I was excited bout this place. I like the design and concept of the place but when we got our food it was such a disappointment. It was a little pricey so I was expecting for the food to be great but it lacked a lot of flavor. Probably won’t be back and don’t recommend.

Every time I’ve been here the waitstaff is different, but one thing persists I’m addressed as sweetie and or honey. A familiarity that annoys me. Kitchen staff seems to change frequently too. My favorite and the only dish I ever order is the spring roll bowl. Never the same twice!

I really enjoy ChopChop! The food is delicious. The bar staff is awesome! When the wait staff gets slammed, the bar staff Always steps up and gets you taken care of! Affordable prices and good food!

Don’t expect traditional phở. It’s more of an Americanized version. Cool and funky environment. A place to eat late night in Ukiah.

Just waited 40 mins for a to-go order.(2 skewers and an egg roll) had to leave before my snack was ready. So much for grabbing a quick bite to eat. Now I’m running late and still starving. So unimpressed! Shame on you guys. You would think with a name like«Chop-chop» the service would be quick. This is not the case. Lol

Fresh and delicious Bahn Mi sandwich and a vanilla soda. The sandwich had Chinese pork, pickled carrots, basil, cilantro. Tasty tasty tasty! Hot toddie was also hitting the spot on a chilly day. Place was basically empty day before New Year’s so the service was good.

This food was terrrriblleeeee I’m sad to say because the wait staff was super nice and I really like how the place is decorated. I ordered the vegan phở. It was beyond bland, and there were hardly any vegetables in it besides shredded carrots and some onions. It did come with a small piece of tofu. The noodles were not phở noodles either, they were flat. The soup base had no flavor, and just tasted like vegetable stock, I’ve made much better at home not to sound like a pretentious dick, but seriously it needed more vegetables and more flavors in the base. It was also oddly oily, like way too oily for phở. Boyfriend ordered the fish slider. It was listed under entreés so we assumed there would be multiple sliders to make a meal. Alas, there was only one, and it wasn’t especially good either especially for $ 7. So we ended up ordering a Vietnamese sandwich as well, and it wasn’t as bad as the rest of the food, but not particularly amazing either. It had a peanut sauce which gave it some personality and kept us full from what the other dishes lacked. Sorry Chop Chop, I wanted to like you but it didn’t work out this time.

I travel frequently and use Unilocal to find restaurants. Tonight I had a rice bowl with kale that was the most flavorful dish that I have had in quite some time. The service was excellent and friendly. I will must return and try another dish on my next trip to this area.

Stopped by here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend, and oh my goodness am I glad I did. I ordered the Traditional Phở w/Chinese Pork and it far exceeded my expectations. The seasoning and overall flavor was fresh and rich, a perfect dish for warming up on a nippy fall day. Furthermore, the portion was huge, it was so filling I had to take the rest home. It definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. Our server(Tiffany?) was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself was very relaxing. I’ll definitely be back to sample the rest of their offerings and perhaps take advantage of the extensive drinks menu.

I am so sad to be posting a one star review for this cute establishment, but the service we received yesterday was the worst I have ever received, ever. We went into Chop Chop around 4PM. An awkward time of transition for restaraunts sometimes, so I understand delays. There were two other tables with people in the establishment. The waitress took her time getting to our table(4:15). She was apologetic and excusey. We ordered. She brought our drinks. We waited.(4:30)…nothing.(4:45)…nothing, no one checked on us and it seemed out waitress(whom I think was the manager?) seemed to have disappeared.(5:00) we grabbed the other waitress finally and had her check the order. It was never entered. We cancelled our order and they discounted our drinks 50%. While leaving, the manager/waitress we had had was yelling at us down the sidewalk that she would comp our next meal. Sort of an inappropriate and strange approach. We were nothing but nice, but being on a tight schedule, being nine months pregnant and having guests from out of town with me I was extremely disappointed not to eat, saddened by the lack of service and flabbergasted by the way the whole thing was handled. I hope this review only helps the people at Chop Chop improve. Service is so incredibly important. And when your patrons leave feeling hungry, disrespected and disappointed it’s no bueno. Good luck Chop Chop. I hope you are able to fix the glitches along the way.

Was not too impressed with the food. Ordered the Curry Chicken because I was told it was all white meat(Not So). The Asian Coleslaw that came with it threw the balance off on the taste of the whole meal. Price was not worthy of the amount you received. Kids meals are not large enough for a real kid to eat(even the waitress said so) so we ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Meal for our son. Way over priced as well but at least he somewhat enjoyed it. Limited menu. Not too much to chose from even by a bars standards. On a positive note: the curry sauce was very nice, sweet potatoes in the dish was a nice bonus. Probably will not return.

Such a breath of fresh air in Ukiah, Chop Chop presents delicious Asian oriented noodles, rice bowls, and exquisite meats and condiments that are added, making every dish unique. Great local beers and wines. It’s a fun quick lunch spot all week long, as well as dinner and some late nights. Great signature dishes and new items too. Thank you Craig and Bridget!

