Updating my review, came here early in the morning threw the drive threw, ordered a single cheese quesidilla, I didn’t think of timing this transaction, but when I started to because it was taking to long it took a total of 22 minutes, mind you this was at 4:30 in the morning. Worse place ever, only reason I visit is because it’s 24⁄7 and close to my house Had to edit this review, the service is solo bad I forgot to review the food, it bad, Martha Stewart before she got locked up would make better Mexican food, absolutely no flavor, go somewhere else

This place just can’t get it right. Last time, 2 of 3 items we ordered were not even the right item. The meat and beans are dry. Burritos are small. Last 2 times I got a breakfast burrito, they had a teaspoon of bacon at most. I’m done giving them chances. Oh, and also the last time I went the salsa tasted like dirt.

Went in for breakfast today and I was very disappointed!!! I had a breakfast burrito which was mainly made out of potatoes. I couldn’t taste the chorizo or eggs due to how much potatoes my burrito had. If you are looking for a potato burrito, for all means go have breakfast there. I will not be going there ever again!

First time here and it was extremely enjoyable. My boyfriend ordered a carne asada burrito and it was plenty. He was full off of one burrito, and that never happens! I ordered the chicken torta and it was delicious. Also very large, I was only able to eat half of it. We didn’t mind that it was somewhat empty in there. Cashier and cook were friendly! Check it out :)

If you like potatoes, then you’ll love this place because that’s all you’ll get in their breakfast burritos. Such a pitiful choice I made to bring in for my coworkers. One they left the meat completely out. Stick with what you know and it’s not this place!

I would give a zero if I could. My wife picked up two burritos and two tacos tonight. Burritos were very dry and tacos tiny. The meat had almost no flavor without salsa on it. Plus the service is terrible. Go to Nico’s instead of wasting money here, I know we will be.

Anyone with the expectations that you will be eating authentic Mexican food are sure to be let down. Whether they admit it or not, this is just a place to grab a bite of Mexican American food. That said, when compared to other Tucson local fast food such as Les Betos and Nicos, this one falls below their standards. The refried beans tasted like they came right of a can, and the tortilla could have easily been mistaken for a cheap one bought at a grocery store. It was bland and had no flavor. While the burritos are at least edible, I know I could buy a can of beans and tortilla from the store and make a better one myself. I don’t see the terrible service as was found by other reviewers, but then again I rarely eat at a time where they deal with a lot of customers. I won’t make an effort to eat at Viva and will only do so if there is completely no other option. Even though it is cheaper than Los Betos and Nicos, it is nowhere near as good as either of them. Sorry, Viva.

Gross. The wait was long even though I was the only one in the drive through. I thought the food would be fresh because of the wait. Nope. And the guy at the window creepily touched my hands as he was handing me my card then food! He reached out so far that his hand brushed mine… twice. My 17 year old son wouldn’t even eat the food. Need I say more?

Just left the Viva Burrito on La Cholla and River and all three of the employees were eating dinner in the lobby. A customer came in and one girl got up to take her order. The other two women were the cooks and both were eating their meal with their gloves on. Once the customer ordered, one woman went in the back and proceeded to make her meal without changing gloves. Yummy!

I’ve been coming to viva burrito since they grand opened. Used to love this place, but it has went downhill in the last couple years. Now it seems like every time I come here the visit is riddled with higher prices, skinny undersized burritos, and morons who work the counter and drive-through. It seems like a lot of younger employees who are cocky because they are left alone to run this restaurant by themselves. Not a very good business plan if you ask me. This place needs an actual manager who knows what is going on and how to treat customers. I wish they would get their sh/t together this place used to be awesome…

So I came here for lunch on my break from work and I just wanted a pollo asado burrito plate(with rice, beans, etc.). The girl at the register wasn’t much help at all, and the meal ended up being, meh. I ordered it to eat there and it came on a little Styrofoam plate — the beans and rice were edible, but that’s about it. The burrito was decent at best. It’s a nice, clean store, but doesn’t really have enough quality or character to bring me back.

