Very good Persian food, can get packed on Sunday parking is tight small tables noisy but food is very good, slow service when busy, Kabobs Are out of this world

Get the chicken. I don’t usually order the chicken preferring the lamb but I’ll never go back. Juicy, tender, charred worth flavor.

Great prices and good food. I always order the combination koubideh with cranberry rice. Their shish kabobs are very tender too (hubby orders these). Service is sometimes slow but good food is worth the wait IMO.

Wow this place was amazing. It was kind of hard to fine at the beginning but once we got there at the service was excellent and the food was even more impressive. I ordered the kebab and it was so delicious to a point that I had to leave these guys a great review. So yes go there and order the kebab and enjoy it like I did

This place is great! It wasn’t my first time having the food here and I’m always delighted by the experience, so I decided to give them a review!
I got lentil soup as their appetizer, which was very hearty and was a perfect combo with their complimentary naan bread that comes with fresh onion and butter.
For the main entrée, I got the #39 chicken and lamb kebob. For $ 11.50, you get a good portion of food that leaves you very satisfied as it comes with 2 big kabobs and a LOT of rice. Overall, the rice was nice and fluffy and the chicken and lamb kebobs were fantastic! It wasn’t too dry and it was very flavorful. I also ordered the yogurt with cucumber which I poured on top of my rice, YUM! This place doesn’t disappoint!
The only thing I found to be a slight problem with this place was the lack of parking so get there early if your doing lunch.

I’ll keep this one short and sweet. I’m of the middle eastern persuasion so I know a thing or two about this type of food. This place is good and a nice deal. It’s a casual middle eastern place. Not quite fast food, not quite full fancy table service. There are VERY FEW Persian/​Middle Eastern places that occupy this middle ground. Most are quickie kabob places or nicer restaurants like Darya or Caspian that are pricey. Of course there are «better» places for this type of food but when getting any type of food you don’t always go to the crème de la crème. Sometimes you want to be satisfied and keep it simple. I wish this place was by my work so I could hit it up for lunch, or closer to my house so I could do some pick up every once in a while. For quality of food, price, and convenience combined, and meeting a consumer need. .. Cinco Estrellas

I should have driven the extra miles and went to Saffron grill UGH! So I was craving koubideh like a mofo. I looked up some spots in the area. I went to a place and they were already closed grrrr. So fired up the Unilocal app and found this spot. I almost got lost trying to find this spot and boy what a random spot it’s in. Next to a coin laundry and a dive bar with suspect looking people coming and going LOL. So when I walked in I sat at a table for a quick minute and the busy waiter finally gave me a menu. I looked through it and knew what I wanted immediately but I wanted to see if anything else stood out. So I ordered the combo koubideh plate, one with chicken and other with beef with the usual charred tomato and rice. I also ordered some hummus and paneer sabzi. The wait time was not long and the service was nice enough. Grabbed my food and I was on my merry way :)
Get home and tear open my food. The paneer sabzi was not what I expected. I should have googled some pics before ordering LOL. It’s like a big block of white cheese and not soft enough to spread, just crumble over the lame bread they give you. If I see a certain product in a restaurants namesake, that shit better be good. There is no authentic Naan to be had here AT ALL! It was like lavesh bread you get at Trader joes UGH! I would spread hummus on this bread and the hummus was sooooooo bland. I had to breath life into it –_​-​. My Koubideh dinner was half good. The chicken koubideh was excellent. So moist, so flavorful, somehow the beef was polar opposite. Dry, flavorless and tasted toooooooo charred. The rice was good and plentiful. Those two were the saving grace of this lackluster meal.
I rarely have a bad meal and when I do, I’m filled with some much regret and anger. You never forget a bad meal. Safe to say, I’m not coming back. I will try Luna grill down the road and if they suck, I’m trekking to Saffron grill !!!