This is one tasty spot! For Ukiah this was pretty upscale without the upscale price. Will be my new spot while I’m in Ukiah. Keep it up Chop Chop.

Very tasty and so simple! I heard of this place from my mother and Ukiah has never had a noodle bar so I thought I’d try it with a friend. We both got the mushroom kale rice bowl with spicy Sriracha mayo and a steamed bun. Our order was taken by the friendly waitress and the food arrived promptly. The bowls had generous helpings of rice but I wish they would have included more veggies. Overall, they were flavorful yet not too salty. The steamed buns were tasty but not what I expected. I was thinking it would be more along the line of a traditional steamed pork bun. The building itself is very handsome and hip. It has a sizable bar with house cocktails. The bar is a somewhat unusual shape but it adds to the visual interest. The décor was bright and cheery and it was easy to tell the place is clean. Their pricing system is kind of odd. You get a base bowl which is rice and some veggies, then meat/tofu add ons are around $ 3 more. If you would like avocado or extra sauce that runs $ 0.50– $ 2 more. I like that it adds flexibility to your order, but it’s also a bit misleading when you first glance at the menu and see that what you think is an entrée is only $ 7. After the steamed bun, a soda, and my kale bowl it still only ran me $ 13, so the prices are very reasonable. I had a great time and I hope this business does well so I can return next time for happy hour!

Awesome staff and great happy hour prices! 2 good beers for $ 5 was a steal. I ordered the burger and it was tasty, it came with a few chips but some fresh tomato would have been great! The staff was all very friendly and attentive, the décor was nice, the actual bar was really neat and the statement of the restaurant! This seems like a great place to get together with friends for a light meal or small bites and some fun drinks. The portions seemed midsize to small but the prices weren’t too high. Tonight they had watermelon margaritas, that sounds like a great idea on a hot day in the 100s!

Well, this is an updated review. I went from 5 stars to 3 mostly because of inconsistent service the last few times I’ve come in. I am still a fan but might back off for a while because when I go out for lunch or dinner I really am hungry and do want to receive service in a timely manner. Hoping this is just a blip because Ukiah could really use another yummy restaurant for lunch and dinner. Here is my previous review: I came in for lunch today with a friend and was greeted right away: «Welcome! Please, sit wherever you’d like.» We were provided with a menu for both food and beverages promptly. I ordered the rose lemonade and my lunchtime compadre had the vanilla bean dry soda(both were YUM)! For our lunch we shared an order of potato chips which were simple but nice. The restaurant has many awesome redwood tables(?) that were clean, sleek, and comfortable. The interior was simple and inviting. I am a vegetarian and there was quite an array of vegetarian/vegan options. I ended up ordering the Spring Roll Bowl and chose to add avocado(wow!) instead of a protein today. It was DIVINE. I am telling you-flavor that will keep me coming back again very soon. It was fresh, flavorful with lots of fresh herbs and cold rice noodles that didn’t leave me feeling heavy and bloated. Fantastic! It makes me excited to try more. My lunchtime compadre(who is not a vegetarian) ordered the Banh Mi(Pork loin sandwich) which was, and I quote, «Delicious and completely satisfying. The baguette was chewy the sauce was SUPER tasty without being overly spicy. Everything tasted considerably fresh.» I’ll be back for sure.

Okay! Excited to review CHOPCHOP. Since when does Ukiah have PHO? Serious? General: Chop Chop gets 4 stars, but I really feel like it was a 3 ½ star experience(4 stars because I want to see them do well). I was thrilled to find the place and was instantly pulled right into it. The menu is simple, but creative. The art is, eclectic(currently). The atmosphere is comfortable. Aesthetics: First, the place is aesthetically off to a great star. BEAUTIFUL wooden bar and table tops. That said, the chairs are a little short which is a bit awkward to deal with. Over all it’s a cute spot, which is important. Great mini-date spot. Service: Service was mediocre. Very nice servers but not really making the magic happen. I had to ask a couple times for a side dish I wanted to taste and we had an extra cup sitting on our table the entire time. There wasn’t a spoon provided when I got my dish, and Phở should certainly come with a spoon. All and all, nothing major — but some room to improve. Also, the chop sticks seem to cheap for the place(just normal reusables, but next to such beautiful wood tables they seem out of place). Food: Presentation, nice! Food looks good(see photos). The Pad Thai & Phở came in lovely bowls and certainly were given some attention. The Phở is not traditional however and wasn’t quite as flavorful as I general like. It also didn’t come with any limes, which could be a nice add for them sometime. They had the usual condiments(no shoyu though). I’d like to see more flavor from the stock. The size was decent, but on the small side for phở. The Pad Thai was also not what I’m used to, but pretty good. Not so much a peanuty sauce, kind of there but also had some variation. – Chop Chop seems like it’s off to a good start and has some room to develop. I think they could do with more attentive service, some evolution of the menu, and some ironing out of a few kinks. I give it a 4 star review because I get the feeling that they’re going to do good things and that this is a nice restaurant to add in in Ukiah. I look forward to stopping in here when I travel through and will definitely be coming back. Thanks Chop Chop!
