I remember in the 90’s when bagels became a huge thing. Honest to God, in 1998 I skipped class once to get bagels. I pulled up to my local bagel shop in my(parents) busted up LeBaron convertible, blasting Days of the New(or some other overly serious alt rock band) to order a Sesame seed with ungodly amounts of cream cheese. So yeah, I was kind of a badass. I think we used to think bagels had some sort of health benefit back then. They gave you energy or something. Flash forward to today, and bagels are just this tasty part of everyday life that you just don’t think that much about… Unless you’re still trapped in the 90’s like me! I freaking still love bagels! Fancy or plain, sweet or savory. I don’t give a crap, I just need bagels as much as I need my Silverchair CD. Old School Bagel Café are just the people in Tulsa to give them to me. First of all, the bagels are delicious. The cheddar and jalapeño is especially good, with a lot of melted cheddar. The French toast is also very good, very rich. The cream cheeses are great as well, half the fun is pairing a bagel with the right cream cheese. They have other baked goods as well. I impulse bought a black and white cookie one time, it was good but mostly made me miss New York. The place itself is very clean. It’s a good place to meet a friend for a casual breakfast. They have a giant tv that was showing Bundesliga soccer when I was in. Cool stuff. So this is definitely my go to bagel place in Tulsa. If you’re here on Sunday mornings you might just hear me coming, blasting some Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger and pining for the days when it was cool to be unambitious.

The cup I got upon ordering a large coffee reads: «There’s no New York in the name, but the bagels are the same» and so is the don’t give a fuck attitude of the cashier who my friend says is a male version of Jane from Daria. Besides that, the prices are low, the bagels are hella fresh at 11:10am on a Thursday, and we beat the lunch rush. I’m definitely happy to have stumbled upon Old School Bagel Café. Old School Bagel Café satisfied my breakfast desires. Jalapeño cheddar breakfast bagel with sausage, large coffee, and a French toast bagel was $ 8.65 which is inexpensive if you ask me. P. s., I don’t recommend the French toast bagel unless you go into it expecting a cinnamon roll.

Do I really need to leave a review? This place is amazing. Fresh, delicious and always has great service! The new location on Yale is huge! Even during lunch rush, we still have great service and enjoy ourselves! I crave the lobster bisque at least once a week. Lucky for me, I work nearby, so giving in to that craving is easy! Definitely one of Tulsa’s best! Thanks for being AWESOME, Old School!

The ONLY place to get a bagel. Their Ruben is amazing! Their cookies. Omg. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing bad there.

Okay, you can’t count me in on the Old School Bagel Café band wagon. It’s legit. I came here for breakfast sandwiches on Valentines day after ditching a fancy reservation to accommodate more friends and it was worth every bite. They have a drive thru and a decent amount of spots inside. It looks like to-go might be the preferred way to eat Old School Bagels for locals. We, however, sat inside. It’s pretty much set up like a fast food joint. They have a wide variety of bagels both unique and traditional. I went with their basic bagel sandwich with bacon on a spinach+parmesan cheese bagel. It was very good. Their service was bit off but it wasn’t that bad. They messed up 2 orders in our group. One of them they fixed and the other we didn’t send back. If I lived near here, you can bet I’d be here all the time.

This place pays great honor and respect to the famous New York water-boiled bagel. It is so casual that you feel right at home and apart of their family. If you want to just grab a cup or coffee or hot Tea to enjoy your delicious bagel or even a quick lunch this is the right place to be ! Go soon don’t miss out on this very busy fast paced NY style ambiance

This place stays busy on the weekends. You can barely get in and out of the parking lot at the Brookside Location. Really good food tho! We always go in for a bagel and cream cheese to complete our Saturday brunches at home. The Everything bagel is our favorite! The staff is super friendly and on point. Good Job Old School!

As natives from Los Angeles, we grew up on great Bagels(don’t listen to East Coast people, New York is not the home of the best bagels). We would drive 45 miles to Western Bagel for family and company events. Old School Bagel was an absolute jewel find for us a few years back. They make Bagels the old fashioned way and we love them for it. One of the few places, outside major cities like Los Angeles or New York where you can find a great salt bagel, one of our absolute favorites. Beyond just bagels, they have an excellent menu of sandwiches, their breakfast bagel has become a favorite. If I was to offer a tip, we once had a Garlic and Salt Bagel in San Francisco, and it was quite spectacular.

Prior to making the change to going Gluten Free I ate here at least 2 – 3 times a week and they never let me down. Their chocolate chunk cookies are amazing. That was a year ago. This year, I am sans anything gluten. They are good at making accommodations, they carry a few varieties of gluten free bagels(Udi’s), and they make a mean BLT on a GF bagel. However, the staff has not been taught anything regarding cross-contamination. So, for those with Celiac, be aware. Since I have been a patron of OSBC the quality of service has declined unfortunately and word to the wise, lunch is always crazy busy.

