We eat out a lot and we always go out of our way to praise service and bring benefit to anyone we encounter. In 30 years I’ve never left a bad review so this is a first. The environment was very nice, clean and welcoming but the food was so terrible out of 7 people we only consumed 10% of what we got and that 10% was difficult to eat it taste so bad. They offered us a 10% discount which was really nothing considering they should have credited us half if not the entire meal. I requested they take off at least 1 of the three adult buffets and they refused to do so and suggested we just not come back. Wow, I’m speachless. We definitely will not return, I bet they close down in less than a year with that mentality.

This is the second time we have gone and it honestly was not as good as the first time. The first time we went was on a Monday around opening time. Everything was fresh and delicious. Today(Sunday) we went around 1pm and the quality was not as good. There were quiet a few patrons so the food should have been fresh. Some of the sushi had a bad fish taste, and some of the hot food was cold, warm at best. Not worth the price for Sundays or dinners.

The variety and choice is amazing! The price is as equally amazing! The servers are polite. Well worth it to check it out.

This place was interesting as it is an all you can eat Japanese buffet which was cool but it’s limited. Amazing thing was you can get steak cooked here with your choice of whatever. Buffet was reasonable and this place was like a hidden bronze gem, if that makes sense, lol. It wasn’t too bad for the price and I enjoyed it. Not too bad of a place for all you can eat Japanese food. May return.

This is a one of a kind buffet in Tulsa! At least 20 different kinds of sushi and they are all delicious. They also have other wonderful varieties of foods, chocolate fountain and tons of desserts. The staff is very warm and friendly, overall a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Agree with the other reviews here that there is something here for everyone: the chinese food, the self-served hibachi, and the ample cold and warm seafood options. For Christmas, they also served snow crab legs, which were large, tasty, and frequently refilled. The sushi was ok, but all the other food was above average quality. If you like buffets, I would recommend this one. There is enough variety without being overwhelming. Not to mention it’s $ 12 for all you can eat dinner and $ 5 for kids.

There are really only two decent asian buffets in Tulsa, the other is the Bangkok Restaurant but it is more of a Thai buffet and therefore much spicier than this one. Yutaka is your best bet if people in your party are less adventurous and want less spicy food. The sushi bar has a wide variety but don’t expect any eel or urchin, it is after all a buffet and reasonably priced so the selection was a less expensive variety. Was the sushi great? No but it was decent and much cheaper than other options… You get what you pay for and if I’m not paying $ 2/pop I don’t expect it to be great. Remember the buffet during the week is only 7.99 at lunch(8.99 on Friday) so you don’t expect high end food choices… That said you do have some options that are normally not found on cheaper buffets, salmon, scallops, large shrimp, crawfish… quite a few interesting things that are very unexpected on a buffet at this price point. I think really the 4 stars aren’t for how great the place is, because I would really only give the food 3 stars if it was simply a question of food… but value has to be factored in and because it is 2 dollars less than say Bangkok House it certainly deserves an extra star for that alone. Downside… The hibachi grill cooks tend to undercook the food you give them a bet. The veggies should really be cooked a bit more before the meat is added in so that the veggies end up a bit more cooked by the end. Other complaint would be the bread, the rolls are a bit hard on the bottoms from over cooking… The salmon has been while cooked fully, should be kept at a higher temp on the serving station… Only other thing to complain about would be the fact that the two buffet lines are a bit cramped for space due to how they are located. In the end it is a good deal for the money. There is another review by someone named Serena T which honestly doesn’t make sense. I have no idea how anyone could spend 28 buck here unless they were buying a lot of alcohol to go along with their meal because the prices just aren’t that high. So if you want asian buffet without lots of hot spicey food stop here… if you want spicier stuff then go to Bangkok Restaurant.

I’m not usually big on buffets, but this place was highly recommended by a co-worker, so we decided to try it out. Of course the selection is nowhere as extensive as Japan House or Tokyo One in Plano, but for $ 7.99/person on a week day, we were pretty satisfied with the place! We were immediately greeted when we walked in, and the booth we got was very clean. The décor was modern, including the bathroom. Though the floor at the buffet line was slightly sticky. The waitress was nice and attentive, our plates are always picked up right after we got up for another round. The Mongolian grill bar was nice, the veggies all looked fresh, including the cuts of meat selection. We got a plate of stir fried jalapenos, onion, cabbage, mushroom, broccoli, and beef with garlic and ginger sauce. It’s not overly salty like your usual takeout stir fry. I’d say the sushi quality was below average, granted, I’m a slight sushi snob. The seaweed salad was mixed with regular American lettuce and seafood, not impressed with the combination, should’ve just serve straight up seaweed salad. The kimchi available was less than satisfactory, too. I liked the curry Singapore noodles, I even went back for more after the first plate. I was very impressed with the traditional Chinese dishes like soup dumplings, custard bao, egg custard, and especially the homemade unsweetened warm soy milk! The ice cream chest was awesome! Big selection from ice cream cone with peanuts, ice cream bar, ice cream sandwiches, and little cups of sherbert! So much better than your average buffet ice cream sundae bar! I’d suggest a noodle bar like Japan House, and maybe add more tofu dishes for more authentic feel. I personally love inarizushi, I’d come back for plates after plates if they offer it. I understand that they’ve only been opened for 4 months ish, so we’ll definitely come back, and give it another try! Also, loved the music selection of cool, contempory cover songs in the restaurant! And also big props for cool soy sauce bottle!

