Hair Strand and Company

I actually started going to Charlene when I was a kid and when I got older I ventured out and found someone new because I had moved out of the area and just felt like I needed to test the waters. Well, I never found anyone that I loved or that truly understood my hair. My hair very fine but I have a LOT of it! Which means it doesn’t curl and cutting layers into my hair often makes it look really thin. So, years later — I was back in the area and needed help getting some purple color out of my hair. My mom, who has been seeing Charlene this entire time, just told me to go see her! I did and not only did I get to catch up with her, but she stripped that purple out, gave me a perfectly toned ombré, and reminded me what it was to have my hair cut by someone who truly understands it’s texture.
Charlene is fantastic and ALWAYS has a smile on her face. I am so glad that I went back to my roots. ;)

Charlene did a great job. I just moved here and she was super accommodating to my last minute request. I got a much needed cut and dye and I feel amazing. She listened to what I wanted and picked out a great color for me. She was able to make my thick Asian hair flat iron straight… something is haven’t been able to accomplish with my past cuts. Thank you Charlene! I’ll see you in 6 weeks

Charlene is amazing! She listened to exactly what I wanted and then proceeded to cut and style my hair perfectly! Now my hair looks so much healthier and feels great!

Monica is wonderful — she has rescued my hair more times than I can count. She is a wizard with colour — always looks great and feels soft and healthy when I leave. My cut and colour always look great, she’s patient and fun to talk to when I get stuck in a 2 or three hour colour correction (I’ve done some awful stuff to my hair). Definitely recommend!!!

Charlene did a great job with my crazy unruly hair! At other places I usually get my hair cut & colored then leave upset and tell myself I’ll fix it when I get home. Not here! Charlene was very patient, understood exactly what I wanted and could do with my hair and did exactly what she said she would do. I walked out loving my cut and color and will definately be back. They’re a little hard to see from the street but keep busy due to word of mouth which speaks for itself. Lots of free parking and close to Southcenter is a plus. Thanks Charlene!
