Delicious! Tacogi chicken burrito with those awesome sauces is the way to go! Manager seemed very nice.

Tacogi is under new management, and has upped its game big time. The tacos now automatically come with mango salsa and an avocado-heavy guacamole. You also get the option of flour vs. corn tortillas(pick the corn). The burritos are gigantic, and the manager actually cooked our food and wanted our feedback on the spot. The food was fantastic and the treatment was royal.

Absolutely nasty since became under new management on July 15th2015. Chicken is burnt and they no longer had edamame. The sides have been replaced with«chips and guacamole»(not Asian) and we know it’s store bought. We tried to go in at 8:50pm when they closed at 9pm and refused service to us because they were«closing». The new sauce is nasty and there is barely any food in the burritos. Do not waste your time or money. It will surprise me if this place stays open longer than 6 months. Absolute mockery of the old Tacogi.

Really like the infusion of Asian and Mexican. I have tried most of there burritos and several tacos. The Tacogi Beef burrito with the red spicy sauce and fried rice is what I keep going back for. The beef is marinated in a Korean bbq marinade that is bold, spicy and a little sweet. It really is balanced as far has hot, sweet and tartness. The fried rice is just fried rice but I get it on the side(they will do that if you ask them) and ask for extra yum yum sauce. The fries are crispy and the sweet potato wedges are large spears of sweet potatoes. Decent place for lunch.

This place was horrible. If you are looking for true Korean than this is Not the place! I had the bulgogi plate and after a few bites I threw it out.

Tacogi has a great idea, but they need to up their game. I like all of the combinations in theory, but in practice… 1. The iceberg lettuce and cheese is extremely bland. I think they could lose the cheese and get some crunchier, more flavorful lettuce. Or heck, use a more flavorful cheese, too. 2. The deep frying… Deep fried tofu in a tortilla with cheese and with a creamy sauce is just too much. I pretty much have an iron stomach when it comes to greasy foods, but even this made me feel kind of icky. It tasted good, but it could be so much better. Get some firmer tofu and grill it, maybe use some julienne carrots or maybe even some kimchi instead of cheese? 3. The«teriyaki» chicken needs a better sauce. The chicken was cooked well, but the sauce just tastes really cheap, almost as if it was straight soy sauce. Ditto for the spicy chicken — it kind of tasted like Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. 4. The beef is awesome, but again, the bland packaging! Why? Diagnosis: Tacogi needs to figure out how to incorporate some fresher, more interesting flavors with their meats. I’d take a cue from some of the more traditional Korean BBQ restaurants in terms of the little side dishes. Why not some of this stuff: I have high hopes for you, Tacogi!

Saw this place listed on Unilocal as Korean. Uh, no way. Tacos and Burritos with what some may consider Asian like flavors is not even close to Korean. Anyway, the place was not very clean. The floors were sticky, which does not bode well in my book for cleanness. I ordered the spicy chicken burrito with the hot sauce. It was more sweet that spicy, and more rice a rice burrito than a chicken burrito. Their prices are what one would pay for an artisan burrito, but the the burrito is more like what you’d find a taco bell. So no on cleanliness, no on taste and quality. However, the staff were friendly and service was fast. They just need to push a mop around the place.

Tacogi, pronounced ta-co-gi not taco-gi as we learned on our visit, serves Korean tacos and burritos. The menu isn’t long nor complex. Select your taco and sauce or your burrito. They were out of beef and edamame when we went so my group tried the tacogi chicken, the spicy chicken, a chicken burrito, and both fries and sweet potato wedges. The fries are typical frozen from a bag fries, but we all agree that the hand cut sweet potato wedges are worth having again. We enjoyed our tacos and thought that they weren’t over/under stuffed. I thought one taco and sweet potato wedges was enough for a meal, but the guys in our group would recommend at least 2 tacos. All in all, I found Tacogi to be a good place to get an inexpensive meal. I’ll be returning and hopefully will have a chance to try the beef and edamame.

Nice Korean bbq. I tried the tacos. They cook them from scratch so it may a take a little bit to get your food. This is something unique in Tuscaloosa. I will give Tacogi a return visit.