Pros: They get a star because everyone can find at least one thing they like here. This is where my family and I go when we can’t agree on anything for dinner. There is a little bit of something for everyone. One of my brother in laws gets the hibachi steak, seafood, rice, and vegetables. Another brother in law goes for the sushi and the boiled crawfish. They get a star because they have a hibachi grill and that is one of my husband’s favorite things in the world. My husband likes the hibachi and the dumplings. They get a star because now that we have found this place, my husband never makes me go eat at HuHot. I truly dislike HuHot. They get a star for offering some traditional Chinese dishes(ones that I could go eat other places, but never get around to it). There’s a variety of desserts and free ice cream. Service ranges from good to negligent to rude. Cons: I actually don’t like this place! Sometimes I get the hibachi, but I always make it too garlicky(which is my own fault). Sometimes I eat the dumplings, but I’m rarely in the mood for dumplings. I don’t like their sushi. Things that I have found tolerable here: warm soy bean milk, custard bao, tempura vegetables, crispy honeyed shrimp, sesame seed balls. What I really don’t like is that I end up eating a ton of calories, but am never really satisfied.

I don’t usually go to buffets because I’ve never had a very good experience with them, but I decided to try Yutaka anyway. The possibility of all you can eat sushi was something I couldn’t ignore. When I first walked through the door I was impressed with the décor. The restaurant has a very clean, modern look. The hostess at the front greeted us and took us to our table. Then a waitress came to our table to get our drink order. That’s about all we saw of the waitress. No drink refills. She did clear the table of plates but that was done while we were at the buffet. The food was not very good. My first trip to the buffet I picked one piece of several kinds of sushi. I didn’t try any raw because it honestly didn’t look very good. I also got some of the yakisoba and headed back to our table. The sushi was mostly just alright. The taste wasn’t bad but the construction was poor. The pieces were of varying sizes, the rolls were nearly falling apart at times, and some rolls were made with not enough or too much rice. I would say this sushi is better than what you can get at a deli or supermarket, but not as good as Sushi Train or any other sushi restaurant. The yakisoba was barely warm and had little flavour. The other warm items I tried on the buffet were a combination of bland and cold. The gyoza was cold and not at all crispy. The miso soup tasted off and the seaweed inside was more of a yellow green than it is supposed to be. There’s a hibachi station towards the end of the buffet that looked promising but by this point my appetite was ruined so I didn’t partake. Fruit, brownies, and other desserts are offered. I tried some of the fondue but it was barely warm and not that great. They have an ice cream cooler with ice cream bars, popsicles, and ice cream cups. We left hungry but with absolutely no appetite. Save yourself the 28 dollar mistake and avoid this place.

I was excited to go here after hearing mostly good things. And so– on a Sunday afternoon– I found myself dining in. This is the first time I’ve had no idea what to rate a place. There were moments in the experience fitting of every level of star. So– a rundown of what earned each star— 1-Star… The dishes my mom would eat. So, for example… Chicken Teriyaki. It was cold. Bland. And with tons of fat on(is this how it is normally prepared?) 2-Star… The extras such as the shumai or the egg rolls. Again– cold. Bland. Also, sadly, the service would also fit into this category. Nobody was rude, but don’t order a drink as you won’t see a refill and you may run out of soy sauce. 3-star… The sushi: well, it would have been 2-star until I considered that the sushi all had fresh fish. However, I felt much of the sushi was bland and… Yes again– a little stale or cold. It was better than some sushi I’ve had. It wasn’t the best by far, though. 4-star… I loved the gyoza. The rice was great. And the hibachi was a surprising addition. 5-star… The coconut shrimp made the meal. The décor and ambiance was spot on. Beautiful. I’ll be back and I hope to sort my mixed feelings out.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m just not crazy about buffets. This place was not bad on the whole(although a few items were quite awful) but it was far from great. To make it short, I got really full in some mediocre Asian food, but probably won’t return. Life is too short, my friend, to waste on this place! The sushi choices were okay, but some of the items that were obviously there to appeal to the American audience(basically all of the cheese items) were DISGUSTING! 3 stars bc they had ice cream sandwiches.

