Best sandwich in Tulsa! Jay is awesome and always very friendly. Everything is fresh and the meat is sliced in front of you to order. The hoagie is stuffed with meat, veggies, then topped with more meat to hold it all together. Also, if you’re in a hurry, Jay’s is on the OrderOnMyWay carryout ordering app. I always order on the app so that when I get to Jay’s my hoagie is ready for me! Next time you’re craving a good sandwich, definitely head over to 91st& Sheridan!

Awesome little sub shop hidden back off of Sheridan on the N.W. corner of 91st St South. I stop by here every few weeks when I feel the need for a good sub. If your nearby and thinking Subway — think again and go by this place for a Great Sub! I usually have the Italian 6″ with everything on it. I wished I would have paid more attention to the owner when he said where the bread was from. It’s baked fresh daily somewhere here in town by another local business. If you want to feel a little less guilty, try the wheat bread. It’s every bit as good as the white bread and you can tell it’s baked fresh daily.(I know, Subway’s is baked fresh, too, but it can’t hold a candle to Jay’s.) They have a chalkboard full of options — most of which I have not tried. But I’ve never been disappointed with any of my choices. «The Italian» — with everything on it — is a great place to start if you’ve never been there. Of course, you can have them leave anything off that you object to.

My girlfriend likes this place. I know what a hoagie shop should be and this place lacks everything. First off why not offer bacon? Or anything that doesn’t scream Subway. I mentioned to my girlfriend, after eating my jays hoagie, that it reminded me of subway, no taste no flavor. Oh and since I am so close I noticed the other day they were out of black olives and wheat bread, cmon dude get it together. Oh and they didn’t put any mustard on my hoagie like I requested, but whatevs. Your business not mine.

I hope you have good teeth. After walking in to this very small establishment, I wanted to walk out. With less meat choices than a Subway and bread so chewy that it made my teeth hurt… Jay’s is like making a sandwich at your friends house, and not in a good way. I order the Italian sandwich. Ham, salami, and capicola. Of the three I’m certain they forgot to slice one for my hoagie. Fresh sliced meats are only a good thing if the meats are of decent quality. I’m certain the ham is nothing more than cheap«water-added pork product» that I could get for $ 2 a pound at the local mega mart. The oil in my oil n vinegar dressing tasted old and left an unpleasant spoiled flavor to cost my tongue which is the best of a bad situation between pre packaged provolone and bagged shredded lettuce. I won’t be back. I’m calling Jimmy Johns.

Jay’s is a smallish sandwich shop in South Tulsa(91st& Sheridan). It’s a family-run place and you’ll likely see the whole family working there. You can order a 3, 6, or 12 inch sandwich, though they mentioned they just added an 8 inch option for those who want«a couple of bites more than the 6 inch sandwich allows.» Their bread is either white or wheat, and is not made in-house, but it’s very fresh. Many of the sandwiches are named after family members or perhaps friends so you’ll have to read to find out what each one has on it. Nana’s chicken salad is a family recipe that is being used to feed Tulsa. It’s not a Waldorf Salad which contains grapes, walnuts, apples and maybe other things too. It’s old-school chicken salad like my grandma used to make. It’s simple, delicious and filling. Jay said the ingredients are basically chicken(chunks, not shredded), mayo, celery, and lemon juice — and you can salt and pepper to taste. I know I’m probably forgetting an ingredient in there, but it’s just that simple. Oh, and I also added oregano. I HIGHLY recommended this sandwich. A co-worker that I went with sliced off a small portion of the Italian hoagie he got so I could try it too. It was definitely good, but the chicken salad is crazy good. I would also recommend sticking with the 6 or 8 inch sub if you think you’re hungry because Jay doesn’t skimp on ingredients — the 12 inch sandwich is beyond the ability of the vast majority of the population to finish…

Certainly not the best hoagie ever made, but certainly not the worst… better than subway for sure! But really this place is a disappointment as it could be a lot better if they put in a little more effort. The meats aren’t bad. Not boars head quality or anything. But they do use real capicolla so that’s a plus. And lets be honest, the sandwich shops back east don’t always use the premium grade stuff either, so no complaints. Vegetables are fresh but the peppers are just store bought jars. If they tried to pickle their own or bought a little higher end than Merzetti the end product would be way better. Lastly, the bread SUCKS. I know this is Tulsa and no one understands what a good hoagie roll is supposed to taste like but these aren’t it. I saw them on the back counter and they are just Reasors brand. So I am sure they are relatively fresh but they just aren’t any good. I hope these guys read this review and understand that the Reasors rolls are really lousy… I’ll tell ya, there is a little Vietnamese place over on 81st and Harvard and they have a great Hoagie roll(Banh Mi) go over there and buy some from them, cause yours aint getting it done. I had to just rip half of it off and eat the sandwich open faced. Im rooting for you guys, though. I hope you can shape up the ship. I think you could adjust the prices upwards if you got your quality in line so it shouldn’t be a huge deal to fix. Tulsa really needs a good sandwich shop.

Sandwiches are made fresh many times by the owner himself. The first time I was in he convinced me to let him put a few sweet peppers on my sandwich… now I ask for extra. Great sandwich!

One of Tulsa’s best kept secrets! I try and get down to Jay’s at least once a week, if not more… I love it for a few reasons, it’s Local, Jay is ALWAYS there, and it’s so fresh! Key to a good sandwich(or Hoagie in this case) is the bread, and Jay’s is on point! Next comes the meat… sliced to order… next the toppings… personally I’ve never been a big fan of veggies or peppers, but there is just something about the way Jay builds his hoagie that they all just mesh together for a perfect sandwich! Word of advice, even if you don’t like peppers, you gotta try the sweet peppers on your sandwich just once… you will not be disappointed!

I had lunch at Jay’s today for the first time. It will certainly not be my last. Jay’s offers Hoagies of all types and in standard sizes. I’m not sure what brand of meat Jay uses, but rest assured, it is of high quality. I had the Ally(Turkey and Salami). Two things in particular stood out for me at Jay’s. 1. The bread — This stuff is fantastic. Absolutely delicious. Perfectly soft. 2. The Sweet Peppers — I did not initially order my hoagie with the sweet peppers, but boy am I glad Jay(or the man I assume to be Jay) offered me a taste prior to adding my veggies, so that I had time to amend my order
