Oak Barrel Ice & Creamery

This place has quickly become a family favourite of ours. As a parent we appreciate the price and the high level of service. Then there is the quality of the product that they make, which I wish I could give them a higher rating on that alone. We all appreciate the variety of flavours and the unique combinations that they come up with.
It is definitely a great spot for dessert, where you will be helping a local business and save a few dollars over the high price and wait time at other stores like the Yogurt Mill.

I just left from having lunch at an ice cream shop to come to Oak Barrel. Their ice cream is THAT great! It doesn’t get better than handmade! I actually let the owner know too that I’m glad he raised his prices because his skills are top notch! I love, love, love this place!

Awesome place! The owner greeted us and was open to giving us as many samples as we wanted (all delicious). I got the orange cream and it was sooooo good. Great service. Great ice cream.

One of the best ice cream shops I’ve ever been too. Homemade flavors with a perfect blend of creaminess and firm texture. My favorite flavor is there Carmel crunch, incredibly good, as well as their root beer freeze, a well blended root beer float. Go get some ice cream

This is the best ice cream I have ever had. The staff is friendly and the prices are great. Try the Candy Cane and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors!

Small place but BIG taste! They make their own icecream and its soooooo good. I’d come here regardless of weather. I wanting to try alll the flavores!!! I got horchata and pumpkin spice at one time and it was just bliss. I’m huge icecream fan. Waiting for a excuse to drive by the area and get some icecream!

Espresso Bean & Caramel Crunch the BEST Flavors! Actually I’m pretty sure all the flavors are delicious but those two are my favorite. I love how the ice cream is all made in store and used with primarily natural ingredients which is such a huge plus.
I sampled the mango and you can taste the mango, it was rather subtle but that’s how you know it’s not artificial like other mango flavors.
The espresso bean I believe had actual beans inside which was so good. The caramel crunch has toffee bits inside it was so good. They also have hot chocolate and you can add any choice of ice cream in it for $ 3.
The prices are all fairly priced.$ 2 for one scoop and I believe $ 3.50 or so for 2 scoops then $ 5 for 3 scoops. They also sell ice cream in quart sizes as well.
The serves are super sweet! We sampled tons of flavors before deciding on what we want and they were super chill about it. They also talked a lot about how the ice cream is made making it very personable.
There is also an oakbarrel there to show you how the ice cream was made before.
I will definitely be coming back soon to try all the other flavors!

This place is sooooooooo good. The price is completely fair, the ice cream is the best you’ll have in Turlock and the people are friendly! My son accidentally dropped his ice cream on the floor and within 15 seconds he had a new one and they’d cleaned the floor. I insisted I should pay, and they insisted that I didn’t! So, I left a tip twice what would another scoop would have cost. The tip jar is to your right by their register ;) couldn’t find it at first. Seriously Turlock! We better keep this place in business!!!

Stumbled upon this cute little ice cream place to find friendly staff plus delicious, savory, and unique flavors like Horchata. I went with my all time favorite Cookies & Cream and it did NOT disappoint: in fact, it’s probably the best I’ve had. Definitely stop by this place and support a local business!

Legit! Seriously, this is a dream Friday night out. You have the best pizza ever at Kraving Kababs and right next door is Dessert! They make the ice cream right in the back of the shop. And you can definitely tell. I’m never going to buy ice cream from the store again. I just can’t. You can sample everything before you make your decision and don’t forget to ask the clerks for advice. They know all the ice cream secret combos.

Small batch ice-​cream. Way better than anything else Turlock has to offer in terms of icecream. Massive portions, new flavors and most importantly (in my book) the dark chocolate is ON POINT. Thank you for being in Turlock!

I have nothing but absolutely GREAT things to say about this place.
First off, customer service was impeccable both times i visited. The first time I visited, the young ladies in the front were extremely helpful and patient and beamed with bubbly, cheerful attitudes. I paid another visit yesterday to enlighten my two good friends about this place and they absolutely loved it as well. Yesterday, the kind man helping me, allowed me to get two different flavors in one scoop, best of both worlds! The ice cream is made right inside the store. cant get any better than that! I will definitely spreading the word about this fantastic ice cream joint.

My brother took my wife and I to this place in town. They’re ice cream is the best I’ve ever had. Everyone is super nice. I live in Fresno but try to hit the place up when ever I can. Waffle cones for same price as regular cone. I like they’re rocky road.

Great ice cream! They have a large variety of flavors and a new flavor of the week each week. The service is great and very friendly! I visit quite often!

Best ice cream in town. Period. Everything is freshly made in the store, which means it tastes like authentic, homemade ice cream. Oh, it’s also the most affordable ice cream around…$ 2 bucks will get you a substantially sized double scoop of creamy goodness. Just go here, and tell your friends. Trust me. Just do it.

So I have came here a couple of times since they’ve opened and I think I am ready to form an opinion! Oak barrel simply has the best ice cream in town and at such a great price, it makes you want to come back! The staff is nice and don’t look miserable (which seems to be hard to find). The place is small but is clean cut. The only complaint is I wish it had more seating! Especially on a busy night there’s not many places to sit down at. Other than that, the owner is really on to something here and I hope it sticks around.

Butter fat under 15% should not taste this good. Not sure how they do it, but this ice cream tastes as rich as what you may have sampled at BUD’s in San Francisco. This is as fresh as ice cream gets since it is custom-​made on-​site. A friend suggested licorice and, voila, it is so popular, it was unavailable today. Great family-​friendly atmosphere. You have got to try this ice cream.
If you have not heard of BUD’s Ice Cream, Oak Barrel seems to be off to a great start at becoming a Central Valley icon, as BUD’s was/​is to the Bay Area.

Greg and his team catered my daughters high school graduation. Not only was it a huge hit, but everyone continues to ask where we got the ice cream. We had five flavors… Root Beer, Caramel Crunch, Dark Chocolate Strawberry Berry, Vanilla Bean, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, and Strawberry Berry. I would highly recommend Oak Barrel for any event.

Small menu but everything I’ve tried is wonderful. The root beer and orange creams were delicious.
Few seats and very little in the way of atmosphere (the run-​down shopping center doesn’t help much), but I’m perfectly willing to overlook this for such tasty ice cream!