It wasn’t the best of buffets, it wasn’t the worst of buffets, it was a buffet for the wise, it was a buffet for the foolish, it was an epoch of belief, it was an epoch of incredulity, it is available in the season of Summer, presumably it will be available in the season of Winter, it provided a spring of hope, it provided a winter of despair, I had everything before me, I had nothing before me, I was going directly to Heaven, I was going directly the other way. Gone is Furr’s Buffet and in from its ashes arose Yutaka, claiming to be Tulsa’s first Japanese buffet(although other restaurants might beg to differ). It had been years since I went to Furr’s, but glad to see that the place has been cleaned up nicely. The draw here of course is the sushi. Was glad to see that it was being made fresh, almost non-stop. I was actually surprised that some pieces even had real fish, when all I was expected was a variety of seafood salad rolls. Quality was decent. Definitely better than supermarket sushi, better than other buffet sushi I’ve had in the area, but not as good as an actual restaurant. The buffet area itself is small and crowded, with some items not even being labeled or identified. The fact that there seems to be no reasoning in how it’s arranged, combined with people not generally know how to move through the line, added to the sense of being trapped and cramped. On the right are appetizers like spring rolls, tempura and some prepared dishes like Mac and Cheese, jalapeño poppers and a beef tenderloin. Next is salad and then a whole big offering of deserts. Appetizers were good, desserts were just okay. I didn’t want to risk the raw oysters and clams that they were offering. Some lady gave me the angry eye, when I decided to cut in front of her to gain access of an item well down the line, when I didn’t want to wait behind her while she internally debated on what to put on her plate. Next, working in a counterclockwise direction, is the hibachi area, which I have to say has the best and freshest offering of any hibachi/mongolian grill style restaurant in town. This makes the trip in itself worth it. Following that is the sushi, then prepared Asian dishes, followed by soups. Miso soup was very good. I didn’t try any of the prepared dishes as to do so after my intensive appetizer and sushi run, compiled with my hefty serving from the hibachi, would have just been an exercise in gluttony. Is this a place that I would go to regularly? Not really. I’d like to see what they have to offer for lunch. Dinner buffet is $ 11.99 M-Th and $ 12.99 Fri-Sun, with only dinner options being offered on Sun. Still if someone in a group was trying to get everyone to go to Hu-hot or a similar establishment, I’d recommend this restaurant over any of them.

Do it. You know you want to. What could a smattering of Asian Americans, scary people, yuppies, and the police all have in common? A passion for Yutaka. It’s amazing. We had a host with crazy blonde hair, a earring, and no sense of personal space. He was extremely polite and attentive. This is literally the cleanest buffet in Tulsa. It has a GREAT selection of yummy sushi, classic Chinese buffet classics, an assortment of American food and a very fresh looking hibachi grill. And ice cream. And a fondue fountain. Get off Unilocal and go.

Pros: 1) Nice selection of Sushi, that is tasty 2) Large selection of desserts Cons: 1) The servers were very inattentive — we had run out of soy sauce, and tried to flag one down, they ignored us, the manager had to take care of us. 2) What they called Crab rangoons, I am sure were actually just cheese wontons — no crab 3) Their octopus salad was chewier than a rubber eraser 4) The stuffing on the stuffed shrimp was gummy — not good 5) The bacon wrapped shrimp were miniscule, but they did taste good 6) At $ 15.20 for a buffet and a drink, before tax, not a good value for the quality.

OMG. WEFINALLYHAVE A SUSHIBUFFETINTULSA. Granted, it’s nowhere as extensive as Tokyo One or Japan House in Dallas, but it’s definitely a start and better than nothing. Sushi rolls weren’t super fancy, but they were a step up above the sushi rolls served at some Chinese buffets in town and the presentation is really pretty. Other food selection was a nice change from the other buffets in town. They have a lot more soup options(and even soy milk!!) and different things on the bar. Only real complaint was that the tempura vegetables still got cold sitting under the heat lamp, so they weren’t good. For dessert, they have a FONDUEMACHINE(but only served marshmallows with it… waiting for the strawberries!!). I didn’t have an issue with service here(I know some people were complaining about it on their FB page). My water was always filled and plates were picked up quickly. You can definitely get your money’s worth eating here. I can’t wait to go back. Make sure you get a stamp card for your visits!

All I can say is… Wow! I love this place already! I work in the Farm Shopping Center and I’ve been pretty stoked about this place opening for a while now. I went in the night of opening and it was pretty busy. The food was really great, the sushi was even better! I’ve eaten all types of sushi here in Tulsa and the sushi buffet has rolls that are big, fresh and very tasty. The quality of the rolls are to that of ones that you would pay upwards $ 8-$ 10 per roll. My total price was $ 13 for an all you can eat buffet including sushi and I was so satisfied. Loved it! Will be going back.
