I’m late to the Coach party. With the exception of one Gucci bag purchased by my mom for me at age 17 prior to going through sorority rush at college(spoiler alert: the sorority girls weren’t fooled by my expensive purse. They knew I didn’t belong) and a dooney-bourke(sp?) I purchased for myself in the early aughts, I’ve never carried expensive purses. Then, one day, it was written that Coach would create the Poppy line. And that begat the Sequin Spotlight — and your humble author saw the silver one and paid dearly for it on eBay because it was sold out everywhere. It was just so shiny and disco and beautiful — everything I never knew a purse could be. Hooked, I began visiting the Utica Square Coach location to see what other wares might be available. It would be unseemly to go into details but suffice it to say that I dallied with other Poppy items. I always found the service to be top notch. Then, one day, I realized that the Poppy line was no more. Bereft, I stopped visiting the Coach store. No matter how bright, plain leather goods just do not piqué the interest of this Disco Diva. Then behold!!! Just as my Sequin Spotlight items were finally starting to lose their luster(though I still got compliments on them almost daily), I passed the store and saw metallic patent leather! I still long for the return of insane bling a la Poppy, but perhaps at my age metallic patent leather is a bit more dignified. To close: one of my Poppy bags needed a repair and the Utica location whisked it away and sent it off with nary a lift of a finger on my part. Depending on the repair, there can be shipping or other charges, but it’s my experience that the store will take care of all the actual packaging and shipping. On the one hand it is the kind of service you should expect at a more high-end store, but that you don’t always see in reality.

You can never go wrong with Coach and this store and their staff was no exception. If you have read any of my other reviews you will know I am usually talking about fantastic staff rather than the actual product, and this is no exception. Dori, Jamison and several other people helped me yesterday. I was in town for a spa appt but then decided to spend the day shopping. I loved this area called Utiqua Square. If you go to Tulsa, you will love this area. I did not end up buying anything at Coach because the Jewely I liked only came in Gold and I prefer silver and I continue to be undecided whether or not to buy a purse. I travel full time and really only need it for when I am out shopping. I definitely would not take a coach purse to a work site. Anyway, each member of the staff came up to chat-not the lame small talk but seemingly sincere conversation. Jamison and Dori helped me with a lot of fantastic referrals in the area. The best referral was Dori’s suggestion of a lunch place that was just a few doors down called Stonehorse Café. I will write a seperate review on that shortly but if u dont read it here is the jist: go there, eat the burger, order the mimosa=HEAVEN. I still have not decided on which purse to buy but when I do, I am going back to this store. They were so great I may even go to corporate with this review.
