I’ve gotten an airwave perm a few times here already. Their prices are awesome! $ 60 for just a perm, and $ 80 for a perm with haircut. I just finished getting my hair permed and it looks amazing! Mato is the best. :)

I always walk out of this hair salon feeling refreshed and loving my new hair cut! I just got a Japanese straight perm today and I am loving it! I have the craziest naturally curly/​frizzy hair and now my hair is silky smooth. The prices here are incredibly reasonable too! Mato is a skilled hair stylist with top notch Japanese hair styling technique and I’ll definitely be back again for my next cut!

I’ve come here a couple times and have gotten haircuts and a perm and have loved them all. Mato is great at what she does and she’s a real delight to talk with, too. Compared to other Japanese salons in the area the prices are very reasonable!

This was my first time here and I have to start off by saying that Mato is super wonderful! I usually hate getting my hair cut but she made me feel super comfortable and really listened to everything that I had to say.
Usually stylists do the opposite of what I want them to do with my hair but Mato seriously exceeded my expectations! I’m growing my hair out long but decided I needed a trim just to make for a more flattering shape. At first I must say I was worried that she was cutting too much off but once I saw the way she was sculpting my hair ever so perfectly I just let it happen. :P She has a very awesome cutting technique! The result is awesome, I really love it and will definitely be back here in a few months.

I came here about 3 – 4 times for a haircut and also a partial highlights treatment. The stylists do a fantastic job, but they just take FOREVER. The place is empty and I’m sitting there for 2 hours while the hairdresser is chatting away. I got places to be on the weekend! I don’t really think a haircut should take 2 hours, do you? That’s really what stopped me from coming back.
Also I never know if my hairstylist is going to be there, this place seems to be a revolving door for hairdressers. New faces every time I come in which can’t be a good sign.

Must ask for Kayo! She is an amazing hair stylist. She is talented, fun, and thoughtful. She makes great recommendations to best fit your style. I am a loyal customer of Kayo!

I have been seeing Kayo Iwaki since 2009 and now that she moved from East-​West Hair to Circa 92, I followed her! Kayo is actually the first stylist I’ve ever stuck with. Before I used to just bop around and even use the cheap chain stores. No matter what I paid, my haircuts ranged from meh to sucky. Kayo is really skilled, has very reasonable prices and has an adorable personality to boot! She takes my face shape (oval) and hair structure (semi-​fine) into consideration and I’ve never been disappointed. I have her direct # now (714−887−9797) so it will be easier to make appointments with her.
Circa 92 has apparently been under Japanese ownership for a couple years. It’s a step up from East-​West Hair’s digs and the location is just as convenient. Kayo speaks English well enough that we’ve never had a communication problem.
TIP: Google maps is wrong so do this: From Macarthur Blvd. go north on Macarthur Pl. (toward the T-​Mobile office tower). Take first left on First American Way. You won’t see any street sign for Macarthur Crescent but you’ll be on a crescent-​shaped street. You’ll see Quiznos on your right and it’s one of the shops right after that. Park in front or in garage.

Kayo from East-​West Hair is here now! Have been going to Kayo for hair cuts for years now and I swear by her because she not only is familiar & experienced with all types of Asian hair, but she takes her time in getting it how you’d like. I usually show her pictures of cuts I want, and every time, she replicates it on me without fail (from A-​line bobs to long layered cuts). She also takes your face shape into consideration and will make suggestions which is wonderful.
Circa 92 is a nice salon, very classy décor. Easy to find and the environment seemed to be very laid back. My cut was $ 40 (without tip).

Overall, I can see why the high stars for this place. Mato is super sweet and nice. She has a soft spoken voice with a Japanese accent.
About Japanese Air Wave: I would not recommend this service to anyone because my hair turned out the same after 3 hours of service. My type of hair: dry, coarse, dyed, and long.

Been crying everyday since my haircut. I rarely cut my hair cuz it’s a slow growing process after years of trying to grow it out I went in for help. My hair was past shoulder length and now is too short to even get extensions :(AVOID haircuts, very nice lady lelahni but horrible haircuts for $ 50 (posted a pic collage) I told her a few times its too short n she kept cutting (I trusted her) and in the End I said wow its short. Too short and she said «well your hair wasnt long in the front «IT WAS. I’m never getting a haircut in my life.
Again, sweet lady just no «20years experience» like she stated.

This salon has the Japanese Airwave!!!
I love my hair, it’s healthy, soft, and bouncy… just by washing and air drying. Ever since I got the Airwave with Mato, it’s been so easy to style my hair.
This salon still has awesome service and they can color and highlight like you wouldn’t believe with Leilani.
5 stars! Highly recommend.

