Food I ok but fresh, prices are normal for Chinese food places. The main issue I had was I came in and the girl working there completely ignored me. I understand she was filling an order but she should have at least acknowledged me by saying hello. I awkwardly stood there waiting for a while while she finished the order. I almost walked out

I have been coming here since I worked at Radio Shack that used to be across the street! I don’t know the owners name. but he always smiles when you walk in. so I have dubbed him«Smiley». Anyways, love this place, and I wouldn’t know what to do without it. Everything is always fresh and can’t complain about a single thing. Long live Smiley and Irvine Chinese!

Good fast service, the lunch special comes with a free drink, and the servings are pretty good. Overall good Chinese food, should of tried the jalapeño chicken, next time it will be a must

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. I love this place. I have been here dozens of times and always look forward to stopping by when I visit my folks in Tustin. Yes, it is just Chinese fast food, but I love it. The Jalapeño Chicken is delicious and they always prepare a Sweet and Sour Pork on request. The owner, Tom, and his staff are always friendly and the service fast. No it’s not PF Changs, but for the price the food is wonderful. I strongly suggest you stop by and give yourself a treat!

Just ate here today. Been here way back in the day. Good food considering the price. I ordered Orange Chicken, Jalapeño Chicken, which came with steamed rice and chow mein. The Orange Chicken could have been crispier-a little too soggy. The chow mein was whatever. Steamed rice tasted like steamed rice. Jalapeño chicken had good flavor but could be a lot more spicier-not spicy at all. Price was around $ 7. The two item combo I ordered also came with a small drink. Overall, this place is a god choice if you are in the area and want to grab a quick and cheap lunch or dinner. I gave this place Four stars based on overall value.

Quality of food has gone down. Never coming back again. Owner won’t care cause its just one customer to him. The tall guy with glasses served me and there was barely any chow mein, rice, or orange chicken… I’d rather pay 3 bucks more for panda express tbh.

Large portions and Fresh Food. This place gets pretty busy, which is a good sign since the food is always fresh. Highly recommend if you want to satisfy your Chinese food fix.

My hairdresser had moved to this strip mall so I thought I’d come early and check out an eatery here. Irvine Chinese Food popped up when I Google mapped the address so I thought. hmmm…ok, some decent reviews… why not give it a try. I didn’t have too high an expectation since I’d never heard my foodie friends ever talk about this place, so I went in with an open mind. It’s actually a small hole in the wall type Chinese fast food joint… with a hot food bar to choose your hot selections from… with just a few small tables inside so I’m assuming that most people come here for take out. The guy behind the counter seemed very nice and polite, happily answered my questions, and took my order. You get the choice of a 1,2, or 3 item combo and it all comes in the usual styrofoam take out box… with additional boxes if the 3rd item doesn’t fit… and it won’t because they give a pretty hefty portion, which is very good! I chose the BBQ chicken, mixed veggies, and stir fried string beans with pork… and this comes with your choice of chow mein noodles or rice… I took the noodles. And, the combos come with a soda, but I chose hot tea instead… I don’t think I was charged extra for this. The bbq chicken is marinated the same as the bbq pork so you have the choice of the two. I must admit that it was surprisingly juicy and tasted quite delicious… my only complaint would be that my piece had quite a bit of yucky chicken fat on it that I bit into. The sauce with the string beans with pork was a bit starchy, but the mixed veggies was simple and nice. The noodles were quite good too… not too salty or mushy. There was so much food that I think this was the first time in a while that I couldn’t finish the noodles… and I even had a good workout at the gym this morning! Overall, the food was decent… for a fast food eatery. However, I probably won’t be making any special out of my way trips to eat here again… maybe if I happen to be in the area.

It’s average. You do get a lot of food which makes for a great value however, there is nothing spectacular about this fast food Chinese food spot. I will say that the people working here are really friendly and nice. For somewhere fast and cheap with a lot of food come here.

My friend told me about this place and she was right some of the best Chinese I have had. I don’t know if any real good Chinese in Fullerton so on the way home we stopped to pick up dinner. Worth every penny. Got the family meal and a side of BBQ pork. The BBQ pork was so delicious. Normally I get BBQ pork some pieces are good and some are dried up and some are fresh but this was so fresh and tasty. The best. Highly recommend this place. Next I will try the jalapeño chicken.

I’ve always had a decent experience here, but nothing to rave about(but also nothing to rant about either). Their food is just«ok». Some of their selections are better than others — I highly recommend their Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. I am normally a lover of orange chicken but can’t do the orange chicken here — there is way too much breading and it’s always very soggy. They do have pretty reasonable lunch specials during certain times of the day which you might want to take advantage of when you come down(I think it’s a free drink with any 2-item combo from 2−5pm or some such thing, but don’t quote me on that). Overall, it’s worth going to, but your experience will be hit or miss depending on what you order. I should say the service is always excellent, it’s obviously family-run which I love to support, and you’ll be in and out quite quickly regardless of when you come. I’ve also noticed big variations in portion size depending on who is serving you. YMMV.

