Bayou Grill

I’ve been a fan of theirs since before they moved to this location a few years or so ago. And over that time, the quality of their food hasn’t decreased in the least bit. Even though their fare is dubbed «mall food» I’d say they outshine many of the Chinese restaurants I’ve visited including a certain chain that I’ll just call P. Express. With their delicious food and friendly manner, Bayou Grill has long since won me over as a customer. As a side-​note, their prices are beyond reasonable.

Best spot for asian food in the court. Cheap, tasty and they’ll definitely fill you up!

you ever wonder if the stuff you ate as a kid that you know should have been terrible actually was? I was wandering through the food court at southcenter and got waved down by the lady behind the counter at bayou grill, offering me a bourbon chicken sample. I used to love that stuff in college, but I was skeptical.
it actually was pretty good, at least for food court fare. the blackened chicken sample was tasty too. I ended up with a #1 combo with noodles and steamed veggies. amazingly, I didn’t regret my decision. turns out maybe my taste wasn’t completely terrible fifteen years ago after all? maybe I should go back and give aqua’s «aquarium» another try too?
no, I’ll quit while I’m ahead.

So I was in South center mall today and decided to try this place! The meats were very good and I enjoyed the portions given. My favorite was the Tropical Chicken. They were very friendly with samples which helped me to decide that I was going to eat there. I will be back when the mood hits me.

This place is great! Fast service and amazing freshly cooked potato chips! Their 1 meat meal is about $ 6 after tax and is worth the cost! They let you try all the dish first before they put it on your plate. This place need to be recognize more and a lot of people are missing out! Also leave you feeling great after eating! Not that greasy feeling taste on your mouth. I rather 4 star because some of the food that they serve sits at the counter too long. I had come back here after several days of trying it and ordered the broccoli beef. It was not fresh folks… That was the only downside. Other than that, a great place to eat while you shop!

The Southcenter mall (I forget the new name for it) doesn’t have many good food choices, in my humble opinion. I was pleasantly surprised at this place when I first tried it, it has now become our family favorite. Their meat is pretty lean and good quality. I wish they didn’t use so much sauce, but that’s probably just me, I would rather have plain chicken. I get the bourbon chicken, it’s a little sweet, but probably the most mild. My husband gets the blackened, which has a tiny kick to it. And my daughter varies. I like that they do ½ orders for about $ 3, which is more than enough food for my daughter. It comes with rice (sticky or fried) and meat, which are both pretty good portions. The meals come with a starch (rice or chips I believe) and a veggie (corn or salad?) and meat. Good portions, good food.

Okay the last three times I have been here, they haven’t had a good amount of crawfish for the crawfish ettouffe that I always order. So thats is why I am lowering the rating. =(Very sad. And I love it too! But I dont think I will be going here that often anymore… The potato chips are still awesome but now all I get with the ettouffe is lots of onions, bell peppers and about 6 – 7 pieces of tiny crawfish =(((((

Their tropical chicken is the bomb diggity. Beware orange chicken, a chosen meat has come to replace you… Oh yeah and prices are good!
