Let me start with this place is a health hazard! I’ve given this place one too many chances. I like most of their customers am a broke college student. They offer a lunch special which is two one topping slices with a drink for $ 5. Not bad right? WRONG. The crust is far too thin, and overloaded with grease. But that’s the least of this places problems. Every time I have been(4 – 5 times): The waitstaff was more concerned about gossiping than taking my order. The inside looked and smelled like garbage, and was visibly dirty. AND2 times I found hair in my pizza. But the worst part was, I saw the MANAGER, drop a pizza pan on the floor which is used to take pizza out of the oven, and then pick it up and use it to take out someone’s pizza. Only come here as a last resort!

Health rating is in the low 80’s, but we still ate there. The pizza was ok, but the place was dirty and the service was bad. The pesto pasta tasted off and was not appetizing. It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for.

The service means well and they were very nice even when I asked for extra extra marinara sauce. They were short staffed on the day of the championship. The place was really dirty and the bathrooms were unclean. All of the tables and chairs had remnants of trash and grease. I was just most disappointed that I had to wait nearly 40 minutes for some cheesy bread. They were out of garlic bread which was understandable but I didn’t feel like my order should’ve taken that long. I’ll be back but just not on game day.

I guess the health rating of 86 should have been a give away. Ordered special, 2 slices of deep dish and a drink. Bacon on one, pepperoni on the other. What I received was a thick slab of crusty bread with some random sandwich meat tossed on top of it and half melted cheese drizzled on the sparse meat. My wife ordered deep dish Hawaiian pizza. The pineapple was cold, making the rest of the pizza cold and unappetizing. Friends ordered thin pepperoni slices. 4 napkins were needed to sop up the grease before eating it. Drink station was dirty, with spilled drink all around. The dining table was tacky, tried to wipe it off and the napkin stuck to the table. Staff was unconcerned with the condition of the place. Four workers there, no orders up. They went and sat down at a table, in plain sight of the dirty conditions but no one moved to clean up. Restroom was neat but not really clean. I realize school is out, maybe they lose their help… But it was 5:30 in the afternoon. Not a late evening after a busy time with no time to catch up. Should have been cleaned and prepped but it was messy and unkempt. In the past I’ve ordered to-go from there. Not sure I would again. If only there was a 0 star…

The service was fine, and their Napolitan pizza isn’t bad. But DONOTORDERTHETHICKCRUSTPIZZA. I’ve had it twice(because I’m glutton for punishment). It is basically a thick block of bread that is a bit crisp at the edges with tasteless cheese and very little sauce. The second time I had it, the cheese was barely melted. Seriously, it was like eating a hunk of bread with cheese on it. Possibly the worst slice of take-out pizza I’ve ever had. So if you’re going there, stick to the thin crust.

If i could rate lower than one star i would. It took forever for people to get their food and they messed up our order 3 times

I’m giving this pizza place 5 stars not because I think it’s fantastic, but because it’s definitely the best pizza I’ve had in this town, by a mile. I’m from suburban Philadelphia, where amazing pizza abounds. Not so in the deep south. Little Italy does a pretty good job and offers a super cheap lunch special. DONOTEATATHUNGRYHOWIES(or any other pizza chain)! This is the place to go in T-Town for pizza.

The pizza is decent. We ordered 16 inch pizzas so they were fresh. I had an Italian salad. The romaine was missing and the creamy Italian dressing was mostly mayonnaise. My brother in law ordered baked spaghetti. This dish consists of poorly drained spaghetti noodles with what appeared to be cheddar jack cheese melted on top. Stick with the pizza and this place is alright. Venture off that path and the quality spirals very quickly.

I’ve had pizza in Italy. .there’s is the real deal! The sauce is excellent, the crust. . Excellent! But $ 18 for a LG pepperoni pizza is just way too much. Lower the price a bit .I’d tell more of my friends about it. As is? They’d say I’m crazy for spending that much for a 13 inch pizza.

I have a love-hate relationship with this place. One one hand, it has some of the best pizza around. On the other, the place is dirty, health rating is bad, and service can be poor at times. There’s usually at least one guy making pizza while wearing a sleeveless t-shirt. The last thing i want to see before i take a bite of pizza is a guy’s armpit hair while he’s tossing dough. This place could be freaking awesome if they cleaned the place, improved their health rating, and hired friendlier people instead of college kids who don’t care about customers.

