Okay so i been there so many times and The food was fine but the service is really really bad. Always missing tools all the times. I hate to ask for it but i have to so many time in a day. There are no spoon, i have to ask for it, there are no napkins, i have to ask for it, and drink without straws. The girl with glasses on does service for my table just never smile or even care that what do we need. I have to asked so many times and she just like«Ughhh Fine » that just so disappointed. Even when you done eating, there are still standing there and watching you walk away without a «Thank You ». Prices are expensive. And definitely i wont come back. The services is really pissed me off.

We went to Mandarian Taste with high expectations on a Friday night having read some of these reviews. Bottom line is, the food was decent but the service was(not exaggerating) the most awful I have ever experienced. It took approximately an hour and 15 minutes for the last of our group’s dishes to come out(each of which were staggered… maybe 15 minutes between each dish). The first person in our group ended up just having to eat her dish while the rest of us waited or else it would have gotten ice cold. We were served by several people over the course of the hour(and by «served» I mean they topped our water glasses… no one ever stopped by to ask if we needed anything) and they all were extremely short and acted like they hated being there. When I pulled aside one of the waitresses and told her that we had been waiting an hour for the last dish to come out and asked if she could check on it, she said something like«we are busy» with no apology. This is not a big restaurant, maybe 15 smaller tables total, and an hour wait for food is ridiculous anywhere. I was offended by how I was treated here. We noticed other patrons in the restaurant were also getting upset about the wait. I heard a guy at the front who had called in an order for takeout telling someone he had also been waiting an hour. The only dishes they seemed to be able to get out in a timely manner were the hot pots. Even if the food had been amazing I wouldn’t step foot in this place again. It was decent at best, I took my dish home but my other friend bought one of the more expensive beef dishes and barely ate any of it. Maybe the wait is not as bad at off-times but I can’t get over the awful service.

The food had a funny taste and is very overpriced, but that was not the worst of my experience here. I went with a few friends and we waited nearly an hour for our dishes, and I had to wait 20 – 30 minutes longer than mine when it had been sitting, since it was not steaming hot when I finally got it. I had high expectations after reading the other reviews, but after this experience I will not return.

Great tasting food. We had the steamed buns and the braised pork with the steam buns as well as the orange chicken. The food was seasoned enough and sauced enough where it was not over powering.

I came here a few days ago set with high expectations. Those expectations were instantly shot down at the door by the hateful staff. They acted as if they not only hated their lives, but their jobs too. Our food had an awful funk to it and when we spoke to a manager/owner, they were only offended, she raised her voice, and steamed off like a child. Avoid this place like the plague.

Wow wow wow! We read an interview from the owner of Mandarin taste in Tulsa People magazine. My wife had never had authentic Chinese food. For the record PF changs and the like is not authentic. They specialize in hot pot cooking. We chose to order individual dishes however. The owner came out and talked with us, helping make a section. She’s a very interesting person. We ordered the cilantro beef, pork belly, and steamed beef and onion buns. Everything was unique and well prepared. The flavor was incredible. I repeat this is authentic! I put this in the top 5 in Tulsa for all of my fellow foodies. Go try it and meet the owner!

You know it’s a good sign when you see lots of actual Asian people at an Asian restaurant. I was craving Chinese and not up for the typical Pei Wei fare. Went to Mandarin Taste based off of Unilocal reviews, and it didn’t disappoint! The menu was pretty clear, all things considered. Our server didn’t speak very good English, so he wasn’t particularly helpful with explaining anything, but everything we got was delicious. They even gave us free cheese wontons because our food was taking awhile. Everything came out piping hot(as in, it had just been prepared, not microwave-hot) and tasted really fresh. I wasn’t brave enough to try the Hot Pot but once I figure out how it works, I’m going for that! So glad I found Mandarin Taste and can’t wait to order take-out!

