when I leave. The food was always unpleasant and we did have hockey puck burgers that were inedible. Asked to have them made again and they came out the same way. It was hilarious that a burger could be so bad twice. Service was very little to be desired.

Was there on Friday night. I had their special fish sandwich. Husband had «all you can eat fish». Food was good. We will definitely return. The place was packed at 5:30. We will go earlier next time.

Great restaurant with excellent staff and good food at a good price. Best waitresses in the south!

The Quarterdeck offers delicious food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. I had to visit a second time during my hiking vacation in the area, and both times were great. I love their hush puppies and the onion straws. The employees seem to love working together. Good energy.

I changed my mind. We were there for dinner tonight and there was nothing good about the service or meal.
The place was pretty busy so we expected a delay but… wow… it was a long time. Didn’t time it but I finished off a quart sized glass of water while waiting.
Their ‘famous’ fish fry was terrible. The fish was not freshly fried and had probably been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. it was rubbery and cold. The hamburger was a hockey puck burger.
Stay away! They were packed so a bad review or two probably won’t hurt them but be warned. It is inconsistent at best.
