This location is terrible. Bulbs need replacing in several of the beds, and the staff lies about which beds are fixed. This location also has awful customer service. The Jenks location is nicer, but it wasn’t worth keeping my membership. My husband has kept his because he signed a year-long contract, and he likes the 360, which is the only nice bed they have that’s well-maintained. Today, he inquired about the $ 1 membership upgrade from Level 4 to 360. She was completely uneducated about the promotion and could not thoroughly answer his questions about how it worked. She answered all his specific questions with«yeah»(or maybe she knows, and gets a commission?). I looked up the promotion on the ATB website and easily understood the terms from that, so my husband decided not to do it. The employee then told us she already upgraded his membership and can’t reverse it. Now, she’s telling us that WE have to contact corporate to change it, even though she is the one who upgraded the membership without permission. She clearly does not care about customers, and did not offer anything to apologize or make it right. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

Adequate is the best word I have for At the Beach. As a former employee of a very competitive tanning salon, I had heard mixed reviews about it and ultimately chose to tan here simply due to the convenience of location. Price ranges can be affordable or ridiculous, depending on which beds you choose to tan in. I chose the basic Level 1 package($ 24.95/month) since I tan easily and am on a budget. However, I’m familiar with the beds they use for higher levels as well, and they are very nice. I’m just not convinced they’re worth the outrageous monthly cost! My real issue with this location is how it’s run. I’m very easygoing, but I’ve only been here a few times so far and have been irritated on every occasion. The girl who signed me up was very new and unsupervised, so it took way longer than necessary. I came in once 30 minutes after opening and she hadn’t turned the lights on in half of the building so my room was pitch black while I was getting ready. On top of this, they don’t carry what I continue to be high-quality tanning lotion. Their products seem to focus more on strong smells and pretty bottles rather than good skin care. I’ll continue to tan here due to convenience, but if you can, I would at least check out a different At the Beach location if you’ve had good experiences with the company in the past. This store is not a very good example.
