Found the contents of the sausages to be «lumpy» pieces of fat and gristle. There are better sausage makers in the Tulsa area.

This is one of those places I’ve driven by for ages, telling myself I’m going to go here sometime. Then, once you do, you kick yourself for not coming here sooner! Am enjoying a great shrimp étouffée lunch with mustardy potato salad and bread pudding that makes your eyes roll back into your head. Good selection of all food items Lousianne, from frozen meats to seasoning mixes to hot sauces and homemade pralines. They even carry Swamp Pop brand sodas which are some of the best I’ve ever had. I tried a couple flavors at Pop’s by OKC and fell in love with the brand. Am excited I can find them locally! Bön appetit!

I’ve actually been a vegetarian for 9 years, but I’ve eaten here a few times before I stopped eating meat – specifically, when they were just a shop over on 81st(?) and did not have an inside restaurant. We would go pick up frozen crawfish étouffée, boudin, etc to cook at home. My last name is also Hebert, so I am, obviously, cajun. I grew up eating cajun food, and our family cooks generational cajun recipes from my grandparents throughout the year. My parents grew up in Lafayette, LA. I say all of that to note that I DO know what good, authentic cajun food tastes like. Hebert’s Specialty Meats is, without doubt, the most authentic cajun restaurant in the Tulsa metro area. My dad still eats here occasionally and confirms they continue to be delicious and made of awesome. I work in a building behind the restaurant, so I’ll stop in every now and then to buy some Steen’s Syrup.(Hilariously, I was one time asked if I was«from the home office to check up on them» when they saw my last name on my credit card receipt.) They’re always pretty busy, but there doesn’t ever seem to be a long wait. Also, I recommend checking out their annual outdoor crawfish boil. It’s usually in the spring sometime.

I long for the Gulf Coast sometimes. I miss the Cajun food and flavors! But then I discovered Hebert’s(not pronounced Her-berts, FYI) and all is now well for my Cajun food loving heart. I come here to buy andouille sausage and alligator boudin along with crawfish when they come in season. It’s all well packaged and just waiting for a lucky customer to bring it home and cook it up. Go here immediately and stock up!

I got their lunch special for today(Saturday) which was Cajun wings with jambalaya, two sides & French bread. As stated on the menu, they do give you a generous portion of jambalaya. The wings were good, didn’t need any sauce. They also had a little kick, which didn’t bother me because I love spicy food. My sides: green beans that had potatoes & bacon in the mix & bread pudding to have a balance of sweet & salty with my meal. The jambalaya & green beans were good but that bread pudding was delightful. I wish I had more of it to eat! I couldn’t get enough. The employees were nice, they take long to take my order & didn’t take long to have my food ready. Their turducken is something I’m going to have to try, seeing that they’re known for that outside of everything else. When you think cajun, you think Louisiana(of course) but I think for a place like this to be in Tulsa, this’ll do justice.

Best place in town to buy steaks to throw on the grill. The filets, twice baked potatoes, and chicken stuffed with broccoli cheese rice are my favorite buy and take home items. The turducken is amazing, but I prefer to dine-in on Thursdays when they make it, rather than trying to prepare it myself. Drop in on Fat Tuesday, the place is buzzing and you’ll get to try some samples! Great place, friendly staff. So awesome to have a place so great in Tulsa.

The food is always good here. Today’s special is stuffed fish. Very tasty. Come early for lunch if there is a popular item in the menu because it goes fast. The Corn Maque Choux goes fast. This should be listed under restaurants rather than meat shops so people an find it.

Amazing Resturant!!! If you love cajun food this is the place to go. Also has a fresh meat and seafood market, spices and hot sauces plus baking goods and tshirts. Open for lunch and dinner Mon-Sat and has a coffee and brunch Saturday mornings

Yay! So glad I found all of our Louisiana products that I thought I’d have to go without while I was up here! Roux, community coffee, boudin, hot sausage links, Tasso, and can’t wait to go try their fried seafood! These guys are true Louisianians from Lafayette, La. NOW I’m able to cook some decent meals. Thanks guys!

