Visited the Osage Event Center for the first time to see Lewis Black. Considering the fact that I paid $ 40/ticket for General Admission, I was fairly disappointed in a venue that can best be described as a «darkened fair barn». The stage was a decent size and was high enough off of the ground that you could still see the performer while sitting in the back. We arrived at the casino an hour before the show to find a winding line of people waiting to get inside. We ate at the Deli where, for $ 6.50 you can wait 15 minutes and receive 4 tiny chicken fingers and a handful of dry fries. Seeing that the line had finally died down, we decided to head into the half-packed«Event Center» through a single set of doors and found seats on the side near the back. There were 3 small bars that basically looked like card tables with table clothes. They had a few over-priced liquor/mixed drink selections, a couple of wines, and Bud Light on tap for $ 3. I had no problem getting 2 beer cups. My wife ordered wine for $ 5 and received a full plastic cup of red, so not a bad deal. As far as the seating goes, we sat on stiff-backed, fairly uncomfortable stacking chairs(though it beat standing), all of which were on the ground level. This means you are going to want to sit behind someone short. Sound quality was good, but it was a comedian not a band. As we sat on the far side from the entrance, it took us 20 minutes to exit the room via the same doors we entered. People were noticeably aggravated by this and I would imagine this was just a ploy to get people to spend more money at the slot machines. All in all, I would not recommend going here unless you absolutely have to. There are many other venues in Tulsa worth spending your money at.

I’ve seen Three Dog Night, Foreigner, Kansas, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube, and The Molly Ringwalds here. Each show was memorable in it’s own way and I always enjoy the experience. The ticket prices are very reasonable and the space is great for any seat to have a great view of the stage. For these reasons it’s one of the better places to see a show in the Tulsa metro area. The only drawback is the lack of exit doors after a packed show. Be prepared to take about 20 minutes before getting out of there. The bar service inside the event center only serves premium alcohol and beer, so for cheaper prices grab one from the casino bar.

Last concert was overbooked for the venue. There is a near total disregard for patrons comfort and needs. Nearly impossible to get a drink. When you finally get to an understaffed station there are bizarre rules(1 oz perperson… period) Even exiting the event nearly helped ruin a night seeing a comedian. Only 2 small exit doors were open, it took well over 30 minutes. I suppose they thought by forcing everyone to exit into a crowded casino hallway was going to make us want to stay ang gamble. I heard dozens of patrons express their desire to never return.
