Hello Sarku since I have left the mall has been bad but since returning after months they seemed to have gotten new boxes(they’re black now lol) but that doesn’t change at all how bad the food is there still. The first time I had it again in months it tasted good again but then the 2nd time I went back I got my old usual and I couldn’t finish it and I paid $ 8 for my boyfriend’s food and he ended up getting food poisoning. F U Sarku, never going back again ever ever ever. P. S lady with short hair at registrar is super rude all the time yelling at everyone their total and for their money, she seems like she would get ambushed by a lot of people ready to yell at her back lol, anyways once again never ever ever ever :) also if possible I would give less than a 1 star: D

Good food but worst customer service specially the lady at the cash register. I heard her calling a customer stupid. Seriously? Whatever reason she argue for it is unacceptable to call a customer stupid. This happened on Jan 4th, 2016.

Located in the mall, on the same side as the movie theaters. I just grabbed some chicken teriyaki. There’s was a special where you buy one and get the second one for $ 3.99. Thought that’s a good deal. However the meal itself was ok. It didn’t have much of that teriyaki flavor and the rice wasn’t your normal japanese rice and it’s was over cooked. I’ve had beter but I guess I can’t expect much from a food court.

There in the food court of the mall lies the best teriyaki ever made to mankind. Maybe not mankind, but for my book of awesome teriyaki. When Southcenter Mall was closed for remodeling years ago, I would go to other mall like Northgate to get Sarku Japan, I’m serious. They always have a designated person standing in front giving out free samples of the teriyaki chicken which is a great marketing strategy to try it before you guy it. It was love when my mouth meet with this juicy, nicely seasoned piece of poultry. I’ve been a customer since middle school, which is a long ass time and it has always been a consistent experience with food. They sell other stuff here besides teriyaki chicken, but that is the top selling item, probably 95% of orders are teriyaki chicken because you can see what is being cooked on the grill in front of you. Tthe chicken teriyaki cost roughly around $ 6.50−7, you have the options of getting double meat for only $ 1 more or substitute white rice for fried rice. If you are bringing it home to feed multiple hungry children at home, you really could just order double meat and have extra rice at home to save money. Hahaha.

Holy yuck. This teriyaki chicken isn’t worth biting. I’m leaving it on a table for someone who doesn’t know better.

Let’s be entirely honest: we all come here for the bomb ass chicken, and nothing else. It’s nearly impossible to not order from here after you’ve had a sample or even smelled the chicken. It’s just not possible. With that being said, let me tell you that the chicken is the only tasty thing this place has. Everything else tastes like ass. I’m not sure what ass tastes like, but everything besides the chicken at Sarku Japan is probably a pretty good rendition of it. Steamed veggies — taste like they’ve been steamed in sweet butter. It’s gross, and you can tell the veggies are definitely not fresh. Rice — mediocre at best. Noodles — supposed to be one of the best parts, but it’s just greasy chewy strands of cardboard. Word to the wise: do not ever think«Oh, Spicy Tuna Rolls? I’ll give them a chance,» because you’ll just have wasted money and you’ll be really sad. The Spicy Tuna Rolls were small, rolled AWFULLY, and looked like something I could get at a gas station. The taste? ohmygod. They were so, so chewy and there was no «spice» to them whatsoever. On top of that, you could tell the fish wasn’t fresh, and it smelled funky and the fish just tasted so weird… Service is extremely sub par as well. Employees rush you, and I got charged for two double meats when I only got one, and got charged for two noodle upgrades when I only got one. Sarku Japan is never my first choice, and after this last experience I don’t really want to spend money there ever again.

This is one of the best teriyaki I have. It is not grilled and does not over burned the chicken. It is not too salty and taste really good. We droves 10 miles just to get the teriyaki. Well worth the drive. Wish they have one in Bellevue.

This is the best Teriyaki place at the mall. I’ve been going here since I was a kid, back before the mall was remodeled. I’ve never had a problem here, it’s always been good food. I hope it stays that way. I do remember the double meat being .99 cents, but it’s now $ 1.29. Still a great place!

