Coco’s Family Restaurant

Met some friends at this Coco’s for late lunch. I don’t eat at Coco’s, but whatever. Food is food. The restaurant was pretty much empty. Maybe the waitress was having a bad day, but you can see her face that wasn’t charming. She kept talking to me in the 3^rd person. What does HE want? Does HE wants fries with that? Etc, etc. I get this often so whatever. Pretty bad service before she forgot to take my order while she got everyone else. Probably a honest mistake, but my friends needed to tell her that she didn’t take my order. Whatever. The food was good and great conversation with friends.

Well, the bread is good and the pie is tasty. That’s good right?!
The food, well, it’s pretty good and the service is decent. I’ve had good tasting stuff here, but won’t get all fancy. Usually I just stick to soup, salad or a breakfast item. You can’t really go wrong with those kind of plates. Don’t start trying to order fish or steak plates, this isn’t Morton’s.

Coco’s is usually just a solid 3 stars (I’ve had better, I’ve had worse) but I’ve always had a good experience at this location! The eggs Benedict is good (wish it was on an English muffin instead of brioche) and my bff always enjoys her French toast.
BUT what really bumps this location up a star is this awesome waiter! I forget his name, but he works weekend mornings and he is the best! Super fast, super friendly and always has a smile on his face.
I will continue to be a regular at this Coco’s!

Tonight, following our elementary school Christmas program, 7 families decided to descend on Coco’s for dinner with 13 adults and 11 children (elementary ages 4 to 9).
William R. was our server and took AMAZING care of each and every one of us perfectly. He even allowed us to have separate checks. The food was ALL hot, right and quick to come out of the kitchen. Kudos to your just incredible staff at this location in Tustin. Some of the families had never eaten dinner at your restaurant before and were absolutely impressed with the quality, both in product and in service. Especially the steaks and the cod. Thank you for being top-​notch (since it was my idea to go there ;) and you made me look good too). Have a blessed holiday season and keep up the great work! So impressive! And tell William R. (from receipt) how terrific he did, please!!! We will be back soon!

Very good breakfast, Friendly service, good prices. Got coffee, 2 eggs, country potatoes, turkey sausage, and 2 pancakes for $ 8.66.
The menu is extremely large AND gives you the calorie count for all items, which I love.
I didn’t get any pie seeing how it was 9 in the morning, but it looked delicious.

I feel like service here is always great and the staff are all very friendly. Most of the dishes I’ve ordered are all pretty good. My personal favorite is the shrimp scampi pasta. Occasionally, I would order something different but that’s my go to dish.

Ok here it goes … Coco’s is a cool chain. I don’t always visit chains but I find that they’re breakfast can be pretty decent. I have a thing for bran muffins and their bran muffin are GRrrreat ! Their served warm and you don’t to add any extras like butter. They’ve also upgraded their ordering system to tablets which is pretty cool.
This last family visit they actually forgot our order and we waited for a while. It was some type of ticket mishap. The manager walked right over and comped us a free pie. Nice of him to do that. I was able to walk away feeling good that at least I know that this is an establishment that tries to make up for any misunderstandings. They’re alright !

I’ve come here many times and have had great service and the food is always pretty good!
Unfortunately, today’s waitress was a little lacking on making sure we were tended to. I was left without a drink during the last half of my dinner. The salad and dinner plates were even left on the table until we ordered our pie. At that time, a dishwasher came and picked up the dishes. Kinda poor service to have all the dirty plates sitting on the table. Regardless of the poor service this time, the food was good and the pie was great.

I’ve been coming here on Friday mornings for about eight years now… I meet with 9 brothers from Old Town Tustin who love the Lord and put Jesus first in their lives! This is a comfortable, clean, accommodating place with a fair price and fresh delicious breakfasts. But what really makes us coming back is the staff. Friendly and attentive. Angel had been a staple here and we really appreciate him for his smile and consistency in taking care of us!