The food was just eh– not the best but still good. The restaurant doesn’t offer much of anything in terms of ambiance, but that’s to be expected in the small strip it’s located in, next to a dive bar. The service was ok but slow (only one waiter). They don’t have a soda tap, so no refills on drinks.
Very big menu and generous servings. Authentic middle eastern food, but there’s better around town. They seemed very busy on the takeout side of things.
They are also guilty of my restaurant pet peeve– they began stacking chairs on tables while we (and two other tables) were still eating. Not the kindest message to send to restaurant patrons. Sure, you’re closed, but allow people to enjoy their meal without feeling rushed.

Really good Persian food! They are super busy at lunch time with big orders and dining in. I would give it five stars but the service was so so. The price is pretty good for what they offer. When I come here I usually leave satisfied! The chicken is cooked perfectly and you’ll notice how juicy it is with each bite. It still taste just as good if you reheat the food at a later time when you take it to go. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for kabobs!

My brother use to swear by this place! We use to frequent it because we live 5 mins away. Although after he moved, I never went back and of course when he came back, this was the place he wanted to stop at first.
They start you off with a salad (lettuce, tomatoes dressing. Nothing fancy), raw onion, butter and lavash.
I always want to try a bit of everything so I tend to order the chix kabob and koubideh. It always comes out looking great, nice whole roasted tomatoes, a bed of rice and your choice of protein.
Although, the protein is good, at times moist, other times dry… I tend to only remember the drying times. I always end up putting the rest of my hummus with my rice or having the rice soaking up as much tomato juice as possible.
Oh and parking is sometimes a B here

The food was good but didn’t blow me away. The service was EH… Not friendly but not rude, nothing special.
If you want Persian food in Tustin this place would be worth a shot. The parking lot is super small so you may have to park in the adjacent parking lot.

I’m a huge fan of Persian food. HUGE!
A colleague brought a group of us here years back and I was hooked. I already had an addiction to the food; however this place solidified it.
The restaurant itself is kinda old and dingy but that’s ok. I feel like this type of environment means that the focus is always and only on the food.
Be sure to try the usual suspects of hummus, beef koobideh and if you’re feeling risky definitely try the stews, I recommend the ghormah sabzi.

I’m very close to this restaurant so I do frequent here often if I don’t want to do the drive to other kabobs towards/​in Irvine. If you’re in a rush, it is an absolute must that you call in your order, food takes about 15 – 20 minutes.
There is usually only one server to accommodate everyone. Service isn’t prompt here so have patience or be lucky, I believe there is a minimum on credit/​debit cards which is $ 10.
If you dine in, you’ll get a free house salad with naan, onion, lime & butter. If you do a take out order, you get everything but the house salad. The meat here has proven to be nice and juicy, sometimes I’ve had mine over cooked but that is like ²⁄₅ times I’ve had it. It’s a small down to earth hole in the wall type of restaurant, nothing fancy. I will always come here for lunch — or more like — call in and order it for take out for lunch :)

In a small strip mall with limited parking, this eatery provides reasonably priced lunch specials. I decided to give this place a try. I love Persian food and miss it after I stopped working in Los Angeles. This restaurant is tiny but the food is tasty. The to go option makes up for the lack of seating.
I tried the chicken shish kabob and was summarily disappointed. It was a little dry and bland. Frankly, I am used to more intense flavors in this type of food. However, the star of the day was the koobideh. It was far more flavorable. I would come back just for that.
The customer service is just ok. No one is overtly rude – but no one is friendly either. The waitstaff did not add to the dining experience at all.

I need to update my review on Naan & Kabob because they have stepped up their food, service and overall dining experience.
Hubby and I recently went to Naan & Kabob and had a great experience. We ordered:
(1) Onion w/​Naan
The complimentary onion and naan were fresh and delish!
(2) Large Hummus
The hummus is DELISH … very fresh and refreshing
(3) Small Shirazi
I luv eating my main meal with the cubed tomatoes, onions, and herbs over my rice.
(4) Cornish Hen and Chicken Koobideh
My entrée was served with a cup of lentil soup and I requested my entrée to be served with half salad and half rice with two tomatoes. My cornish hen and chicken koobideh were perfectly cooked and seasoned … very yummy!
(5) Boneless Breast Kabob
Hubby always enjoys his dish which he always says is very moist.
Naan & Kabob serves wonderful Persian entrees and they offer lunch specials during Saturday. I just wish Naan Kabob would move to Huntington Beach so the drive wouldn’t be so far You will definitely receive a great Persian meal at Naan Kabob with friendly service in a casual atmosphere. 4 Stars!

