I can’t say it’s great but I can say we would go back. It was good and the service was good. Neither prompted a rave review. Certainly worth a visit. We been twice and it was consistently good both times.

As a person from Portland looking for a DT place in Tulsa I trusted the reviews. The food at the Chalkboard is superb but the wine list sucks and the service is equally as impressive. Nice server but I ordered a $ 75 bottle of 2009 deep red wine and they served it in a Riesling glass. I asked for a larger mouthed glass and was told they only had two and they were in use. Hmmmmm. After visiting for a few days go to the Brady District instead. Hope the Chalkboard wakes up because their current chef is excellent.

I love this restaurant and because of that we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner here at their buffet. This review is strictly based upon my experience today. Wow… Extremely disappointed. The food was not up to par and very low quality. I understand that it is hard to cook for a lot of different tastes, especially buffet style. However, the quality and preparation of the thanksgiving feast here was horrible. The food was bland and really just appeared to be of low quality. I am wondering if the deserts were even made in house as the cheesecake bites looked and tasted exactly like the ones at Sam’s club. Very disappointed with the food. The service was great though these the two stars. Love this restaurant, but today they really dropped the ball.

One of my favorites in Tulsa! Unique and nestled in the basement of an old hotel. Such character and class all rolled into one. And the food, amazing!

I love that they keep some of the classics on the menu but also keep the rest of the menu fresh and changing. Sat at the bar solo tonight and Kiersten the bartender was excellent. She was busy with other folks but I never felt like I was waiting and didn’t feel like I got too much attention. Perfect balance and she knew the menu well. I had the beet salad and daily flatbread. She recommended he flatbread. Both were excellent. Beer and wine selection is top notch for Tulsa.

The chalkboard is very quaint, intimate and cozy. I stayed at the ambassador hotel for a bachelorette weekend and the restaurant was a major plus. The hotel itself is full of character all while being modern. We ordered something off of the dinner menu — only to find out their was a secret menu! Well it wasn’t secret — it was the bar menu. That is where they hid delicious delectables that included but weren’t limited to– cheeseburgers and Mac n cheese!!! Which were amazing. The chef there also just decided to make us an appetizer on the house to try– which was the tuna tar tar. He was very nice and said he had been experimenting and wanted to test his results. We gladly obliged. Overall it was very cute atmosphere, nice full bar and friendly staff. I would not recommend this venu for a large party. That’s the only downside

What a fantastic plase. Josh, Kyle and the team have it down. They made me feel like this was my home. Great place… recommend this to anyone that comes to Tulsa.

Looking to be impressed or impress? Look no further than the charm of the patio or sophisticated inside tables here at Chalkboard. I have been here for both a dinner and brunch now and can assure you will return many a time! Dinner: The petit filet. I mean… wow. Juicy, flavorful and just the right portion. ProTip: Try not to inhale the bread and butter(you’ll be so tempted) beforehand. Brunch: When I came for the restaurant week 20153 course bundle of happiness we sat on the porch. My favorite dish was the hashbrowns with brisket entrée. It was cooked perfectly — the hasbrowns just the right amount of crisp and the meat oh-so-tender! A drool-worthy experience. Even through I didn’t indulge in the giant mimosa canter then, I saw other tables with the enormous carafe and thought of all of the excuses I can make to come back for one soon. All the service is on point and I couldn’t ask for better experiences here!

I’ve always seen/heard about this restaurant, so I thought Restaurant Week this year was the perfect opportunity to try them out. I came here for brunch this past Saturday and got: — The seasonal soup(Chicken tortilla): It was fine. Typical chicken tortilla soup — Chicken and waffles: Also fine. — Cheesecake: Had that weird fridge taste when you put something into the fridge for a long time uncovered Overall, I wasn’t super impressed. I had expected a lot more, considering how this is one of those«famous”/timeless establishments of Tulsa. At other restaurants I’ve eaten at during Restaurant Week, it seems like we always full-sized portions. Here, they seemed kind of stingy with the food. Service was good, so +1 star for that.

Mehh. Ate here for lunch. My alvocado, BLT was pretty basic. I figured for the price it would have been loaded up with the ingredients but there was a single layer of everything. Fries were fine… nothing I’d write home about. My husband did enjoy his Bloody Mary. It was very flavorful. He had the stuff French toast which was also just ok. They were kid friendly as far as having high chairs but no kids menu. I think it’s probably a better dinner place.