Stopped in with my daughter for a piece of pie and like always we are greeted nicely and great service. All employees are very friendly and management is exceptional, Denise was on tonight and she is very pleasant always smiling and always gives you her full attention when conversing. I am a regular here because of their great service and I do love their food from the salmon to the prime rib to of course the pie great for kids too!! A must come for a early dinner or a late meal. I went this morning to Coco’s Tustin. My booth had splits in the vinyl seat cushion bottoms, I looked around and it was filthy. Carpets had not been vacuumed in I don’t know how long. Hot water for tea came out lukewarm. I went to the men’s restroom and was horrified. The urinal had dried urine and who knows what else all over it (appeared to have been there for quite some time), and the urinal bowl itself was totally disgusting. I assume this is the same bathrooms the cooks and servers use! The restaurant in general was not very clean. I would not return to this. This is interesting, as I have called the parent company, Catalina Group (?) on numerous occasion complaining about various locations. They always tell me ‘we will have the manager for that area visit that restaurant’. I don’t know if it’s the management that’s the problem. I gave it two stars as the food was quite good. The photo of the urinal is posted to this restaurants photos (I think page 3). I’m hoping the restaurant manager will take notice.

I love their customer service here. Whenever I come, they’re always so happy, and I usually come at night for dinner!
I’ve had their clam chowder soup and I think it’s delicious! I also looooove their bread that they provide. I think I could eat just that and be satisfied.
Ohhhhh, their banana cream pie is to die for. My boyfriend and I had this tradition where we would try all their pies whenever we come in for soup, but when we tried their banana cream pie, that was what we stuck to. TRY IT! It’s so good especially when it comes fresh out of the oven. I wish I could have it every day.

To withhold Lemon Meringue Pie for the trumped up reason of an alleged egg shortage for whites is insulting and absurd ! My God … You sell eggs all day ! Separate the whites from yolks if you can’t order whites only. Don’t punish your customers ! Worst I have ever seen Cocos in over 45 years. Bread tastes awful ! Wing place that bought it is ruining it !

We sometime would come here just for the pie, especially the pumpkin pie, they have good selection of pie though. It also make me think, why make one at home with lot of hard work when you can get 7.99 pie here. But this price is usually for special discount pie only, regular is about 12.99.
I love their salmon and cod fish and the gravy smashed potatoes too and usually comes with special $ 20-​$ 25 for 2 entrée kind of deal which I think is pretty good!
Service is fine, the staff was friendly and we usually pay at the cashier after we finished the food.

My husband and I come here at least twice a week. Food is good. Prime rib is very good with great price! Excellent service. We love Maria, although all other servers are friendly and attentive. We hope this Coco’s won’t close like some other Coco’s.

I have not been to a Cocos for 20 years. A friend gave me a gift card so tried and was pleasantly surprised. The service in this location is outstanding and the food is a great value. Even the bread they give is very good.

Server was awful I got ignored for a good 15 min asked for the server to come and take my order 5 times. Then when we got to order I told her what I wanted and she said wait I ain’t ready wtf are you serious. Then we were telling her what we wanted and my husband wanted to order to she told him she wasn’t ready for him in a rude matter wow. Really im a cocos customer and every were else we go we order the same and no problem. They sure need to work on there people skills I had an older black lady server. cocos food is awesome that why I guess I put up with this crap

Nice place to come eat always professional and good customer service good food. You get a good amount of food
rather come here then norms or Denny’s especially Denny’s there a rip off and there service always sucks. Especially after coming here I realize how much I never want to go inside a Denny’s again… ever

Contacted Corp got a response from Susan Sullivan the operations manager and was told someone would follow up with me?
Not a peep? So emailed back and was told by Susan Sullivan that the area manager will follow up that was 8 days ago?
Emailed to ask if I should expect any follow through? And received an out of office reply from 6-​months ago.
I will be out of the office starting April 25 and returning April 29. I will be checking emails throughout the day while I am away and I will respond but there will be a slight delay.

All I can say is it appears this disorganized bunch is running what used to be a nice place to take the family straight into the ground!
And I am not holding my breath, seems coco’s is tanking their poor follow through to the next level according to other posts here. LOL

Will NEVER come here again!
Thought my first review was harsh, so I decided to try them again.
Called at 8pm on Saturday night for a pick up order, only to be told (after holding) that they were OUT of the Prime rib!
Seriously, do you order like 5 the whole weekend!
Will never ever ever ever order or come here again!
So upset that this place sucks so bad!