I stumbled upon Circa 92 salon through a groupon, and it really did turn out to be quite a find. I have been to this salon twice and both times they have managed to fit me in at the last minute and everyone is so nice! Both times I had Richard Lee cut my hair and not only did the cut turn out fantastic, but he took the time to get all the split ends! YA! I definitely recommend this salon and Richard Lee to anyone!

So guys don’t really write reviews on salons often, if ever, which should tell you how great the experience was at Circa 92! The location is tucked away behind the DoubleTree Hotel, but this salon is DEFINITELY a find.
I went in after work, and was seated promptly. The layout is pretty nice, nothing out of the ordinary. Richard cut my hair and he works like he has been doing this for a very long time. He was very personable and the normal salon awkwardness where you search for things to say and avoid eye contact like vampires with sunlight was nonexistent. Richard gave me a great cut! He accommodated all of my weird preferences with my hair. Best of all, He is SUPER fast without compromising the quality of his work or the professional service he gave me.
Overall, I recommend this place. It is not in the most visible location, which makes it GREAT for walk-​ins. They generally always have an open seat. However, if you want an amazing cut that doesn’t take hours in a salon seat and remanufactured «the weather is nice» conversations, ask for Richard!

i must thank combined forces of Circa 92 and Groupon Now for leading me here. The tween needed a haircut, and being the procrastinator that i am, our regular stylist was booked and couldn’t take walk-​ins. so, i turned to groupon now to see what they might have to offer on such short notice… i was able to snag a $ 23 haircut & style not too far from home. i called and booked an appt for that same day.
the salon was a bit hard to find even with navi… we drove right past it… i’d never suspect any businesses to be in that location. anywhoos… the tween was paired with Richard and he did great job. very friendly and communicative about her hair and what her expectations were.
bottomline: the tween was very happy with her haircut… and she is very hard to please these days in her young tween age.

Went in on a Groupon a while ago, Noriko did a great job so I decided to go back again after another 5 months. Sadly Noriko doesn’t work here anymore but I got an absolutely fabulous cut from Lelani!
Loved my hair so much I went back this week for $ 37 partial highlights and my hair looks and feels AMAZING! Would recommend this salon to everyone. They do great work.

I was running around and happened to be in the area. I decided to just come in for a haircut since it would be the only time I have. A guy name Chris did my hair. I told him my hair was super dried out and way too long (all the way down to my bottom). I also told him I wanted some layers and something to make it more full. He told me he would give me plenty of fullness and would cut off 3 inches. It turned out better than I had imagine. I actually had never seen my hair this perfect. The rest of the day was all compliments.
The total was $ 45 and I tipped $ 15. It was more than worth it. I’m very glad I found this place and will be back again =)

I chose this salon because got a sweet deal on Groupon and it had pretty solid reviews. 4 stars is a pretty fair rating. Let me break it down for you:
The good:
*I went in on Saturday morning and I was immediately assisted.
*Leon (who I highly recommend) gave me the most comprehensive consultation I’ve ever had
(The price was right ($ 23.00 Groupon deal)
*Even after I went home and did my own hair it looked just as good as when he did it (the sign of a good cut I say)
*There was zero gossip being tossed around while I was there
*When I left I was given a warm and friendly goodbye
The not so good:
*The receptionist when I arrived was (I overheard) the owners daughter and she was less than enthusiastic… even a tad rude
*They sell the art displayed on their walls and I would normally think that was really cool. However, the art was… well…not stellar. I found it really detracted from my experience
*It’s a bit messy in there where they store their styling product for the stylists (all spread out on a table in no real order)
Overall, I liked it and plan to return. My cut was great and Leon kept the chit chat to a minimum (an area most hairdressers irritate me in) .However, for their regular prices I would prefer it to be a little prettier inside.

I went back to Circa 92 to visit Noriko again for a cut and color. Again, I can’t praise the staff there enough. They are so sweet and friendly! I am so so so glad this place is so close to me!
Noriko, again, did an amazing job on my hair! I had a picture with me this time, and she literally glanced at it once and knew exactly what I wanted! I LOVE my color and cut. Love love love Noriko. Needlessly to say, I will be going back again and again and again!

Actually, they were all around sweet. Noriko did an excellent job on my hair– exactly how I wanted and how I pictured it! She was a great listener and very attentive and I will definitely be going back to her!
If you want great service, pretty hair and a nice environment, circa92 is definitely the way to go!
