Hidden gem. Good food, good people! The food is made to order, hot and fresh. I tried the Philly today. It has a crispy tortilla with mushrooms, onions, tomato, lettuce, and a cream sauce. Excellent!

Artful deli indeed. There are paintings covering every square inch of wall space and it is fabulous. I love the big-city feel of this place, even though the owners are from Tulsa and Ponca City, respectively. I felt as though I had walked in off the downtown streets off New York or San Francisco. I haven’t had anything off the menu I haven’t liked, but I can tell you in particular that the baked beans are TODIEFOR(they add brown sugar!!!). They also have the cheapest drinks in town: $ 0.95 for a soda?! Unheard of! The owners are the cooks, which I find extra special, and they are happy to accommodate whatever you need. The table I chose was right next to their workspace and I was eating alone, so they made friendly conversation with me throughout lunch and they even rocked out to Journey’s «Don’t Stop Believin» with me when it came on the radio. YES! After lunch, they asked me if I would test a dessert they were working on which happened to be a pumpkin mousse. Uh, don’t mind if I do… and it was DELICIOUS. Most of the things on the menu were under $ 8.00 and the sandwiches & wraps come with a big handful of chips, a pickle or two, AND a side(get the baked beans; you won’t regret it). You can’t beat the quality(and the service) for the price you are paying here!

The Palate is a cozy little sandwich shop where the service is friendly and you feel genuinely appreciated for being there. There were cookies baking while I was eating and they smelled divine. I took a warm one to go. My turkey sandwich was top notch, and even the soda tasted delicious.
