The Fireplace is a dive. I always leave here feeling kind of dirty and gross, but it’s the only restaurant close to work, so I come here when I have to. The only things I will eat on the menu are their french onion soup and grilled chicken salad. I would not recommend their Mexican food or really anything outside of the box here… Get the usual stuff and you should be ok. Service is slow, so I would not recommend for lunch if you need to get in and out quickly. You can call ahead and place your order if you’re in a rush.

This was the fourth or fifth time my wife and I have gone to the Fireplace for dinner in the last 18 months or so. The place is pretty predictable. The food was very good. I had a ny strip, my wife the beef tenderloin medallions. Both cooked as ordered and in a timely fashion. Dessert was a raspberry cobbler for two. Service was a little slow. From salad to finish dessert took about 2 hours. I enjoyed the slower pace. Some may find it too slow. Price is reasonable. Will definitely go back again.

Impressively bad service. Really holding up the reputation central pa has for the-worst-service-in-the-nation. Food was technically edible, not much more to say.

This is a local go to for us. There is a wide selection of food and some of the items are great like the filet medallions and the homemade pumpkin bread. Some items are hit or miss. The salad dressings are usually tasty and now that they have gotten rid of the ridiculous seashell dishes, you can eat your salad without accidentally dumping it The décor is extremely dated. There are days I would give it 4 stars and days I would give it 2, so overall 3 stars.

Most items are very good but it’s hit or miss here. I have been coming here since I was little and it just isn’t great anymore, service seems to be slacking and food tastes different. Recommend French onion soup, ranch dressing is amazing, and the prime rib! To go orders are rarely good… Usually cold and they put fries in the same box as the prime rib so they are soggier then hell. if you eat here, eat in!!!

The Fireplace has been part of my Family’s dinner tradition for almost as long as it has been open. This is comfort food! The surroundings, sounds and smells all remind me of the pleasure of being surrounded by family and cheer of a cold winter’s night — in front of a fireplace… As a child I would tear into a mountain burger with great abandon! The ‘mountain sauce’ and fresh toppings on top of a couple of thin, flame kissed beef patties adds to the character — The flavor is hot, juicy and outstanding! Ask for well done if you want to skip the very proper juicy pink patties. Other offerings on the menu and off the Special’s list make this an attractive stop along route 6. If you are hungry and within 40 minutes drive I would hang onto your hunger to land here. Think fire grilled, Irish inspired comfort foods, plenty of quality meat dishes — Beef, Chicken, and occasional Fish.

Food was allright. I had a NY strip, but I received a sirloin steak. Same price on the menu so I didn’t really care. At least it was cooked the right way. But seriously folks, why does it take over an hour to receive a steak when your restaurant isn’t even half full? There really isn’t an excuse for this. Gotta speed up the service here, guys!

I stumble into the restaurant coming out of a detour & remembered from a previous visit that I had a great meal. Well, this time I had the Petite Prime Rib 9 oz. cook to desired doneness. It was tender & flavourful. Comes with a big salad & choice of potato(mashed). Delishhhhhhh!

We waited over an hour for our meals and when we got them, the chicken was boiled instead of being Done on a char rock This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve had in a very long time. The woman at the counter just made excuses for everything. I won’t be back ever.

I live in the area and have eaten in this restaurant 3x in the last 20 yrs. My husband and I ordered 2NY strip steaks. Mine was ordered med well, and his was ordered«well, so well done I don’t care if you burn it.» Mine was served med well until you got to the last 3 in on the edge which were raw. My husbands was so rare he didn’t even eat it. We also ordered potato skins for an appetizer. The skins never arrived! But we were told«we took them off the bill.» My husband informed the server(not the waitress who seemed to disappear after seeing how raw the steaks were but did allow the brand new server to handle it) that this was the most expensive baked potato he ever ate. We told the server it was OK, it happens, but not coming back. So 20 yrs later I can honestly tell you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. The Fireplace is unable & unwilling to improve, nor do they care,

Order the«Laura’s Salad»(which has lettuce, strawberries, cranberries, pineapple, walnuts, blue cheese, pineapple, and an amazing dressing). I don’t know how many times I’ve ordered this. Also, their pumpkin bread is legit!

Tried this restaurant again today and once again I was disappointed. Filet mignon had no flavor. Meat is not fresh. $ 25 plus $ 5 for tips. Not worth it. This will be my last time here. I would rate it two stars: 1 for the ambience and 1 for service. Food? Zero star
