I recently persuaded my brother to pay this place a visit. He returned from a position overseas last month and it quickly became apparent his wardrobe was lacking and needed some serious TLC. After dropping a few hints we happened to find ourselves on Rt 7 with a couple of hours to kill between holiday networking events(yes, I planned it that way…). I had not been to DXL before but was really hoping it was going to have some good options for my 6’4″ bro. On this particular visit we were looking for nice slacks, dress shirts, and a belt. My fingers were crossed this would be a not overly painful experience. I am happy to report it actually ranked as positive. There were several individuals who assisted us and we were able to find him some decent items that he was comfortable wearing. The plan is for him to visit again in another week or so and begin to expand his wardrobe options. I am hopeful this may prove to be a good spot for my brother and he can develop a wardrobe that he is comfortable wearing and looks good.

I go with my mother to buy a suit. They said it needs to be tailored. I come back two weeks later. They look for it for 45 minutes, and fail to find it. The guy says we will need to replace it. I tell him to give my mother a refund. He says«I am so pissed off.» He feels angry, well how does he think I feel. These people are morons. I will try another DXL location, and it better not be as bad as this one.

We have only visited this location once and it was an hour before closing(or less) and they were fairly busy but it didn’t stop their employees from doing their job well. The gentleman who helped us was not only friendly but funny too! He helped us find the kind of shirts my husband needed, as well as the vest and belt. He was honest and was not pushy at all and gave us sound and fair advice. I wish I could remember his name but I think he was Latino maybe?(Hopefully I’m not ignorant and completely wrong) The store is immaculate and has a couple of couches in the middle of the store that faces a big screen television. Of course, it seems to only play ESPN but I can’t be surprised over that ;P There is plenty of free parking outside and inside the garage. This location is in the same area as the Nordstrom rack. It is not located in the mall which really is a good thing. There are tons of top named brands at this store including Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, etc. They don’t open as late as other stores so just check the times. They will have sales at times. It is worth signing up for their rewards program too. My husband also checked out their clearance section but we didn’t spend too much time there. But have no fear, they have a clearance section! Happy shopping!

My girlfriend came home a few days ago saddened and enraged by the behavior of a DXL employee who physically intimidated and insulted her. After getting turned around in the confusing parking area, she was trying to walk through the DXL store for access to one of the neighboring stores. Being the nice person that she is, she actually stopped and asked an employee if this was ok. The first person she spoke with said yes, it was fine, she was just going through for a moment. She began to pass and then a second employee, a large guy, invaded her physical space, blocked her path, and insultingly ‘shooed’ her away, speaking to her with a tone and attitude completely inappropriate to the situation. She was treated like a shoplifter or security nuisance, and made very uncomfortable by the aggressive demeanor of the man. I don’t know what this employee’s name was, and can only describe him as a large guy — but every single person who works there should be responsible for interacting respectfully with anyone who comes through their doors, and when one person doesn’t do that, it ruins it for all the others who do. I am committed to avoiding this poorly managed and incompetently staffed store until it vacates, and influencing everyone I can to do the same.