THEABSOLUTEWORST!!! There Turducken is virtually inedible! The bird is dry & virtually devoid of stuffing. To make the experience worse the service is horrible. They failed to ship the Turducken we ordered on time hence it arrived to late for Thanksgiving dinner,(which turned out to be a good thing as we have been embarrassed to serve it)! When we contacted them regarding their shipping error a refund was promised but never issued. They dont even deserve one star, save yourself time, money & aggravation … SHOPELSEWHERE!

This is not my usual Unilocal style because I’ve only gotten overnight delivery from them about 5 times for Thanksgiving. While in OK, not LA, this is some great Cajun! Best Turducken, andouille, Turducken gumbo imaginable, and, while not a Louisianan, much less a Cajun, I’ve had a lot to compare. It’s expensive to ship this stuff frozen, so be prepared for sticker shock, but this is the going price for inferior products too, so try this next Thanksgiving, and you’ll be happily surprised by guests and family comments. Only people who won’t love it are those who don’t like«spicy».

Made an online order for a turkducken. Worst service I have ever received. It was pretty expensive and even though I ordered two weeks in advance it still came late! At first they gave me an excuse about the order being messed up and would ship out next week. I honestly believe they forgot I even placed an order at all. Eventually they stopped responding to me at all. A lot of my friends and relatives wanted to buy something from here but I would never recommend this place to anybody ever.

Good food, truly horrific service. I was served 15 minutes later than everyone else at my table and it then took me an additional 5 minutes to get my sides, which they had forgotten about. On top of that, the wait staff was really rude and unprofessional, and my brother found a hair in his stuffed chicken. In terms of food: Crawfish po-boy was completely dry and bland(maybe they forgot the sauce?); green bean side dish clearly came out of a can. If you must eat here, order the special: this kitchen clearly isn’t equipped to handle anything else. I’m giving it 3 stars because this place is, to my knowledge, the best Cajun Tulsa currently has to offer, but we as a city should start demanding more.

Just about the best New Orleans cusine in Tulsa. Every else in town does an pale imatation, which is weird with Louisana so close. They expanded from just meats to serving blue plate specials at lunch. You can also pick up spices and such that you won’t find anywhere else in town, including Zapp’s chips. Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday Boneless Stuffed Chickens Thursday Turducken with Dirty Rice Friday Catfish stuffed with Shrimp & Crab Stuffing Entrée’ $ 5.95 Meal $ 7.95 Saturday Cajun Chicken Wings All meals are served with your choice of Corn Maque Choux or Green Beans w/New Potatoes & Bacon. Homeade Bread Pudding and Garlic Bread Beignets & Café’ Au Lait Served on Saturdays 10am-12 noon From their website at «The November 2005 issue of National Geographic magazine in an article by Calvin Trillin traced the American origins of the turducken to Maurice, Louisiana, and „Hebert’s Specialty Meats“, which has been making turduckens since 1985 when a local farmer whose name is lost to history brought in his own birds and asked Hebert’s to prepare them in the now-familiar style. The company now sells around 3,300 turduckens a year. They share a friendly rivalry with Paul Prudhomme.»

I have purchased the chicken stuffed with crayfish étouffée(frozen) — very good. They also sell lunch — my sister’s husband says it’s good stuff.

I was told that this was one of the best places to order a turducken… even though it’s not in Louisiana. And boy were they right! The turducken gets shipped on dry ice in a vacuum sealed bag, and all the turkey, chicken, duck, stuffing, and pork sausage was perfect after sticking it in the oven. A little pricey after paying for the shipping, but if I’m going to do a turducken once in my life, then it’s worth the loot. They also sell other Cajun«delicacies» like crawfish etouffe, gumbo, and other stuffed birds…
