Broken card reader. Asked how long it’s been that way. «A while» he says. I ask if there are any plans to fix it. «Eh». Yeah this business is just an ATM machine for the owner. I would definitely not bring my car here for anything.

TRUST!!! Is there a stronger word that can be used to describe a mechanic? I met Oscar of course during a time of desperation as my transmission crapped out on me. I was towed by AAA to this shop as the driver actually takes his own cars there as well… made me feel good.
Not only did Oscar explain everything to me and give me a fair price he hooked me up with a loaner car for a few days. Granted it wasn’t the best car but it was the thought that counts and I appreciated that.
Here’s where the story gets good. There were some problems that took place that could have derailed this entire feel good story but rather than Oscar making excuses he took care of things. The owner of the station paid for the rental car. Trust me when I say that I’ve shared this story with many many people and all of them were in shock that I was treated so well. Oscar is a man of high integrity and clearly the owner must be as well (never met the man).
My car is old and has some issues. We talked the other day about shocks, tires and the ABS system. As a consumer I still want to make sure I am getting a fair deal… so I shopped Oscars quotes (heck don’t we all want to get a good deal). Then I called Oscar and asked him about the cost of the shocks, the type of shock… and in the end he told me to use another shop for the work but before I do make sure to ask them some questions. So I took Oscars advice and asked more specific questions around the quoted repairs and long story short they misquoted me… Oscar wins again.
My car is with Oscar right now getting fixed and as long as I have my old 2000 GMC Yukon with 250K miles… he’ll be my guy.

I was towed here by the suggestion of the AAA tow truck driver. First of all let me just say Oscar and Paul have been so helpful and amazing. They have been honest with me from the get go. They do not make a commission on the vehicles. They never tried to pressure me or upsell me on the work I needed done. They treated me and my car like princesses. This should be the first place you go to when you have car troubles!!!

Since I live in the housing tract that is across the street from Tustin Vallero, I have gone to Tustin Vallero mechanics for several years. Although there seems to have been a lack-​of-​honesty problem with a mechanic named Big George some time ago, he no longer works there, and there has been a change in leadership, with very positive results. Oscar runs the shop, and is very friendly, and exceptionally attentive, honest, and easy to work with. He often does nice things above and beyond what is expected. I strongly recommend the current mechanics here.

I visited this location by chance because the smog test only location on Redhill and El Camino Real had the mechanic on lunch break at 1:30p so here I am. Lucky me to be greeted by friendly and handsome men! The service provided was fast and professional. I learned at the end of my short visit that one of them were the owner. Sweet! He has a respectful relationship with his employee because I thought they were on the same level.
I was also able to witness a repeat customer’s convo with them and the customer was pleased with the service previously so he came back. I honestly do not want to deal with car smog test or car troubles but if I need another, I am going back to this location and telling my friends about it. Happy New year!

I’d give them negative Stars if I could. But apparently I have to give them something or it won’t post. I give them one star because at least I was able to park the car there for 2 days while I could clear my head and find a decent mechanic OTHER THAN THEM.
I was referred to the mechanic’s shop by a guy named Johnny from Tony’s tow service, I guess they’re contracted out by AAA., whom I had called initially for the tow. Anyways, Johnny from the tow company is very VERY insistant that I go to them, plus it’s midnight, nothings open, and it was street sweep that morning, n needed to get it moved somewhere, anywhere. I really didn’t want a street sweep ticket n didn’t know where else to tow the car at that time. He says ask for Big George n tell him I sent you. He’ll help you out.
Good ol Big George told me I needed a new serpentine belt and that. I quote. «it’s completely shredded». And also That I needed a new air compressor, and an oil change. And quoted me $ 1,350.00!!!
Needles to say I took it somewhere else, oh and guess what, SUPRISE!!! My serpentine belt was not only NOT shredded. It was fine. I did however need a new new compressor… I bought a used one taken from an old car. And it only cost me $ 350. Plus $ 100. for labor.
Most of these other reviews are about oil changes or gas prices, which iv never stopped in for so couldn’t evaluate or at this point even care, because I won’t be back. However, If your looking for some actual mechanic work, don’t come here unless you want butt raped. Oh and they rifled through all my stuff. I’m missing a couple lighters, half a pack of smokes and god knows what else. They even went through the back of the car which they had absurdly no need to be back there in the first place! Assholes!!! Speaking of, I need to go check n see if they jacked my jumper cables, just got it back. lastnight from the other place n forgot to check

I get it… It’s 2:30 AM and that is really late to be working a part time job. Chances are, if you work at a gas station this late. It isn’t your only job and you are just trying to get by. On the contrary, it’s uncomfortable for a customer to wake up an employee of any business to get help. Honestly, my beef is with the owner of this gas station. Either you don’t care or you have no idea what happens in your business.

For $ 23, the speed and quality of customer service was excellent. It toon around 50min total. Leaving one star off because there wasn’t anywhere to sit. But overall, if you’re looking for a cheap and quick place to change your oil, this is a great place. Just get here early!

You gotta maintain your shit people!!! The yes button on pump 1 didn’t work, so i had to decline debit and run it as credit, no big deal…
Go inside to get my water, where Rahib manually inputs the price of the items i purchased. I don’t like this at all, because i’m not gonna waste energy verifying his correct key strokes.
Go back to my pump and try to press yes for receipt? yep, you guessed it. doesn’t work.
Go BACK inside to get my receipt and tell him the yes button is broken and he says «sorry».
Don’t say sorry, say you’re going to get it fixed!!!

