Unfortunately this restaurant suddenly closed with no indication as to if it reopen in another location. The food was excellent and I hope it reopens soon.

First time dining there and will be my last. Had a coupon they would not honor. I feel they could have made some sort of compromise with us as it was our first time there. Nothing. We weren’t seated more than 5 seconds and was asked what we wanted to drink and appetizers. Jeez. Let us look at the menu. I ordered a hibiscus iced tea. It was fair. Server asked me if I liked it and told him it was ok. A few minutes he brought me a glass of water saying it was to replace the tea I didn’t care for. Really? Wouldn’t you ask if I wanted to change my tea for a coke or something? Not. Food was ok too. Server set a bad example for this restaurant. We won’t be back.

After reading other reviews, I think staffing is a big problem. I have been a loyal customer for 3 years but last night was a nightmare. I came for appetizers and drinks with friends. The menu had changed and I knew already some appetizers are not happy hour pricing. I specifically asked the waitress about the shrimp and she said yes. Towards the end of happy hour I wanted some more so I ordered another round with the same waitress and again asked if was still happy hour. When we got the bill it wasn’t reflective of that. She said she didn’t know what appetizer would be priced differently and only the computer knows. Wtf? I confronted her what she had told me earlier so she supposedly went to the back and talked to to manager. I don’t think she own up to her mistake because she came back and said shrimps are too expensive. So I gave up because it was a busy night and explained how the bill needs to be decided by 2 cards. Of course she got it wrong so when the bill came again and I tried to nicely again tell her she bring another bill still wrong. I never not tipped anyone before and this was the first! The food is still great but the wait staff is horrendous.

If you get Mike, leave as soon as possible. He is the worst waiter i have ever had. He touched his phone behind the counter and then came and served me and my family things. The food was good, but because Mike was such a bad waiter, it took 45 minutes to get our food, because he didnt put the ticket in for 25 minutes because he was playing with his phone, and acting like a vegas bar tender. I’m also pretty sure he put down extra spicy on our food because one person ordered spicy. When i asked him why my regular food was so spicy. It turned into him making excuses, instead of trying to make it right. He needs to go. this is the third time I’ve had horrible service from him every time. He also takes the check before you leave the table which is very poor form for a waiter. If you get someone else, your food will be faster, probably not ruined by extra spicy, and you’ll get in and get out. When i come in there and have a different waiter/waitress i can literally be in and out in 30 minutes. Also when Mike isn’t your waiter you actually get refills! Avoid Mike at all costs, He is awful. Love the food here, just awful service from Mike. 2⁄5 because of Mike.

I got the Pineapple Shrimp with my two sides being fried plantains & festival bread. All good! The shrimp was spicy, like how I like my food. It was soaked in juices, carrots, other veggies, herbs & spices. The fried plantains were good as well, not too sweet. The festival bread was cool. I think mine was over fried for the most part so I couldn’t enjoy it as a whole. I was only capable of eating bits & pieces of it. I ordered to of theirs drinks: Jamaican Mule & Bob Marley Punch. Both were good! The Mule was more on the sweet side while the Punch was super strong! Both reasonable prices, check them out! The bartender was cool. Made sure everything was ok. Kept a casual conversation here & there(as well with others who were eating as well). Good vibes all around.

Had the pineapple chicken, sweet but still had a Caribbean spice to it. Plantains and festival bread are very good too!

The food is pretty good, but unfortunately I got really sick after eating there a few weeks ago. It’s a real shame cause I don’t think I’ll be going back.

I don’t take issuing 1 star reviews lightly. I’ve only ever issued one 1 star review previous to this one. They no longer accommodate vegans. The only thing for vegans are the sides and the kitchen in unwilling to work with you at all. This place was a rad spot for vegans but, this is no longer the case. I used to love this place and am quite saddened by the recent changes it has undergone. I can’t recommend it to anyone, vegan or otherwise, either. Our party of four, 2 vegans, 2 omnis, waited an hour, no exaggeration, for our appetizer. Our waiter was very nice but, he was severely hindered by the kitchen. We waited an equally long time for the two meaty entrees and the vegan sides with which we made due. The management of this joint seems to be nonexistent as the music ranged in volume from quiet to blaring from song to song, when music was playing. It’s a small point, but bears writing as it speaks to the lack of supervision, they played the same song 4 times in a row. The song played, there would be 5 – 10 minutes of silence, then it would start again. Eventually, the erratic volume thing replaced this, which was only a slight improvement. The 2 other tables in our view were also experiencing the same long waits as we were. It’s not like the place was busy, at all, so that doesn’t explain our experience away. At this point, there is no Caribbean vegan spot in Tulsa, sadly.

Everytime I have been to Hibiscus I have had EXCELLENT food! Love this place. The Curry Chicken is awesome! Make sure you order whatever their soup of the day is. You will not be disappointed! I highly recommend this place!

I’ve been here quite a few times and continue to enjoy it! It is a very down to earth place and all of the staff members are so welcoming that they make you feel like family. I’ve had great service both in large groups and small parties. Service has been consistent from lunch to dinner as well. The jerk chicken is a must here but I don’t think they have the strongest grasp of spice levels. Beware that they can make your food extremely spicy but if you just say«I would like it spicy» it may not come out as spicy as expected. Granted, I believe they would rather not melt your mouth off with unexpected heat and make you upset, so they do have the same hot sauce they use right on each table. If you like it super spicy just be very specific and they will follow through. Serving sizes range which is convenient if you want to share, have leftovers, or limit your portions. I always get the«little jerk» portion of the jerk chicken which is a huge breast and a big drumstick. For sides, if you want to keep it basic then the rice and beans are pretty good. I personally recommend their Mac and cheese. Many people seem to love the festival bread but I can only say that it’s alright in my opinion. The bread is not as soft or as sweet as I prefer but it is great to soak up all the extras on your plate with. A must try drink is the rum punch. It tastes delicious and you can feel it hit you so one is plenty! If you are signed up for Hilton, United or southwest dining rewards then you can get extra point here. It is a pretty small restaurant so if you have a group of six or more I would recommend calling ahead and they will happily work with you.