Located on the northeast corner of River and La Cholla is this cheap 24 hour Mexican restaurant. You pretty much get what you pay for; the food is small portioned and not a lot of flavor but really can’t complain too much seeing that each burrito is no more than $ 3.50. The place seems like a ghost town, every time I/we hit this joint up its super dead — in and out within minutes. The cashier has always been friendly. The food itself is mediocre(neither the greatest nor the worst). FYI — Only good at 3AM after a few drinks. ^_^

Not to go against the rest of the reviewers who only gave one star, but I really have had worse and I’ll save a one-star review for those places. That said, this place isn’t exactly amazing. To me, they sort of fall somewhere between Taco Bell(which is across the street, BTW) and Filibertos. The food is not portioned to match the prices(too little for too much money) and the sauces taste like someone opened a can of Rosaritas enchilada sauce and dumped it over everything. The rest of the food – a burrito is what I got – was bland. I didn’t mind since at 1am after driving around, nothing else was open. We did wind up spending nearly 20 minutes from start to finish in the drive-thru. The girl working the window wasn’t exactly fluent in English so there was a misunderstanding as to what we’d actually ordered and we had to wait on a refund for being overcharged for something. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but I doubt we’ll ever be back.

Had too much wine Sunday night! Rolled outta bed at 930 with a craving for a Tucson classic… A breakfast burritos dripping in grease from one of the many, fast-sonoran, places. I choose viva only to be shocked by the quality, size and price. Not what I remember when I pulled this move at u of a. Im chocking it up to this company, based on thier Unilocal.I can’t handle the idea of not being able to satisfy this craving Tucson-style. Later viva, I’m sticking with ol’ trusty Nicos! Never should of strayed!

Well it was already a pain in the ass to put up with the slow service and clueless retards working there, but after going this past week I guess I’ll be going back to Nico’s and any of the other 20 burrito places here. They’ve recently raised their prices by about a buck an item, and at the same time cut the portions. Got a breakfast burrito that was about the size of a Taco Bell burrito for twice the price. So long Viva Burrito, it was fun while it lasted.

Food isn’t bad, what there is of it. I’ve Gone to two Viva locations lately and THINKING that since Burrito is in their name, that would be their speciality. It’s not bad, but none of the burritos I’ve purchased there had as much contents as even Taco Bell. Two locations, twice the same result. A big old tortilla with a smattering of the ordered contents inside. SLOW, understaffed, and badly managed. Half the staff is clueless, walking in circles not really accomplishing anything other than taking up space. On this stop, got three burritos, all very different contents, all put in one bag, and NONEOFTHEMMARKED! Had to take them all apart once I got home and figure out whose was whose. And of course, all of them pretty unremarkable. In Tucson, a BURRITO should be stuffed large and be great. If you can’t manage that, then get out of the business and let someone good use the space. All the«x”-bertos choices in town are 200% better than this. There’s WAYWAYWAY too many really great Mexican choices in this city to waste your time and more importantly, your money on this place, or any Viva location from what I can tell personally.

My fellow Americans! Pay attention and heed my warning! This place is a freakin cesspool! I went there to get a breakfast burrito and found a thick, long black hair in my burrito! Alicia B. knows all about what goes on down at Viva Burrito, so be sure to read her review as well. I wish I saw her review before eating lunch there. First of all, the service is terrible. It took them about 8 minutes to get me my burrito. There’s also a bunch of cheap, overweight, skanky chicks with all kinds of attitude problems working there too. While waiting for my burrito, I managed to see who was working in the kitchen and caught a glimpse of, what look to be, a ghetto ass dude who looked like he was up to something. Now, being a person who usually gives people the benefit of the doubt, I went ahead and just waited for my burrito. I got home after a long morning of classes and sat down to eat my burrito. First goddam bite and I notice a fat, heavy black hair stringing from my mouth to my burrito! At that moment, I bee lined it to the restroom and vomited like a drunk high school girl on prom night. I’m not even making this shiz up. I just want to get the word out to others who might be thinking of having lunch or breakfast at this place. DONOTGOTHERE! You’ll end up like me with your head in the toilet or at Alicia B’s hospital up the block. I’m pretty sure if I ate the rest of that burrito, I would’ve been laid up in Alicia B’s hospital and taking meds for weeks. I don’t know though, I’m not a psychic. I’m just a normal dude who wanted lunch. Anyways, stay vigilant people. –Joey Rockafella

Don’t eat here. They may have good food, but their sanitary practices aren’t. My husband ate there 2x getting sick both times. The time I ate there I also got sick. I work at the hospital north of here. After being diagnosed w H priori. A bacteria that lives in your stomach, and treated for it. I found that many other co– workers who have eaten there also got sick. BTW– h priori comes from people working with food & didn’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom, or didn’t correctly wash the food they use. Eewww. Plus its very painful. This place is so not worth 4 weeks on antibiotic meds.