Good pizza close to the UA campus. I have also eaten at the one in Athens, GA, next to the UGA campus. Cheap lunch specials, fast and friendly service. I had two slices with one topping and a drink for $ 5.49 after tax. Plus they are open late. Glad to see it doing well.

I had some of the best service I’ve ever had at a pizza place. I had a large/annoying order and payment method, and Traci and Juni made sure to do everything correctly and happily. Traci even helped me carry my pizzas back to campus! The slices are huge– I fed 20+ teenagers with five larges and some left over. Also super delicious. I prefer it to Mellow and Broadway for sure. Thanks Little Italy! RTR!!!

I want to like Little Italy, I really do. It is trying to be a hole in the wall pizza joint, but it is a big crappy dining room in a nice . The sicilian pie is too dry and the neopolitan is over cheesed and greasy. I want to like this place, but I can’t.

My favorite pizza in Tuscaloosa by far. Cheap pizza with fresh toppings and huge slices. They know me by name when I walk in since I used to be a regular when I lived in Tuscaloosa. Wireless internet and flat screen tv’s are a plus as well.

Little Italy is trying. There is never anyone in there when I stop by, and it is depressing. I don’t wish un-success on any small, decent eatery. We need more local eateries because chains just don’t have the same«feel» as someplace that you know is the only one around. The décor has improved since the last time I’ve been in: cool, artistic, modern paintings wrap the entire inside walls, and Bama memorabilia hangs like beacons history over the bland Old Italy paintings. The staff(two guys — one of which is the owner) was very friendly, and helpful. Nice guys. I waited no longer than 15 minutes(try an hour at Mellow). Plus, it’s very cheap at $ 1.80 a slice, and $ 0.40 for each additional topping. That’s extremely cheap pizza. Good on the tongue and easy on the wallet. I ordered three of their Napoleon slices. They offer two styles of pizza: Napoleon(thin-crust); and Sicilian(thick-crust). I prefer the thin because it, and its size(roughly 10 inches) remind me of the massive, thin-crust slices in NYC… ahhh…I ordered cheese(the real classic NY choice), pepperoni, and pesto. All three were good. I’ve ranked them 1 being least and 3 being best: 1. Pepperoni — it was a tad dry, and a few of the pepperonis had been scorched to a blackened crisp, losing all flavor. 2. Cheese — it was a decent cheese pizza, not the best in town, but not bad. Their marinara sauce is very tomato-y, and different from what I’ve experienced else where in this town. Good slice. 3. Pesto — I am a huge fan of this oily, basil concoction. I love the ones at Mellow, and thought I’ve give LT’s a try. It just about matched a pesto pizza from Mellow, and that is quite a feat. This slice was the most moist and flavorful. It’s a shame this place doesn’t get more business. I’m pulling for ‘em. Their pizza would be really good if they improved their dough — it doesn’t quite match that succulent, flavorful dough at Mellow. Otherwise, I’ll keep going back, and I advise you to stop by as well. Help ‘em out. They also have free WI-FI. That’s cool. So you can«check-in» here on the Unilocal app.

This is New York-style pizza. It’s supposed to be thin & foldable. Order a whole pie and savor the consistency and light char of the crust, the quality of the cheese, the deliciously orange pizza grease. Lots of seating, multiple televisions, good prices, filling portions. Little Italy isn’t perfect. If you order by-the-slice(which I do roughly twice a week) you’ll find your slices over cooked more often than not. The quality when ordering by-the-slice is noticeably diminished compared to the whole pie. It isn’t the best NY-style pizza I’ve had outside of New York, but in a town as starved for real pizza as Tuscaloosa, Little Italy is a Godsend.

Do you like pizza that is the culinary equivalent of a microwaved Lunchable? Then Little Italy is for you! Seriously, I thought there would be something to this place since they usually have a line, but this is a case where the price reflects the quality of the food. i.e. cheap. If, out of desperation and lack of funding, you can’t go down the street to Little Caesar’s for a full $ 5 pie, then I guess this is a viable option. All I know is that I won’t be back.

2 stars because the pizza itself was pretty good. Not great mind you, just pretty good. Add in that the plastic forks melted while we were trying to use them, the totally BLAND décor, not having all the toppings in stock(another Unilocaler listed this also), handing me paper plates with gunk on them… then giving me an attitude when I asked for more… hmmmmm…I can’t see us going back
