We’ve been coming to Mt. Fugi for years. All three of my kids have had a birthday dinner here at least twice and if we let them pick the restaurant it will always be here. If they aren’t too busy and you can request a waiter, ask for Don. His Seinfeld reenactments are hilarious!

We were visiting family in Tupelo. We told them we would treat and asked them for a restaurant that they would prefer. They picked Mt. Fuji. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Since they wanted Hibachi, we were seated by the Hibachi Grill. The heat from the grill was overwhelming. I have been to Hibachi Grills before but never one that made me uncomfortable during the whole dinner. The staff was nice and attentive. I have had better Hibachi Chefs… as far as being entertaining. The food was not bad but I have seen better. Overall, it was not a super terrible experience. It is not a restaurant that I would revisit.

I’ve eaten here previously on a Saturday at dinner time & everything was wonderful! Decided to dine during lunch yesterday & it was horrible I ordered a shrimp hibachi meal, tempura shrimp, and a sushi roll it took forever for them to bring any of the food out & when they did my meal was wrong & the waitress tried to get me to keep it instead of kindly taking it back & getting what I ordered since it was her mistake. My friend complained about his alcoholic beverage and the manager started talking over us in another language I wanted to leave and not pay not sure if I’ll ever visit here again

Amazing sashimi and sushi rolls! The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Prices are reasonable for the excellent quality. I will definitely be coming back to try the specialty rolls and to eat more sashimi!!!

This place is decent competition for some of the sushi bars I’ve been to in much larger cities. I was happy to find it in Tupelo! I had the sushi dinner with tuna roll and it was very tasteful. My girlfriend had the sushi and sashimi appetizer. The beer list is not very extensive, but they do have a few Japanese imports of course. The atmosphere is great and the music is actually tailored to the environment which is nice for a change. The birthday songs that came on extra loud when they had to bring out a cake were a little annoying, but I can get past it. Service wasn’t bad. There was a pretty lively bar scene on a Thursday evening too, which is good. Next time I’m looking forward to trying the hibachi. Definitely check this place out.

We went to Mt Fuji for sunday lunch based on the reviews. The place was pretty full so we expected the food to match the reviews. We ordered some rolls, Udon, and Tonkatsu. The Udon was little too salty than normal and the noddles were a little over cooked. The Tonkatsu wasn’t visually pleasing, all it consisted of was Tonkatsu that was cut into strips and placed on the plate, plating with the rice and something else would make it look better. The service on the other hand left a lot to be desired. Our server did not seem all that friendly and was in a rush to get us to leave. I can understand its busy and you need to turnover the tables quickly, but all I ask is you ask if I’m done with a plate before taking it away.

Great sushi, great appetizers with a nice variety(whole baby octopus!) The guys on the hibachi are very entertaining and like to get kids involved. Great place to take the family.

Oh my! Sooooooooooooooooooooo good. I am in Tupelo on work and was not expecting such delicious sushi… Scallop sushi was buttery soft, sweet shrimp was sweet and delicious. Yellowtail sashimi cut was generous and fresh. Also had the spider roll. 2 thumbs up! Very hip, fun vibe as well. Service was little slow at first, but the server became very friendly and on the ball.

I’ve been to several hibachi grills and this one was alright in comparison. The thing that ruins restaurants for me is poor service. The waitress was impolite and was clearly not trying hard for our table because she could put gratuity on our bill. It was a bummer because I wanted to love this place. The food was incredible.

I’m giving this 4 stars because the service and décor were very good. I sat at the sushi bar and had the dancing dragon roll and the yellowtail sashimi. I didn’t care for the dragon roll. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t to my taste. The yellow tail was average. The price was average as well. They do have traditional Japanese hibachi food as well. I stopped in on Sunday at lunch and it was packed.

I ended yup staying at the hotel across the street for a few months due to work. Mt. Fuji was one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Fresh seafood and a great atmosphere. If I’m ever back in the area, I WILL be dropping by.

my boyfriend works in tupelo from time to time and swears by this place. i finally had a chance to dine there sunday and have to say i agree. the staff is really sweet and accommodating and the sushi is amazing. there’s not really much else to say except order the hot girl roll and the king tuna(i think that’s the name, i don’t think it’s on the menu). this sushi is seriously amazing. mt. fuji blows away every sushi restaurant in memphis right now.

I visited this restaurant back in September of 2012. Here is my review: My girlfriend who has been to others said this is the best one she has been to(including a famous one in Memphis). She ordered the filet mignon off the Hibachi dinner menu and she said it was the best cooked she has had in a long time. The chef did a wonderful presentation at the Hibachi table. Being new to Japanese food, I am not going to critique the dinner. It was filling and you get a full plate. Prices are slightly steep compared to what you might get for the same portions at American restaurants, but you get a good show too. Our sever was Josh, and he was great! It was very busy that Friday night, but he made sure you were made first priority. Very excellent server! He made special effort for my girlfriend’s 11 year-old son to help participate in her mom’s birthday cake presentation to the table — allowing him to bang the big cymbal each time when she tried to blow out the candle. Very nice experience!

We ate dinner here with my son, his wife and our granddaughter on 1.1.13. I had hibachi scallops. As you would expect, the chef was entertaining. The food was not bad. The scallops were good. It was better than I expected. I would go here again if I were in Tupelo and in the mood for Japanese food.

ok all the food was GREAT. I give 4 stars because the place was pretty empty and our waiter took FOREVER. I hate guy waiters anyways. but I suggest this place over Mist because its the same quality a Mist is more expensive.

Best sushi in North Mississippi hands down! I have had friends come in from Nashville and Memphis and all of them said it was better than any sushi bar their home towns had. All of their rolls are big, creative, and unique. They will even make rolls that are not on the menu. My favorite roll is the King Tuna. Its not on the menu but they ran a special on it one night and I have been hooked ever since. They also have a fantastic bar that makes a very good bloody mary.

Note that all we had was sushi so i can’t speak for anything else. The sushi is REALLY good. Of special note were the rainbow roll and the Dancing Dragon. On the pricy side but you leave full so I consider it a great value.