I love this place. It’s always consistently good. Food is hot and served fresh. Cream Cheese Wontons are the business! I generally always order Wonton Soup. For around $ 6, you get a huge thing of soup with everything but the kitchen sink in it. The broth is super flavorful too. Their combos come with enough food to feed a small village. Hooray for leftovers :) I wish they were open a little later and on Sundays… and that I had a 2 item combo right now because writing this review has made me hungry!

My experience was good. It’s typical Chinese fare that you find in almost any Chinese restaurant that you can order without a menu. I had the pepper chicken, broccoli beef and chow mien. Everything was really tasty and not too salty, and what a steal! I think it was $ 6 with a drink. Pepper chicken could have used fresh black pepper instead of the bottled stuff(which is essentially black flavorless specs) to kick it up a notch, but I can’t complain. I know where I am and what I’m asking, though it is a very cheap and easy way to ring in more business. Chow mien was cooked nice, and the BB was pretty well rounded. The veggies weren’t cooked to baby food consistency, which was a pleasant surprise. I have had that more often than not from other places. I took it to go because it was about 90 degrees in there, but not a bad place to sit and eat on a colder day. That, or when they decide to run the A/C.

I ordered the two piece combo lunch. I got Jalapeño chicken(everyone suggested) and veggies. The J chicken is so yummy and the veggies are fresh and juicy. Really good Chinese food. The chow mein is pretty good. The friend rice is moist but not much taste. All in all this will be my go to Chinese place for now on. JALAPEÑO chicken rocks. Huge portions. 7 bucks.

Meh. The chow mein was pretty good but the beef and broccoli and orange chicken were no good. Maybe this goes in the column of you get what you pay for.

I’ve been going here since 1994 and I have to say its better than ever. its steam table Chinese and for what it is its damn good. First off you MUSTGETTHEJALAPENOCHICKEN. I don’t care what you like. Just get it and trust me. If you don’t like spice don’t eat the jalapenos. The chicken itself is not spicy at all. The flavor is wonderful and I love the huge pieces of chicken although some have written they are too big. I disagree totally. My second favorite dish is the mushroom chicken. Lots of zucchini and mushrooms and a light sauce with chicken, so good. The noodles are typical chowmein but never dry and fried rich is just filler. I love the owners, they really care and remember you even if you haven’t been there in years. I hop they stay open and make money for decades to come. We need to support more family run places like this instead of panda Express garbage chain restaurants.

This is my new go-to takeout chinese food place. The food isn’t bad, and they have a «lunch special» which includes a free soda. They have a fairly good stream of business, so the steam-table food is never too old, at least during lunch time. I would recommend this place over others in the area, for sure.

I have been coming here for almost 20 years and have never Unilocaled them since I have always been very impressed. I started coming when the current owners mom use to run it. The owner is SUPER friendly. Whenever I crave for spicy chicken I come here and Oder Jalapeños Chicken. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is cuz of two things; 1. Chicken pieces are always to big(should be bite size), 2. Noodles were blend no flavor for last few visits. hopefully the owner read this review and few others and implement smaller pieces of chicken for all their dishes. I will be back!

I don’t know how we ended up here. We wanted to try the Thai place across the street and that place was too crowded. We were in a hurry to find a place, so I guess Irvine Chinese Food will have to do. If I had more time, I would never eat a place that is called Irvine Chinese Food. The title makes it already sound like mediocre food. Food(2 stars): I was semi-right. I ordered the bbq pork, jalapeño chicken, and chow mein. The chow mein is your typical greasy noodles with vegetables. The jalapeño chicken was very spicy but the chunks of meat were really large which made it hard to chew and tear apart. The bbq pork was probably the best part of the meal, but they didn’t give much of it. My sister ordered the Orange Chicken and it was the same large Orange Chicken pieces that were hard to chew. The fried rice didn’t have much flavor and tasted like brown rice. Bottom line: Only if you’re in a hurry. I have been to other Chinese chop suey places that are much better, and probably cheaper.

Craving Chinese food so I looked around on Unilocal and came across this place. It wasn’t too far from my work so I decided to try it. When I came in, there was about 3 other people in front of me already and a line started to form of about 5 people after me! During lunch, you get a free drink with any purchase, but after a few sips… all you are left with is ice. What I got: All Chow Mein and Jalapeño Chicken($ 5): they charge extra 50 cents if you want all chow mein… I always get all chow mein and now I have to pay extra? Oh well… they did give me a lot though, but I saw a lot of veggies. The chow mein taste was okay… I’ve had better. I don’t see jalapeño chicken as much so I was deciding between that or orange chicken and jalapeño chicken won. It seriously is super spicy. I wasn’t being very smart and popped a whole slice of jalapeño into my mouth and my mouth was on fire so I tried cooling it down by eating the chicken, but the chicken was spicy too! I was surprised with the amount they gave me and I ended up eating half of my food before I was stuffed. Service: It went by fast for me. Pointed at what I wanted and I was out of there in about 10 minutes considering the lady in front of me took forever…