I go here once every 2 – 3 months. Probably one of the cheapest places in the mall but they charge you for everything, fried rice and/or noodles cost extra than the advertised price($ 6.49), the advertised picture is probably with double meat, which cost $ 1.50 extra, so you end up paying $ 8.50 per plate. Food is very greasy and customer service doesn’t exist here, the cashiers are fast but very rude, they take your order by asking you«what do you want,» «something to drink?» and they don’t smile. The cooks are usually dirty, the place looks dirty and they are usually 5 to 8 person on this little tiny space, the place is just not appetizing.

I love food courts in the mall; it gives me a slew of choices, all fast and cheap which are adequate for a day at mall. I was just walking towards Chipotle(my favorite fast food) when a lady at Sarku Japan gave me a sample of chicken teriyaki. It was good enough to seduce me into ordering a chicken teriyaki combo(with fried rice and veggies) instead of my usual bowl of Barbacoa or chicken at Chipotle. The lady at the counter charged me extra for drink, when I had already mentioned I don’t want any drinks, however, She nicely gave me back the money in cash. The food was just okay. Some chunks of the chicken were too charred and the whole meal was way too greasy and unhealthy for my taste. Grease was dripping off every bite, so much so that I just ate half of the meal and could not finish the rest. The rice and the veggies were pretty good though. Not complaining much for a mall food, but next time, I will probably head straight to Chipotle.

This was a pretty terrible experience. One of the cooks asked everyone at the counter to stand back while he pulled pans off a shelf that were dripping grease all over the cooking food. Sauce bins, counters, everything was covered in grime and congealed sauce. Two people behind me got their orders before I did, though we all had the same thing. Rice was overcooked and the veggies were bland. The meat did not taste like teriyaki. The dragon roll was super stingy on the eel and the fish roe on top was soggy. Not coming back.

Love the chicken teriyaki here! One of my favorite spots for mall food. Reasonably priced for $ 6+change and I got a coupon from the sample person. Portions are huge(enough for two people unless you have a gigantic appetite) with plenty of meat and veggies. Food comes out quick and hot, so the long line goes by quickly. The chicken thigh pieces has some nice char to it and good flavor. The shrimp are tiny, so I stick with the chicken. FYI, you can ask for extra teriyaki sauce and Sriracha sauce when you pick up your food. Noodles and fried rice available for an extra $.50 and double meat for $ 1.50.

If I could give zero stars I would. The food needed more flavor, the service was sh! t. We ordered chicken and shrimp special. And were charged for chicken only. Told the rude ass person cooking that the order was wrong, and he went back and said that I’d have to take that up with the cashier. Wow, rude. It’s really not worth your money, especially if you notice how much rice they pack up. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Ate there last week before going to a movie. Food and service was good. Had there«special» Chick Teriyaki and stir fried veggies and rice dinner. Nothing out of the ordinary, Portions are large. You don’t need to order their double order of meat, unless more than 2 people are sharing the meal. Prices are really reasonable, and there is usually a line of people. Everything is made fresh. Located in the food court on the second floor at South center mall

The line here always has people in it(which is why I decided to try it) but I don’t know why.. I ate here and had the salmon and Maki sushi. And the chicken teriya teriyaki with fried rice and veges. There is also a person usually giving out free samples to try.. So your free to try a bite.. But it’s nothing. To «wow» about. Everything was extremely mediocre.. Nothing memorable. It was decent amount of food and was OK.. Nothing more than a 3 star rating. The salmon and Maki sushi was good but it was tiny.. Not worth the 9 $ paid for it. Of all the choices in the mall I don’t really see myself getting that again.. Not impressive whatsoever.. Rather spend my money else where. . Decent food at best.. Just OK

There’s always a line of at least 4 people at any given time. For $ 5.79 you get a good portion of rice, steamed veggies, and their famous chicken teriyaki. All made complete with siracha sauce! I usually go for the low carb option of steamed veggies and chicken. The chicken is cooked perfectly slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside soaking up the yummy teriyaki sauce! Not bad for food at the mall.

Free samples and coupons usually draw me in even though the food here is rather oily since I feel like it has more of a Chinese flavoring for a Japanese fast-food teriyaki place. Quantities are HUGE which I like since Bryson and I end up ordering 1 plate and sharing it!