Most corner gas stations are difficult to get to depending on your inbound path due to double yellows, traffic lights, schools, etc, but for me it’s really easy to stop in here on my to and from work. Parking to the west is ample with 3 entrances, but open space behind. I personally like their gas and the pump’s measuring. They usually let me fill to the brim while other stations stop short. The service here is great. The amenities and items inside are maybe average though. It’s not bright or big or super clean like other Valero’s and sometimes they have those annoying waterless carwash guys or window crack repair people.

The non service that I received was… the dude just rubbed me the wrong way. First off, I had to wait for him to return from his lunch then when he returned, he had this annoyed look on his face when I told him I was there to redeem the coupon for an oil change and tire rotation. He told me it would take 1.5 hours to do this b/​c there was 1 car ahead of me. Seriously?! I told him I couldn’t wait the 1.5 hours so i would come back, which he responded to «come back in the morning».
So no actual work was done but the «customer service» I didnt received made me not want to come back.
So after making a few phone calls and searching for coupons, Valero had the best deal for an oil change & tire rotation. As much as I didn’t want to come back, it only cost me $ 25.00 for both things done, including disposal & labor fee, etc.
He was in a nicer mood today and only took an hour w/​2 cars ahead of me. He didn’t swindle me for anything more but did make his recommendations w/​o pressure. Much better service was received. Maybe he was moody b/​c he was hungry the other day, who knows.
If it wasn’t for the coupon, I wouldn’t have come back but now I’m glad I did.

Brought Penny Saver coupon $ 17.98 oil change including filter and free tire rotation. I wanted to change my own oil, but last night I could not get the nut loose no matter what. It was 4:45pm and they acted like my business was an inconvenience to them even though they close at 6.
My car was second in line and they estimated 1.5 hours, but I didn’t care because I needed it done today. Left for 15 min. to explore nearby shops because I thought they wouldn’t get to my car yet — BIG MISTAKE. Came back to find they were trying to pull the ol’ switch-​er-​oo with my air filter because I’m a girl. I just checked my air filter yesterday and distinctly remembered it looking quite clean. They obviously grabbed an old one and tried to play me. I even TOLD them that I just checked mine and it looked fine yesterday, but what else could I do? They were already draining my oil and if I called them liars to their faces, I’d be risking more future issues to my car. I took the blow as a lesson learned, but opened my trunk and installed MY OWN air filter I was planning to return to Kragen. So their scam still backfired.
When they were replacing the oil filter, I asked to inspect it because I have been duped before. Noticed minor scratches/​etching on the metal on top just inside the rubber washer thingy. I brought it to their attention and they claimed that’s just how they come from the manufacturer. Since I’m no expert and never seen a cleaned-​out USED filter before, I couldn’t really refute that, so I sighed and just let it go again.
When paying, they added a $ 3.00 hazardous waste fee (which should have been stated in the damn add!), so it came out to $ 22.29 including tax. Pulling away, it dawned on me that they never rotated my tires. I guess they only do it if you mention it. Since they already had a car on the lift and everything felt a bit off, I just shrugged it off as ANOTHER lesson learned and left, never to return.
At least they finished it up in under an hour, which isn’t «fast», but far better than 1.5 hours they estimated.
The fellas weren’t rude, but they weren’t exceptionally friendly either. I’m sure they were just counting down to the weekend like we all do. I also don’t think they’re devious scammers, it’s just unfortunately how businesses like that get by these days. Yea, it’s kinda immoral, but they take advantage of ignorant customers like me to survive I guess. I tell myself that anyway. In the world of auto maintenance, the more you learn to do yourself, the better. As long as I’m too lazy to learn, technicians will continue to take advantage. It’s the way it is. =/

This place is usually pretty cool but avoid late night visits… an evil little troll is usually on duty!

The gas prices are nothing special here. The TVs are pretty entertaining and the traffic report is very useful. The only problem I have with this gas station is the over hang above the pumps. When they removed the latch that made the pumps stay on without holding it, my arms would get super soaked.

When I drove to Thrifty Oil and saw they had ‘out of order’ signs on the ATM Pay box, I said screw this, I’m going to Valero. It’s located on the corner of Redhill and Walnut near the Freshia shopping center. Their gas was the same price anyway.
They have these upgraded pumps with the charge card slot at each pump so there is no silly time wasting having to walk into the gas station to pay for your fuel. They also have these annoying monitors that play advertisements while you pump. Honestly, I can do without that crap and wish they had a mute button. Other than the ²⁴⁄₇ commercials on the monitors and fact that it felt like it took 10 minutes for my gas tank to fill up, it’s an OK place.

OK, so gas IS usually cheaper here than any place else within a 20 mile radius. Maybe by 10 cents or more! I drive this way to work, so when i’m getting low on petrol I always make it a point to swing on by after work.
I had to deduct a star because it can get packed around 5−6pm, usually when i have the time to go. Other than the wait during rush hour, it is definately worth it to save money every time i fill up.
AND… I dont get very good gas mileage so i am there frequently.

Close to home, but I would go out of my way to get gas here if I were in the area. It’s cheaper than the other stations, cleaner and it’s the first station that i’ve seen that has those newer pumps with the lcd displays showing the news.

This has got to be one of my favorite gas stations in the area. Not only do they have new pumps, they also often have the cheaper gas and while you’re pumping your gas, you can watch the TV screens positioned above the pumps which give you traffic updates and general news updates depending on when you pull into the station. After all, it doesn’t take THAT long to pump gas so you’re not really able to watch a lot in the 5 minutes you’re there.
