Great place! Fresh seafood. We arrived 10 minutes after closing time and they let us in and served us anyway! Now THAT is how customer service is done!

Coastal living at its finest! Small, locally-owned, fresh. Headless medium-sized shrimp were about $ 13 a pound. That’s really reasonable for fresh, local shrimp.(You can get cheaper from other stores, but theyr’re frozen, from Peru and farm-raised.) The customer service has all the endearing charm one would expect from a locally-owned business.

Great place! Wonderful owners, great product and very nice suggestions and selections. The Grouper Cheeks were fantastic in our fish tacos. It’s ashame that while on Tybee, twice in the last year, the only good seafood is what we have purchased at Bowies and prepared ourselves. Thank you all so much!

Ran all over Savannah and areas surrounding it in search of fresh seafood. Should’ve just driven the two minutes from our rental cottage to this place. The proprietors were patient and helpful, and had a terrific array of seafood: mussels, scallops, grouper, red snapper, four types of shrimp, clams, etc. All were very fresh. We bought some head-on shrimp, clams and smoked sausage for our own boil and it could not have been better. We will definitely be back. I’d also like to note that this is one of the cleanest markets we visited during our seafood market tour of the area. All too often we got slapped in the face with the thick, viscous smell of a hobo’s underpants that had been stuffed with rotten tuna and left in a hot car as soon as we walked in. This place smelled like the ocean and was spotlessly clean.

So stopped and bought a lb if shrimp today got home and grilled them and guess what they have been treated with a chemical that hides the smell it leaves a metallic smell and taste and ruins seafood it is the latest rage especially in shrimp and I do not accept it. How can you claim to be a fresh seafood market and sell shrimp that have been chemically treated. This is not acceptable. Ask before you buy I did and smelled and still was fooled so do your homework. I am pissed!

Don’t expect great service. Only once I’d pulled out my debit card to pay did I get any sort of human kindness. But, these guys are here to catch fish and sell it, not to be sweethearts and sooth my feelings, so that is okay. I got mussels, king crab and tuna. The mussels were divine, some of the best I’ve ever had and I’m a huge seafood eater. The crab was good, but not great. It was frozen, so I consider it a wash anyway. The tuna was pretty delicious too. Overall these guys have really fresh and tasty seafood. Anytime I need something like clams or shrimp, you better believe I’ll be shopping there. They can ignore me all they want as long as the seafood stays tasty!