This is hands down the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in all of Tulsa proper. As a young professional who does not cook, I average 2 – 3 dinners at Mandarin Taste every week. Although I always get their authentic offerings, they also serve amazing«Americanized» Chinese dishes for those of you who are not as adventurous, which I sometimes partake and enjoy just as much. All of my friends, Chinese and non-Chinese alike, loved them at first try and keep going back. I wanted to single out a few dishes to recommend to my fellow Unilocalers, but had the hardest time thinking of anything in particular as they are ALL great! Shout out to Sally who opened the place and continues to serve her customers with exemplary service and awesome food. Your restaurant is really the beacon of hope for an expat living in Oklahoma like myself. :)

I have eaten here now twice and had take out once and I can say that is one of the best Authentic Chinese Restaurants. Very good food, variety and prices are reasonable. And I have been happy since take out and in restaurant service has been quite fast.

This is an excellent restaurant! I’ll be honest. I am new to Chinese cuisine but they have a dish for every palate be it meaty, salty, fish, spicy, or sweet! And they are always so friendly.

Came in with high expectations from the reviews but food was ok. Prices are high. Spent $ 41 and was not satisfied. Presentation was beautiful but food was not up to par to my palette.

The absolute worst service ever. We went around 245 and we were the only people there but horrible service because the waitress was on her phone the entire time. She got our order wrong and offered to nothing to mk it right. Would not recommend.

I ordered their amazing Cilantro Beef and was thrilled while it was being served. Sizzling hot and spicy. That dish made me feel so alert, my eyes popped open with vim, vigor & vitality! My experience at Mandarin Taste was highly anticipated. I read about Sally Yau and her original vision of opening an authentic Chinese restaurant … because most around Tulsa were disappointing. She’s right!(Publication: August 2015 TulsaPeople Magazine). I’m reading other reviews about slow service and slow delivery but I must bounce back at them because Mandarin Taste serves fresh Chinese cuisine, cooked to order. Reasonably priced and generously portioned. Excellence is always worth waiting for! The location and menu are composed artistically. Nice décor. Beautiful and unique! I met the owner on my first visit and I liked her immediately. Best dining experience in a thousand miles or more. So Go, Go, Go!!!

They have amazing food! My friend and I ordered two dishes and then split it. There was plenty left over! The only thing is if you order delivery expect it to be over an hr even if you’re close by. I’m at 91st and Sheridan and it took over an hr to get here which is why I demoted it to 4 instead of 5 stars. Also be careful if you order things extra spicy! I usually can handle a lot of flame but it was almost too spicy to handle even for me. Also hopefully you don’t live in an apartment complex bc you’ll spend 5 – 10 mins on the phone trying to explain where you’re at to someone who barely speaks English. Other than that this place is great!

Very flavorful entrees! With that said, don’t go here when in a rush. The service is beyond slow, even when they aren’t busy. Even with slow service, we will be back because each dish we ordered was cooked perfectly and to our liking. Of course it helps if you are familiar with Chinese dishes, so you already have an idea of what ‘should’ taste good. It is a two hour drive for us to eat here, but we will be back the next time we are in town!

FYI it’s been a couple days and I just heated up my left over broth and it still taste amazing with all the veggies. So if you ate all you meat and still have broth? Add the rest of your veggies. It must be an Asian rumor but my grandmother said you lose weight eating cabbage broth. So what do you have to lose?

Pros: googled«authentic Chinese» and that’s what I got. Beef chow fun, soft tofu, pepper chicken, and Bok Choy. My roommate and I will definitely be back to try the whole fish and duck. Cons: my fiancé was not a fan, but he’s Korean. Didn’t grow up eating traditional Chinese foods. Luckily, they had Americanized options like Kung pao chicken(which we got for free because we order $ 40+ of food).

The food was fresh tasting and came quickly(only three other tables were there at the time). I was impressed with the quality of the food for the price. I have been twice and both times leave me wanting to return again. I recommend this place to those who want more authentic style Chinese fare and those long to branch out from the«dime-a-dozen» quick style Chinese joints. For being in an inauspicious location, the quality seems what one would get at higher end dining establishments. The beef noodle is very good as well as the leek pork dumpling which are each about the size of a pancake, 4 to an order. The spicy fish soup is nice as well, but recommended to those liking spicier fare — it was a but much for my dining partner, but I enjoyed it. Shrimp egg roll was the least impressive, I probably would not order again. The atmosphere is very casual, and it was a bit warm inside for being a mid-spring rainy evening. Service is friendly, and I highly recommend trying it out.
