First tip. Have Fredrika be your waitress. She’s awesome! Friends, attentive, and prompt service. Be careful with the bread. You don’t want it filling you up before the entrée. I had the Chicken Marsala. It was great. The food is good the service superb.

We found this place quite by accident while looking for a way back on to loop 323. It is off the beaten path but is well worth finding. The place is fantastic. Our dinner started with complimentary fresh bread that was melt in your mouth delicious. We had the cheese ravioli, Stromboli, and chicken Marsala. We sampled each other’s dishes and raved about how good it all was. Also the service was spot on. Attentive but not overbearing. This was a wonderful experience and we will be back.

Very nice place! I came here on my lunch break one weekday, since I’m still exploring great places to eat around the neighborhood. Sorry I forgot about reviewing this place until now, almost 2 weeks later. I think I had some rigatoni or something like that. Whatever it was, it was vegetarian-friendly & it was delicious! They also had great rolls, good for soaking up the delicious sauce. I think I also remember that they could’ve used some thicker napkins. I hope to return to this place again sometime!

We were in town for a college visit and looking for some Italian food. Saw the good write ups on Unilocal so decided to try it out. Place was nicely decorated and clean with some nice Andrea Bocelli music piped in. Started with calamari which was nice and hot with tasty marinara sauce. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana which she enjoyed. My daughter enjoyed the angel hair pasta with a great Italian sausage sauce. I devoured the meat lasagna which came out piping hot with great flavor. Overall a great experience and would recommend the place for all to enjoy.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant! I usually get the salmon Bella Donna or the lobster ravioli which are ALWAYS delicious. Of course, I always get it with a glass of their peach Stella Rosa moscato. The service is magnificent and they really make you feel welcomed and taken care of. Will never ever go to any other Italian place in town.

Best Pizza in Tyler. Italian dishes are fresh and very good. Owners are friendly and use fresh ingredients off their farm. Can’t go wrong at Portofinos.

Always great food, atmosphere, and I have never had anything less than great service as well. You can’t go wrong eating here. I would recommend at the chicken Parmesan, chicken Alfredo, Stromboli, calzones, lobster ravioli, and the house salad dressing.

Well my wife and I from Australia came here not knowing what to expect, but seeing the high ratings thought why not. Well we got seated immediately by Mason and the entire nights service was impeccable. Ordered a wine and a peroni nostro azzuni from tap. Nice touch and fresh. Got the brushetta and minestrone soup yum. Then I ordered the ossabuco which was sublime and jt — chef ordered veal scaloppini which was done well with crunchy breading and tender veal. This is a definite must do if your in town. I had no room for tiramisu so next time with an expression and a limoncello for sure. Chef julie told me to add The bread rolls are home made and minestrone soup is best and the staff are professional and an asset.

Wow experience here tonight having dinner in bar area. Great service and food to match. I had a special request pasta with marinara, sausage and meatballs, bottle of ok Reisling, app of shrimp/mushrooms, and sparkling water. Bread rolls sure seemed made inhouse and were excellent. Across parking lot from my hotel room at Magnuson. Thanks folks. Well done.

I am not sure what I liked more, the delicious food or the attentive service. Went here for dinner with friends and had a wonderful meal. This restaurant is a little off the beaten path but well worth finding. Especially if you are an Italian food snob like me . The chicken scarpella was a zesty, delightful taste and I can highly recommend this dish. I could have been happy just eating the freshly made zucchini appetizer because of the rich marinara sauce. Our waiter, Mason, was on point and so nice to chat with. The chef even came out to meet us and talk about the food. My only suggestion would be to offer freshly grated parmesan cheese & fresh ground pepper, but then again, I confessed I was a snob! We will be back as Portofino’s is now our go to place for good Italian food in Tyler.

Wonderful Italian food! So glad my friend told me about this place. Beautiful little restaurant and very intimate. We came with our kids and really enjoyed it but it would make a great date night too. Great service! Our waitress Fredericka was so sweet. She even sung happy birthday to my husband. The hostess was very sweet too. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Complimentary bread and salad. The salad is composed of a mescaline mix & is dressed in a delicious vinaigrette. I went during lunch hours and the portions could have easily been sized for dinner. I must say I rarely ever go out for Italian because I usually feel I’m paying for over cooked pasta with a bland and boring sauce. Not so at Portofino’s! I chose the Frutti de Mari. The squid was NOT over cooked and tender to the bite — a hard task for an untrained cook. The clams and mussels were tender too. They gilded the lilly by adding a couple of jumbo shrimp in the mix. Our party was of four and everyone enjoyed what they got — no complaints from any of us. We all went home with to go boxes. Like I said before, the portions are generous. Delicious! Next time you’re thinking of Olive Garden or Johnny Carino’s — pick Portofino’s instead.
