This winemaker is located on north state as you are leaving Ukiah, on the right(east) side — It makes a wide range of wines, but focuses primarily on reds from Mendocino County vineyards. Just on the edge of a light industrial park — you go through a gate and enter the peaceful and serene patio of Dunnewood Vineyards. Huge Redwood trees overhead and picnic tables are scattered across the nicely manicured lawn. The large winery facility is owing, in part, to Dunnewood/Mendocino Vineyards being owned by wine giant Constellation. All Mendocino County grapes for Constellation Brand(CB) wines are made into wine at this facility. More interesting, from a «green» Mendocino County wine industry perspective, Mendicino Vineyards makes certified organic grown grape wines. This county is known for being organic and green and the wines made here are none the less. The tasting room(and offices) are inside a very small and unassuming wood-sided building. At the tasting room there is a bar and a few gift items for sale. And, one of those items — when available — is Dry Silk the Red Wine filled chocolates — are simply amazing. Dark chocolate and Cabernet… Great Tawny Ports and Cabernet’s and the Coro Mendocino Zin heavy blend is a real winner. Dunnewood worth the stop. 168