I’m not into trying new places, but the fiancé was paying so why not!!! We visited this place on a Monday night… it was almost empty so I was a little concerned. … As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by EVERYONE(owner, bartender, waitress) in the building. WHOA! I felt like a star!(I’m ready for my close up! !) I got the tilapia in vinegar with beans, rice, and plantain. The future hubby got the goat. OMG! I DIEDANDWENTTOHEAVEN! The portions are huge. That goat literally melts in your mouth and is seasoned to perfection! Try the Jamaica sodas! A little on the sweet side though. Almost went into a diabetic shock! So why only 4 stars? The vinegar was a little overwhelming on my fish and the rice and means we’re missing something. .I really don’t know what. They weren’t as flavorful as I would like. The owner is a sweetheart. I will be going back!

This was an out of the norm pick for us and I was a bit nervous to say the least. I’m not a fan of burn your face off hot and it looked like that’s about all they had. I was so wrong! Food was spicy enough to make your nose run a bit, but amazing flavors! And the rum cake to finish us off was perfect. 2 of us with starter, main dish with 2 sides each, dessert each and a top shelf margarita our bill was just under $ 60 with both of us taking another meals worth of left overs. We for sure will be back and they’re 2a friendly :]

Love Hibiscus and have featured them twice on my show. The curry goat is one of my favorite dishes in town, especially with a side of plantains to mop up the sauce. Love that they serve both goat and oxtail, as they aren’t easy to find at restaurants in town. Vincent(Owner/Chef) is really cool. They have done great cocktails, and even have some imported Jamaican products available for sale. I usually go for lunch, but if you are a live music/nightlife fan they have music some nights. Check their Facebook page for updates.

It pains me to say that my love affair with Hibiscus has come to an end to the point where I find myself boycotting it and turning others away from it. The reason? Terrible management. It really is such a shame when one person ruins it all. There was one incident in particular that just left a bad taste in my mouth and despite an official apology from the owner(who seems like a pretty cool guy) I’ve decided it’s not worth it, no matter how much I miss their jerk chicken and plantains.

One of my favorite places in Brookside. Laid back atmosphere, especially when it’s nice out and you can sit outside at one of the tables on Peoria. Service has always been solid, and Groupons are often available! I’ve mostly had different versions of jerk chicken — either by the piece or as a sandwich — and it is outstanding. Great spice and a huge variety of hot sauces to use if you want some more heat. The pineapple chicken is also quite good, but my favorite thing on the menu are the Hibiscus Fries. The fries are the right mix of potato-ey and crispy, and come drenched in a spicy sweet sauce. The fried plantains, spinach, and mac and cheese sides are just alright, but the fries are my go-to.

Went here on the suggestion of the hotel bartender. My coworker asked him«if you were to take your girlfriend on a date and price isn’t an object where would you go?» We ended up here. I’ve been to Jamaica a couple times and when I saw they had ackee and saltfish I had to go. For some reason(maybe access to ackee or willingness of Americans to eat it when not all-inclusive?) I rarely see this Jamaican national dish on the menu. Arrived there around 6:30 pm and the place was empty. My coworker had a few allergies and we were informed that everything is cooked to order so this is not an issue. Food takes a bit, but itms better to know that the food really was cooked to order and not just sitting around. I liked how my saltfish wasn’t nearly as salty as i’ve had it before. I had it with cullaloo(sp?) and mac and cheese. The greens were spicy and the mac and cheese was a little cold, but both had great flavor. The portions were generous and I couldn’t finish it all.

Unfortunately we must have gone on a night when it was OVERCROWDED… We showed up and were greeted, and looked as if we wouldnt have any problems getting in and getting a table… We had some things to do that evening, and would have liked to have finished up at a decent hour… I won’t go into grave details, other than the meat pies they had were not good… Very mushy… I have been to Jaimaica and they did NOT taste this way in the land of the true Jamiacans… I will say this, they do MOVE about the rate of the home towners, as our food finally came out after about 1.5 hours there… We love to talk and take our time, but this was just over the top… If you go, please allow plenty of time… No one is in a hurry there at all… We even had a hard time getting more beers delivered to the table.

Why are there so many white people working here??? Whitey waiter didn’t bring us menu’s when he sat us down and after we asked for them he brought them and just stood at our table. Ok mon, put down the ganja and pay attention. So I ordered the ox tail soup with callaoo and cabbage and carrots after I waived whitey down. Wat is up with the Justin Beeber look btw. That is not rasta man!!! Well the food was great, lucky for this establishment food is truly what we huge on.

Great small little place. While the mixed drinks are overpriced, the food is great and reasonably priced. Best jerk chicken I’ve had in oklahoma. I kind of like that it depends who is making it that day, because I’ve had it where I could feel myself start to sweat or just a little tingle around the lips. Been going since they opened. The menu hasn’t change that much, but they have improved. Their initial pork chops were small cutlets, they now have a full chop for you to enjoy. ALso they finally started spicing up their mac’ n chesse. You need to get the plaintains as a side. Only downside is that its such a small place that when they have music its too loud.
