I love this place. The service is quick. The food is fantastic. I usually have the tuna on wheat sandwich. The freshness of the food is one of the reasons why I continue coming back. Even though the place it’s small they have a large menu.

Great for breakfast! I come here often for their breakfast burritos. They are super cheap(less than $ 5) and super yummy!

Really enjoyed this today. We went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, and the place was pretty full. Good service, great prices! New owner was very polite. My husband got a meatball sub, which was huge, with a generous side of macaroni salad and a drink for $ 6.95. I got a french dip, also generous size, with a side of soup and a drink. The food was good(meatball sub especially), definitely a good deal for the price. The board doesn’t list what is in the sandwiches, which I would have liked to know for some of the non-obvious choices. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

This deli was pretty damn good. Not sure what some are talking about with their service. The service was great. He said he was the new owner and we had a good conversation about each other’s businesses. So the food. The menu looks like it just consists of the classic sandwiches, but they also do have breakfast burritos. I was in the mood for either a meatball sandwich or a pastrami and ended up going with the pastrami on rye, the home made potato salad and a soda. All for under $ 9!!! The sandwich was hot, pastrami was juicy and flavorful and the rye was perfectly toasted. I am a potato salad connoisseur, and found that theirs was perfect. Creamy, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of mustard mixed in. I’m definitely going back soon. You should check it out. There’s a little chef statue out front, holding a board with the specials.

Service: Not really great or really bad. I would have appreciated more help with the menu, or even being handed a paper menu when I had questions. I was trying to order off the board above the counter and wanted to know what was in items. Eventually I found the menus though. The cashier was nice enough. I was greeted and my order was taken politely. She also waved as I was leaving. I didn’t hear when my food came up and the chef happened to be walking by and gave me a tap on the shoulder to let me know. That was much appreciated. I was the only person there at the time. Food: I can’t have too much bread, so I opted for a salad to save my carbs for something else. Salad was on the low end of average for a little less than $ 8. I wasn’t expecting much and ended up being impressed. The chicken on the blt salad was perfectly cooked. It was a little salty, but I’m sensitive to salt. The lettuce was fresh, crisp and tasty. Tomatoes were really fresh too, just wish they were bigger chunks and had more. Overall, it was w fantastic deal for what I got. The food is served in plastic ware and on trays. I wasn’t crazy about that, but what do you expect in place like oscars? Décor: The place is small. Not too much seating, so if probably lean towards ordering Togo. It was also a little dated looking and I wasn’t sure what they were going for. It was extremely clean though. Cleanliness is the most important factor, so I’m willing to let go of my thoughts on the table clothes. Overall, I enjoyed my food more than I expected and I can see myself coming back.

Another great lunch spot in Tustin. Maybe even 4.5 stars? Oscar’s is an old-fashioned, no-frills kind of deli. The menu is pretty diverse — you can find anything from a breakfast burrito to a bacon cheeseburger to a tuna melt. The service is polite, but to the point. Don’t expect to be babied. I opted for the lunch special. For just $ 5.99, I got a chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad, and soda. Yeah, you read that correctly…$ 5.99! Chicken salad sandwich was fresh, creamy, and not too mushy. The pasta salad had a nice zing to it as well. My only regret? Not choosing a soup with my lunch combo. My co-workers got the chicken noodle and chili bean soups. Both looked home-cooked and delicious. The soups change daily, so make note of the menu. The interior isn’t huge, but there is adequate seating along with a couple of plasma TV’s. Parking isn’t a problem in the plaza.

I highly recommend Oscar’s Deli. I’ve been enjoying Oscar’s on a regular basis for the last 15 years. Try and come by on Friday’s. The Tuna Melt with the Claim Chowder is fabulous!

Best breakfast burrito! I order the Oscars burrito no peppers or onions add avocado… Wow it’s the best!!! It’s true the man who takes your order can me rude. I just laugh he’s an old school business man. The sandwiches here are great as well and great portions … It is a bang for your buck really. Customer service here a 2 star review. Food here a 5 star review!!! So he lost a star because he’s a grump lol! However if you’re starved in the morning I recommend the breakfast burrito hands down the best!!!

The food is good but the service is terrible! The owner is not nice, never greets you and doesn’t have manners. I called in an order one day and he said«15 minutes», I said«I can be there in five». To which he responded«OK, you come in five and wait ten minutes». This was at 8am mind you, no one was even there. Its not like it was even lunch time rush. Not ever spending my money there again. And just fyi — this wasn’t the first time I’ve experienced his attitude. The other times I was just hungry and let it go. I’d rather go to subway or Jack in the Box from now on.

Will be back to try breakfast burrito and other items if I can steer away from my new veggie sando craving I’m sure to have!

I’ve been a regular here since 2007. The owner can be rude, often will not greet customers… Prefers to shout«Next!» instead of «Hello.» Can probably count the amount of times he’s smiled or laughed in his lifetime. If one asks what kind of cheese they have,(because it’s a deli), he will respond by saying, «the sandwich comes with American cheese.» Which is the answer to a different question(Pro-tip for the owner: some people might actually want something different). The only reason to eat here is the low prices. If you can tolerate the grumpy, rude, inconsiderate, no customer service-having owner, then you’ll be fine.

Love everything they have here to eat! From the homemade chicken noodle soup to the chicken and bacon quesadilla! Food takes a little longer to wait for because it is a small kitchen with only 2 cooks but the food is always good!

I called and ordered a couple trays of sandwiches for my baby shower, when I was given the price I was confused. I asked the owner why the prices on the website were different than what i was being quoted. They were charging me $ 15 more a tray than what’s listed. The Owner was extremely rude and basically told me that they changed the prices for the new year and he won’t go back on it then jumped to cancel my order. He also said that at some point in the future he’ll update the website and hung up on me. If you’re advertising for your business it’s very important to have all marketing current and not have conflicting information. I’m sure he’ll have a few more unsatisfied customers especially if he treats them the way I was treated. I know at least 10 people that order from this deli, they will all hear about this.

I laugh at all the reviews commenting on the grumpy old man who takes the order. He may not be the friendliest guy, but he makes the best sandwiches and salads. My husband and I come here at least once a month. We order the submarine sandwich with a side of pasta or potato salad. The bread is soft and fresh. He uses quality meats and you can taste the quality. His selection of homemade salads are amazing. I especially like the pasta salad. This is a wonderful local, neighborhood deli shop. I definitely recommend.

3.5 Its really inexpensive, I mean cheap. They have any kind of sandwich you can imagine grilled or cold. Each sandwich comes with a side, that is about a solid full cup. 6 different salads to choose from: ambrosia, pasta, coleslaw, fruit, potato, cucumber. Tuna melt was a-ok, nothing special, and I didnt care for the potato salad too mushy, not enough flavor. They have dirt cheap salads, which is what I will be getting next time. Everyone raves about the soup and breakfast burritos. I just wish the service was more animated and alive. The front counter person probably would have had to be paid thousands of dollars to crack a smile, it was kinda sad.
