We were very impressed with this hotel. Brand new, stylishly designed. The staff was warm and friendly. The lobby was lovely and modern and clean. Our room was also modern and comfortable and clean. I always appreciate a comforter instead of a bedspread. So much better. The rooms are really quite nice — felt like we were at a higher end hotel for sure. We slept in and missed breakfast so can’t speak to that. We liked it so much that we joined their frequent fliers club and will seek out La Quinta for future travel.

We stayed for two nights on a recent weekend while attending a family event in the Olympia area. We selected this hotel based on previous experiences with the LQ brand and convenient location to the event we were attending. This hotel is brand new, and while the public spaces are beautiful, there are clearly some kinks still being worked out in the finer details. Check-in was efficient, and the front desk staff were friendly and responsive each time I had a need. Maid staff were likewise quite friendly and willing to help. The lobby, as with all public spaces, was spacious and nicely decorated. I particularly enjoyed the bold paint scheme given the sometimes grim outdoor conditions in the Pacific Northwest this time of year. Pool and hot tub facilities are fresh and clean, although a bit small given the size of the hotel. The hot tub can really only accommodate four adults unless you are VERY friendly with your fellow bathers. One kink to note: The pool shower is broken and useless, so if you are looking to take a pre-dip shower or rinse chlorine out of your hair without using your room’s private shower(and towels), you are currently out of luck. As earlier reviewers have noted, the included breakfast service leaves much to be desired. American hotel breakfasts are generally underwhelming, but this version takes even that lowly standard to the extreme. Our guest room(a King room on the top floor) was reasonably spacious and impeccably clean. I religiously check pillowcases and towels in hotel rooms for«evidence» left by earlier guests, but these were blissfully fresh and clean. Unfortunately, the five pillows provided on our bed were so thick and firm as to be unusable. We called the front desk to ask for softer pillows, and the lovely girl working the counter did everything she could, but eventually called us back to let us know that all of the«normal» pillows were in use with other guests. Desperately seeking another option, she offered us the accent pillows from the lobby. Note to management: If you operate a hotel, you have to provide pillows that people can use for, oh, I don’t know, sleeping. Despite the low rating I’m leaving today, we would consider staying again in several months in the hopes that management will heed early reviews and figure out some of the critical details. The hotel is spanking new and hyper-convenient for our purposes, so definitely worth a gamble, just be sure you make alternate plans for food and ask early for«real» pillows.

We stayed here for a night and it was more than enough. We had booked online for a room with a kitchen, but when we checked in, the manager(who was also being overwhelmed by issues brought to him by a contractor as he was checking us in) told us it was not available. He was nice and apologetic, but the hotel was brand new, and the 2nd floor rooms(where the kitchen suites are) were not ready for occupancy yet. He placed us in a ground floor room with 2 queen beds instead. The room has only one window, it was in the corner of the building, it was cave-like and dark, and super tiny and cramped. The lobby and breakfast area was huge and beautifully done, but the owners skimped on the room space in return for a grand entrance.

We stayed at this hotel as we were visiting the area. We booked it for two reasons, One is it new and the second and more important is that they had an Indoor and Spa. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the Pool and Spa are closed because the«inspector» had not shown up for approval etc. and that it would be fixed soon. We stayed for 3 nights and four days and the pool and spa were never available! When I contacted the Hotel Owner, Jonathan Shea, he told me that he was sorry but it is not his fault that the Inspector is uncooperative. I told him that he needs to give us a free night stay as a result of the inconvenience and false advertising. He would not do that, instead he offered a 10% discount on «future» stays. Really? He had no problem collecting and charging for all amenities but it was our problem apparently and we had to live with it! Very, Very poor customer service. And that is a sign that if anything were to come up during your stay, the hotel will not honor their advertisement and will not be responsive to your needs! do not stay there! What happened to Hospitality??? And Honest and true advertising???

Cleanliness of hotel– 4 stars Friendliness of maids in hallways– 4 stars Cleanliness of room– 3 stars Morning front desk staff– 2 stars Pubic hair found in towel– negative 100 stars Breakfast choice– 0 star. For the price we paid, fresh fruits would have been nice. Sad display of oatmeal and cereal. PM Front desk staff– 0 star for unfriendly and unwelcoming service. We checked in at 11:30 pm. There were two men checking in before us. Front desk staff was very nice and friendly and it made me glad we booked with this hotel. But when it was my turn, it was as if a personality switch was turned off. The front desk woman turned off the smile and the kindness. She wasn’t nice or very welcoming. I was more pleasant in greeting her. I must have reminded her of someone she dislikes.
