I’d love to give this place 5 stars, but the prices are a bit too stiff to warrant it. However, I do love this place and rely on it heavily. I say«heavily» in that I NEED this place to exist rather than come here frequently. My in-laws are Hindu, and they have taught me how to cook proper South Indian cuisine. A staple in many of these dishes is curry leaf. Fresh curry leaf to be precise. And Laxmi always seems to have it! That and the proper Indian green chili are a must. I haven’t found a single other place in Tulsa that sells the curry leaf, and the smell of fresh leaf is amazing. Regarding the price, I know these guys aren’t crazy busy, and I know they need to stay in business, so I don’t mind paying for the service. I just know certain things are outrageously priced because every time I’m back in NY to visit my wife’s family I’m shocked to hear what they pay for everything from ghee to cumin seed. Again, I won’t complain as without these guys i’d be flying in my curry leaf ;)

This cute little shop has a lot of what anyone would need to cook and/or satisfy Indian cuisine preparations. I love the refrigerator section because they carry several types of exotic fruit juices. One of my favourites is the green mango. I recently noticed they have them in the normal large carton and now tiny take-away cartons. Yum! They owners are super sweet and they are open seven days a week. Plenty of parking.

Their working hours are very erratic. They seem to run the store at their own convenience than their customers. The first time we went it was closed in the early morning and afternoon. No notice on their shop about hours being closed etc. Prices are too hiked. They may have the advantage of their location but still things are very costly. You can buy the same items in New Jersey or San Francisco at half the total bill amount. Couple of older food stock, suspicious of even being expired. Not much variety. Helpful mid-age couple behind the counter though.

I can say worst of all Indian stores we have visited so far. We just came from New York and we were looking for Indian Stores in Tulsa. We visited this place as it was close to us and now we regret going there. We had to trash all haldiram snacks along with other snacks the very next day after we bought as they were expired. There were tiny insects in peanuts and the Groceries were freaking expensive, almost double the prices in NY. Very dissapointed. After experiencing all this we are not happy at all with Laxmi Spices and we will NEVER visit this store.

Great selection of the spices and ingredients necessary to cook authentic Indian food. Ask for help, the staff is super friendly. The most overlooked thing is the frozen dinner selection. They have a ton of variety. When you just don’t have the time but are craving that authentic Indian flavor I strongly suggest just perusing and trying something at random. I’ve yet to be disappointed.

Love this place for all ingredients of Indian cooking. Where else you gonna find dried curry leaves??? Good selection of all spices and all specialty items needed. Frozen section too! Naan! The first time I went there, the lady that works there took my Tikka Masala recipe and gathered everything I needed and brought it to the register.