If you’re looking for an express Persian kabob house near Irvine, Naan and Kabob is the place to go. As I’ll describe later, it’s not the best, but it’s budget-​friendly and a decent option for take-​out. As the restaurant name implies, the menu is centered around kabob and nan (more specifically lavash bread). There aren’t many choices for Persian stews, the focus is on permutations of skewered meats and specialty rice that is relatively simple to prepare. Here, you won’t be served a plate of mints and radish with lavash as you would at higher end Persian restaurants, but you do get served Persian tea after the meal.
After having an outstanding koobideh plate at House of Kabobs in Irvine, I was slightly let down by the same meal from Naan & Kabob. I guess you get what you paid for (dish at House of Kabob cost 50% more and tasted 50% better). The chicken and beef koobideh here were overcooked and severely underseasoned, it seemed to be missing salt & pepper, plus flavor of meat that is blended with onion. In addition, the koobideh (particularly the beef) was a bit rigid and slightly tough to chew, similar in texture to the dried out koobidehs served at Persian buffets.
The other half of my plate was filled with reasonably moist rice. I had substituted basmati rice with adas polo for $ 2.35, which was worth it because there was no way I could eat plain boiled basmati with bland meat. I would have liked it more if the raisin to lentil ratio were reduced to a 1:1 balance, since the caramelized raisins were too sweet. Compared to the adas polo at House of Kabob, the one at Naan & Kabob was lower on grease but less flavorful.
Although the meal at Naan & Kabob was no doubt one notch lower than my favorites including Raffi’s (Glendale), Original Kabob Factory (Glendale), Hatam (Mission Viejo), or Farsi Café (Westwood), it was inexpensive and filling for just under $ 12. While many restaurants have tacked on a dollar or two for each dish this past summer due to the rising cost of ingredients, there hasn’t been a price hike at Naan & Kabob over the past 2 years. Thank you!
Despite the average experience I had at Naan & Kabob, I may still consider revisiting during lunch time. There are lunch specials for under $ 10, that includes a bowl of ash-​reshteh and a kabob plate, which is unbeatable.

Make sure you’re ok with parking on the street cuz the parking lot of this palce is tiny as fuck. it only holds like 10 cars or something and shares its parking lot with other businesses. bleh.
I believe anything you get, they’ll give you naan as well as a salad. Keep in mind, i went during dinner. Lunch may be different.
I ended up getting the boneless chicken kabob with koobideh and rice… ive been to my fair share of Persian restaurants, but this place has one of the tastiest chicken… its marinated extremely well and it was juicy. the koobideh was just alright… nothing special about it, but it was tasty as well. i highly recommend the chicken!
they also have the ground up pomegranate seeds to use as seasoning. please use it… it adds an extra depth of flavor to any dish.
the mininum amount for credit cards is 10 bucks.
also, i didn’t try the yogurt drink… but i saw a was pretty funny. this dude was shaking it to mix the drink and yogurt around. and when he opened it, white drink spilled all over his pants. lets just say this restaurant gives out happy endings. lol

Interesting location for this restaurant. It is located in a plaza next to a laundromat, dry cleaners and a dive bar called Godfather I. There is a decent amount of open parking spots during lunchtime. Once you go inside, you see that the décor looks a bit plain and outdated. The restroom is clean and well maintained.
After looking at the menu, I decided to get the Chicken Soltani lunch special (1 skewer of chicken barg and 1 skewer of chicken koobideh). The plate also came with a side salad. The side salad was plain terrible. There was way too much dressing and tasted too strong and tangy. Luckily, the rest of plate made up for that. Both skewers were cooked to perfection and was pretty juicy. The rice tasted great as well. The addition of the tomato is needed as no sauce was added to the chicken.
The service was pretty good here. The food came to our table fairly quickly. Overall, I enjoyed the food here and will be coming here to try the other different lunch specials as well.
