This place is a little strange. I like their pepperoni pizza but they often don’t have any. When I asked the clerk when the next pepperoni pizza would come out, he replied that he couldn’t make one«because it’s our most popular pizza and if I made one, no one would buy the pizzas that are already made.» How’s that for a business model? Update: Stopped back and asked for pepperoni pizza. They said they could take some cheese pizza and put some pepperoni on it and run it through the oven again. No thanks.

I used to really love Walter’ Pizza when they first opened — I’m a veteran of PX pizza establishments(those located on base) and when they first opened they were way better than Michaelangelo’s or Anthony’s Pizza. The price was decent and they had several hot and ready pizzas of different types waiting which really helped skip the lunch crush. Lately, however, the quality has gone down hill. I’ve come in several times and there has been no pizza ready(between 1100 – 1300) at all and the kitchen area is empty. Nathan’s, Mark Pi’s and Walthers have a joint kitchen/rear area and the other two are always staffed but Walthers just sits empty. I understand the owner doesn’t want to lose money by having to throw away cold pizza but almost no one is going to wait around for the pizza to cook on their limited lunch time. I went to the food court with my wife and went up to get pizza. The place was deserted and I had to wave someone over and get two of the four pieces of pepperoni they had sitting under the lamp. It was apparent the pizza had been sitting out for quite a while. Despite making a joke about the pizza being extremely old they shoved it on a plate and handed it to me. Usually they at least offer to run two slices back through the oven to warm it up but not this time. When I went back to get an employee to run them through they acted inconvenienced. The common dining area had a bunch of dirty tables. Pizza was greasy with almost no sauce and even after going through the warmer the cheese still hadn’t all remelted. Very disappointing looking at how far they’ve fallen.

I’ve come here a few times in the past and normally I get the single slices. You tell them what you want, they pop it in the oven very quickly and Voilá you have your slice. No complaints there however, this is my second time ordering a «build your own» and both times they’ve managed to mess it up. This last time I asked for the dough, the sauce, the cheese, Peperoni and cheese on top of that, layered… The cashier was confused, had to ask another associate if it could be done, they conferred and agreed it could be. They charged me for extra cheese and they went off to the back, twenty minutes later out came a product that resembled a regular Peperoni pie. As Marines our time is limited and we couldn’t wait for a remake, and they said they wouldn’t refund us…

This is the best pizza you can get on base! The slices are pretty large!
