Went to eat here today around 5:15 pm and I was impressed. It wasnt that busy, we were greeted by not only the hostess but by every employee that walked by us. There were quite a few employees for it being slow but they all kept busy and I never seen any of the staff standing around. Everyone made us feel comfortable and took great care of us. The food was great and it came out in a timely manner, anytime an employee walked by our table they asked if we were doing ok and if we needed anything. I love the atmosphere. When we were leaving they thanked us. As you can tell Im not use to this kind of service especially in the desert. We are going back everytime we are in 29 Palms. Thank you Edchadas for the great service, it made my day even better.

We dined at this restaurant after a long days drive down from Fresno. The bus boy brought chips and salsa and drinks right away, but we waited for about 15 minutes for the waitperson to talk our order — terrible. After the order we sat for about 30 minutes and all but finished the chips and salsa before the bus boy brought out our order. The waitperson never inquired about our order and when it was time to pay we had to summoned the bus boy and he brought the check, but when the money came out the waitperson was Johnny on the spot. This was a Sunday evening and not that busy. All-in-all terrible service and the«fine dining» was little more than«gringo» Mexican.

Service started out a little slow but our food was delicious. I was kind of surprised how well everything turned out. Strawberry margarita was yummy as well. Will definitely come back next time we’re in town.

DONE! Gave them one more try. Worst food in 29 Palms and the Service is as bad as it can get. Very slow and they do not seem to care. Avoid this place.

Me my husband and his friend all had different meals, burrito, chicken enchiladas, and chicken flautas. We also shared chips and salsa and a beef quesadilla. The food was alright, but we all got food poisoning that night. We can’t even pinpoint what meal it could have been since we all had something different, deff never going here again

The word around this town, 29 Palms, is that there are only a handful of good restaurants where a fine meal could be enjoyed. This is pretty much true, but we found this Mexican eatery better than some of the reviews would have you believe. We were very pleased with our dinner on a recent Saturday night. We had to wait a few minutes for a booth because of the crowd. I thought the beef tacos were very good and the beans and rice seemed quite authentic. The service was fast and polite. No regrets here. We would go back in a New York minute… if only we were staying longer.

Not the best mexican food available but certainly not the worst. I came here and got exactly what I was expecting. Cheap food, while being able to dine in.

I have been here a few times now, and while the food is acceptable and not at all bad I have to give 4 stars because the service is generally very kind and quick. It’s a nice sit-down, waitress restaurant(contrast to Santana’s where it’s fast food style) for those who want that. The place is pretty clean, orderly, and staffed well. As for the food, the only bad thing I have had was a smothered burrito which was just too soggy and bland. Will be back, of course. I prefer over Santana’s.

After reading these reviews I was skeptical about coming here. But it was actually really good! The young gentleman and our waitress were pretty fast and very courteous. The food portions were pretty big and tasty, reasonably priced too! Will be back.

Unexceptable service, waited 40 minutes for food after being forgot about for 15 minutes. Then there was hair in the food and flavor was not there.

The only reason I continue to go here is because people host events here. The service isn’t bad but it isn’t good either. Maybe that’s because I don’t think highly of this place and expect low quality service. The events are military related and I have recommended for those groups to not use this restaurant anymore. The food is laughable because it reminds me of the frozen stuff you buy at Walmart and I honestly don’t know how anyone thinks it’s good. The margaritas are good though! If you go as a group THETIPISADDEDONYOURBILL which is fine but it’s not clear on the bill so lots of people end up adding onto it. They’ve never added a military discount and when asked for a gift card donation they never responded to the request. I don’t expect every company to be generous and add military discounts but when military groups host events frequently at your restaurant I expect it.

If you want this type of Mexican food, save your $ and go buy a Hungry Man TV dinner. That’s what the food tastes like anyway. The only reason they got 1 star is because they serve Sol beer.

My sister and I took a break from touring Joshua Tree N.P. to gas up the car and have a quick lunch. We exited the park by the north entrance so we found ourselves in 29 Palms. Neither of us had been there before so were unsure where to eat. We drove down highway 62 and mostly saw national fast food chains. We then came upon Edchada’s and decided to give it a try. It was 12:30 pm on a Saturday and there were only four cars in the lot, which made us wonder how good the food would be. We were quickly seated and provide fresh warm chips and tasty house made salsa. My sister first ordered a side of guacamole that was fresh and flavorful. For entrees my sister ordered albondigas and I ordered the cheese enchilada combo. They arrived steaming hot and cooked to perfection. Our meal was awesome. We finished shortly after 1:00 pm. By then the parking lot was quite full!

Perfect strawberry margaritas!!! Fresh berries, boozy, yum town :)) But seriously, save urself the thinking and just get the 32 ouncer. It’s really that good! Also they make food instead of just serving up some frozen tamales… they were super fresh and awesome. My poor hubby only got 2 tortillas with his fajitas… only time we wanted to ‘Ramsey-out’ on these punks. The server tried to discount the xtra torts for us, which was a very sweet gesture. Especially after hearing us bitch about a fajita meal with 2 tortillas! «This is entrapment!» My husband exclaimed, «Now we haaaave to buy xtra tortillas…» Wah wah! The verdict. Come here. Better than any mexi in this mili-town! Mmmhmmmm.

After a 9 hour drive to Joshua Tree, we were hungry and tired and ended up at Edchadas at around 9pm. The restaurant is fairly large, and it was mostly empty. We were immediately seated and were served warm chips and very watery soup-like salsas. Since I was starving, I ordered the tres amigos, which was a giant combo plate consisting of a crispy beef taco, pork tamale, and a cheese enchilada, accompanied with refried beans and shredded lettuce. In summary, the food was nasty. The crispy taco was still cold in the middle, the cheese enchilada was inedible, however the pork tamale was sort of OK. There’s really not a lot of choice near Joshua Tree, so the nicest I can say is that there was a lot of food, it filled me up, and amazingly, I didn’t get sick afterwards. I would not want to go back though.