I’ll be back! Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Started off with the mussels and the caprese; the mussels were well prepared and the caprese came with a fantastic, smokey balsamic. My entrée was the Beef Wellington. I was originally going to get something else until I saw a gentleman who had ordered the Wellington, and his facial expression at his first bite told me I needed to try it. He did not mislead me. Cocktails were good as well, and the waiter was attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. My beautiful date had the diver scallops and curry risotto and she throughly enjoyed it. Finished the night with my favorite, a [Grand Marnier] crème brûlée and a cappuccino, and requested to move to the patio for dessert. Although the view is hardly worth getting excited about the breeze was excellent for a cooler summer night.

This is one of the only restaurants within walking distance of my office. I went there once before and loved the ambiance and the stuffed portabella mushroom was delicious. I had a much different experience this time around. They recently redecorated and it still looks fantastic and the atmosphere is cozy and chic. The server, while somewhat attentive, seemed a little scatter-brained and rushed(however since it was around lunch time on a week day I won’t fault him for that). I ordered the stuffed portabella again since I had been craving it. I was severely disappointed. My conclusion was that they must have changed chefs because this was not the same dish I had back in November. The mushroom was practically raw(not baked as it was the previous time) and had a pile of very bland black beans and corn on top. The butter they serve with the bread is delicious, and I ended up eating more bread than my meal. When it came time for dessert we asked for a menu(which they don’t have). The server came back and recited the options and I decided to go with the plain new york style cheesecake. I was slightly disappointed with that too. The cheesecake itself was decent but the crust was soggy. Overall I think I’ll reserve this place for an occasional happy hour drink since I still love the atmosphere.

Had a fantastic romantic meal at the Chalkboard. Beef wellington was outstanding, as was the seabass special. Tuna tartare starter was the only low point of the evening, but even that was still good just not as good as everything else. Will be adding this one to the list for future date nights!

The Stuffed French Toast was sweet. A good sweet. With their green apples & mascarpone, it made it worth its sweet wild. I had to choose between smoked bacon & sage pork sausage, but I went with both. Both were good as well. Their mimosas were good as well. The glass was mostly filled with champagne(of course) but you couldn’t taste it, that’s how I like my drinks. The bartenders & waitress were attentive with the service. If you have a room at the hotel that’s connected to it, they can just add it to your bill.

Everything was just ok but I would consider again in the future. I would give them the benefit of the doubt as we went on valentine’s day where they served a set menu. It was overpriced though for three courses and a glass of sparkling wine for $ 73 – 85. Service was attentive but there was a mix up once on an order of wine that was easily fixed. We both had a lobster bisque for appetizer that was too salty and had no actual bits of lobster in it. Just about everyone was getting the filet and that didn’t disappoint. Desserts were very well done though.

Instantly became a top restaurant for me in Tulsa and where I plan to bring future visitors who want a taste of what Kanye would call the Good Life. I had the petit filet for my the main course and it was without question the best steak I’ve had in town. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and each bite was tender and juicy. The bread and butter starters were some kind of wonderful and will test even the most dedicated health conscious peeps. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Nothing but love for this joint!

We had a wonderful experience at Chalkboard while in town for work. As it was a quiet Monday evening, we had a large table to ourselves in the back room, which felt even more secluded than the restaurant itself. We started with salads, which were perfect. A pro tip from our server regarding the field greens salad suggested we order dressing on the side; I’m glad she told us because I used a fraction of what they provided. The salad was large and perfect to split, which they did in the kitchen. A few enjoyed cocktails or a glass of wine, and the selection was great. For dinner, I opted for the bone-in breast of chicken. It was flavorful and delicious, served with the skin on and heavily seasoned. The chicken was actually a touch salty. For someone else, it may have been too salty, for me it was perfectly fine because I like certain things, chicken being one of them, very salty. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and the rainbow carrots were very good. I could have eaten several more carrots and would perhaps liked to have seen a few more on the plate. Do not, under any circumstances, pass up the bread plate. Even if you’re on a low carb kick or even if you don’t normally do bread. Both the bread and the butter are outstanding. When in Tulsa, make a reservation, bring a good friend, allow plenty of time and enjoy a truly wonderful meal.

It was a bit of crazy night due to the Garth concert, but the Beef Wellington was superb. The cheese plate was descent too. The food seems very seasonal with some good choices for cocktails and wine. However, they run out of things frequently so don’t get your heart set on anything. Our service was spacey, this is probably a 3.5 if I could give it a ½.

Pricey and overhyped. Wasn’t impressed. For a restaurant that has such history and tradition, I expected better service and food. My eggplant napoleon was undercooked and tasteless. They ran out of two dishes(brushetta and artichoke lasagna) that they were known for. My husband thought his beef wellington was mediocre.

I took my parents here for dinner while they were in town from Texas. Needless to say, they loved it. It all comes down to its quaint yet upscale vibe, AMAZING spinach and artichoke lasagna that I ordered, and large drink selection. I can see this being a great date spot, as well. You need to try this!
