This place is a hole in the wall in a business complex, but of the best kind. The kind that you would go back to once you’ve tried it once. The kind that makes you wish your office were situated next door. With their sandwiches you can probably go once or twice a week without your tastebuds getting tired. The food is excellent, served hot, and served quickly if you plan on heading in for lunch. Living close by but working further away, I’d wish they were open on weekends. They are open til early evening though which is a plus.

Bread Basket is a solid choice if you’re looking for basic deli food — meaning sandwiches, salad. Today I picked up a chef’s salad here. Ingredients were very fresh and the salad was made to order. The blue cheese dressing accompanying the salad was quite good. Portion was generous, clearly a strong value for less than 8 bucks. The folks that work here are 5 star employees, consistently nice to all patrons. Service is efficient, this place gets the job done. Décor is basic as they are not trying to be fancy. Joint is clean, comfortable enough for a basic deli style lunch. Bread Basket is my quick go to place for lunch around the corner from work.

This place is a hole in the wall with mix décor and a random pool table it’s a bar/sandwich place. The steak sandwich is full of fat as is the pastrami. Never again will I go to this dump. They need a better meat supplier.

Love these guys. It isn’t a gourmet foodie place, but what they do they do well. Hot sandwiches take noticeably longer than cold, so some people will get food sooner than others. Relax, this is normal, they didn’t forget. Just glare at your co-workers if they are eating while you are still waiting. That’ll pass the time and before you know it you’ll have your food! Give this place a try, you won’t regret it. It tends to be very busy at lunch. If you have a flexible lunch schedule, come at 11:30 or wait until 12:30.

Earlier this week I ate lunch at the Bread Basket. ‘Twas delish. About an hour after we left, I realized my purse was nowhere to be found and I must have left it at the restaurant. I called and he said no one had turned anything in, but then noticed it was still hooked on one of the chairs. I raced over there and the employee handed it over. Everything was still there. It warms my heart when there are still honest people in the world that don’t try to take advantage of the situation. I commend the Bread Basket not only for having excellent sandwiches, but also for being good people!

The biggest small soup and half sandwich ever. Good food in a casual laid back environment. The restaurant is half bar half sandwich shop– unusual but it seems to work for them. A big selection of sandwiches to choose from for any appetite. Not sure I’d order the tortilla soup again — texture and taste was similar to something out of a can. Not bad but not what you’d expect in a restaurant. Service is great and friendly!

I’ve been here at least 30 times since it is close to work, but then I just decided it wasn’t worth it. I can get a lot better food for the same price elsewhere.

Drove by on accident while looking for another business. I’m a sucker for sandwiches, so I had to check it out. I walked in to the place and was immediately greeted by the nice employee up front. Holy crap — they have a ton of sandwiches! I choose the turkey, bacon, and cheese. Pretty standard. It was about $ 7. The sandwich came up quick and it was huge and served on a french roll. They have a ton of chips to choose from as well(free if you check in!) the whole meal was about $ 8.50 and totally worth it. The bacon was nice and crispy, the bread was soft, and it was piled high. I totally wanna come back and drink some beers and watch the game — they have NFL specials! Stop here for your lunch break and after lunch drinks.

I had the Steak and Cheese Sandwich with mushrooms and onion… It was delicious! The meat was very moist and the grilled onions and mushrooms gave it sooooo much flavor! The cashier was extremely helpful in choosing a sandwich and the overall atmosphere was nice for lunch.

I was looking for a new place to eat that was close enough to my work but inexpensive and casual. I came across this place in the Unilocal searches so I decided to give it a try. It’s in a business park, but they have a huge selection of sandwiches. I got the Italian and a side of fries. Ordering is easy and the staff is friendly. The place kind of reminds me of a dive bar, but it’s really a lunch spot. They have a bar area, but I’m not sure if they serve alcohol or not. You walk up and place your order and wait for your order to be called. There’s plenty of seating and TV’s all over the place. The sandwich came on a 8″ or 12″ roll. I got the 8″ and it was plenty for me. There was a lot of meat in the sandwich and the fries were good as well. Overall, it’s a good place to go to. It’s not exceptional, but a good solid lunch place during the weekday.

Their sandwiches are good. I expected the bread to be a lot better considering the name, but its a cool little spot and I’ll probably go again.

I just had the best grilled cheese that I have ever had, in my entire life– and I owe that immense pleasure to the one and only Bread Basket. Rich, gooey, melty pepper jack amidst a glorious sea of perfectly grilled mushrooms and onions, spilling out between two flawlessly browned slices of sourdough… ay, dios mio, this must be the work of divine forces, for no earthly sandwich can be this tantalizing. I thought nothing could beat the egg salad on rye that I’ve been getting practically every day since discovering this place, but alas, my heart has been stolen. I cannot imagine a life without this sandwich in it. I saved half of it for later, but we all know I will be done eating that by the time I finish writing this sentence… yep. BEST. SANDWICH. EVER. AND you get to listen to awesome music while you eat, and maybe even grab a beer & play some pool. Perfection.

Was a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high from reading precious Unilocal reviews. My dad go the pastrami and it was extremely salty, as was the BLT I got. Also, I thought the bread would be top notch, as their name is bread basket, however it was just so so. Service was great though!

So I came here and ended up trying the steak sandwich with cheese and onions. I also ordered a side of the onion rings. The sandwich wasn’t as good as I was expected it to be, but it was still pretty decent. Even though there was a good amount of meat, I felt it would have been better if they stuffed it with a bit more meat, especially on the sides which I felt were lacking. They have a wide variety of hot sauces on one side of the table, the ones that I recall are the Tapatio and the Sriracha. The ranch they had felt a bit watered down and not really to my liking. The ketchup packets they had I believe were Hunt’s, and I’m not sure what kind of ketchup they had in the bottles. I thought the peppers they had weren’t all that spicy and it tasted like it had been soaking in the seasoning liquid for too long. Overall, I probably won’t be back unless I get dragged here or am really craving sandwiches. It’s a few steps up above Subway for me, but still not good enough for me to love.

Is it a sandwich shop? Is it a pool hall? Is it a bar? The Bread Basket is a sandwich shop located in an industrial complex of Tustin. It does have a bar area where beer is served, with Happy Hour every night. They have one pool table in the restaurant. Although the menu has 101 different sandwiches, I have only tried steak sandwich. The steak sandwich is a sandwich made with thinly sliced ribeye steak(thin as bulgogi). As soon as you order the steak sandwich, the chef cook up the ribeye steak on the grill. The steak sandwich comes in 10 different varieties. I have only had the steak, the steak with mushrooms and onions and marinara sauce, and the Wow Whee, or steak cheese, mushroom, onion, green pepper, and marinara sauce. All of the steak sandwiches have been good, although it could use a pinch of salt. Although the menu says that they use marinara sauce for your sandwich, they don’t use that much. It is the perfect amount. Any more and the marinara sauce will overpower the sandwich. If you can’t make up your mind which sandwich to get, just get the Wow Whee. The steak sandwiches are very good. I still have 98 more sandwiches to try at the Bread Basket. But, why? The steak sandwich is one of the best around.