It’s clear to see that Tulsa loves food, turn around any corner and you’re likely to stumble across a new little hot spot you never knew existed. Brookside is no different, all along this hip new strip, delicious, one-of-a-kind cafès are popping up! One of these new hot spots is Old School Bagel Café. With it’s wide variety of freshly baked New York Style bagels, breads and desserts this place is sure to be a favorite for many. I originally had planned on getting a bagel, after all it’s a bagel café, but when my eyes saw the alluring word Ruben, my heart was set! I ordered the Ruben on Rye and an iced tea. While I waited for my food, I took in the décor. With old family photos and a stone cut fireplace, I couldn’t help but feel like I was visiting a friend! After a few minutes, my food arrived and boy did it ever! The sandwich was a good 5 – 6 inches thick; stuffed with fresh corned-beef, gooey Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, in between two pieces of homemade rye bread, lightly glazed with their house thousand island dressing. This sandwich was both delicious and filling! A real hunger killer, I will defiantly be back!

Yo wanna da bagels? The only time OSBC has let me down is when my bagel is all gone. Consistently the best bagels I’ve had and the cookies are incredibly sinful. The Ranger cookie is one of the best but my all time favorite is the Original Black & White! I haven’t found a true Black & White in Tulsa until now. So excited to have a supplier for my addiction. It’s very busy on the weekend mornings so, if you don’t mind a short line it’s well worth the wait.

If you’re in Tulsa and want a bagel, Old School is where you must go! While they aren’t the greatest bagels in the entire world, they’re easily the absolute best in Tulsa. You can’t go wrong with any of their bagels, but I personally love the Everything or Sesame Seed. Asiago and French Toast are also super yummy! I usually order low fat cream cheese, but I think Old School’s tastes a little weird, so I recommend just getting regular cream cheese here. If you want something a little more substantial(though their bagels are HUGE and I’m always full after I eat like half of one), I love the lox and cream cheese sandwich. Breakfast sandwiches are great, too, but order them on bagels to make them even better. Also, I never really buy cookies or pastries when I’m out to eat because I figure I’m already being unhealthy enough, but Old School’s cookies are ridiculously good and unique. I can’t resist getting cookies here, and if you’re trying Old School for the first time, you should definitely get at least one — even if you aren’t hungry after your bagel, you can save the cookie for later. Ambiance inside is great — very New York and sort of divey feeling. They have pretty lights strung up on the ceilings, and it’s a really great place to meet up with friends for a quick meal or even just come by yourself to sit and read the paper. My brother and I came the other day and realized for the first time that there’s an outdoor seating area, so we went out there and it was really nice! Also another tip — the lines get really long on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so you should try to come on a weekday for no wait.

This is the perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Any bagel you get is going to be great, but especially the Asiago, jalapeño, and cinnamon sugar ones(for days when you need an extra sweet treat!). The lunch sandwiches are good too, with my favorites being the chicken bruschetta and chicken ceasar sandwiches. Grab a cookie to go on your way out — they are delicious! It’s got a perfect location on brookside, so even though the parking lot can be a bit of a mess on the weekends, I stop every time I’m in the area.

Old School has THEBEST bagels in town. There is no bagel more soft, chewy, and fresh than those from Old School. You won’t find stale or hard bagels here. They have a large variety of bagels and spreads as well as a huge assortment of bagel sandwich creations. Additionally, the other baked goods such as muffins and cookies are unbelievably good. The cookies are big and always taste fresh out of the oven even when they’re not warm. There are even a few gluten free options which is always so nice for those adhering to a gluten free diet. The inside has a good number of tables and there is a small patio for outdoor seating as well. There is usually a line inside but it moves quickly. Because this place is always busy, it can be a little hectic/loud inside. The biggest downside of Old School is the drive through line. It is usually backed up into the street which can cause traffic and parking issues. The drive through line can take a while so I recommend parking and going inside if you want something to go. But rest assured, this place is worth the small wait!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Tulsa. My husband and I go here every week. The best thing to get – BLT option on an everything bagel with no mayo add chive and onion cream cheese. Then YOU must get cookies!

OSG — you gots what I need. And, it feels like we are more than just friends. I really appreciate your consistency and vibe of: fast-paced funky fresh, endless menu options and COOKIES. This isn’t just your place to grab a plain bagel w/cream cheese. No, no. I mean you can, but c’mon — be adventurous and mix it up! My favorite thing here is the BLT on an everything bagel sandwich. It’s loaded with TONS of fresh, crispy bacon. There is an army of employees working here but as you can see, this place is 5-star good so there will most likely always be a wait. The drive-through is a little slower than going inside(like all other places) but is still a nice option to have. The cookies are out of this world good and make fantastic gifts for dinner parties!

We are at Old School at least once a week. It is the go-to place for bagels. I love the blueberry bagels with the honey almond cream cheese. Just a warning, they put a lot of cream cheese on the bagels… it is really good though! My boyfriend gets the breakfast sandwich with ham, egg, and cheese. Everything is always very good. The restaurant is very small and always crowded. It tends to get loud very fast. They are very fast at getting orders out, but sometimes hard to find a place to sit. The parking lot is also very hectic. We have seen two or three people get hit in the lot. I suggest parking across the street. Old School is for sure the place to go for an upscale bagel experience.
