Nicole provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Had to cancel reservation($ 35 a person), active duty military and had short notice deployment for a member of the party. Charged cancelation fee. Very unprofessional and disrespectful.

Don’t give five stars but this place just continues to impress. First and foremost it’s the service. Over the top professional. We were waited on by Jessica. She has served us before and she does fantastic. Really enjoys working here and she knows the menu. Thank you again for a amazing meal celebrating my wife’s birthday.

Hi! Had a wonderful experience here. Yummy food. Wonderful staff. I told my waiter about a cooking style I enjoyed a few years back that wasn’t on the menu and they looked it up and made it for us. Voodoo style was fantastic! Am so impressed by the customer service. Super fun place for kids too! Will be back

Let’s start by saying this place can get quite expensive if you go there for a 3 or 4 course meal. Add on alcohol and you’re really hitting the wallet hard. But, I will say, the food here is really good. The explanation for first timers is going to take you at least two attempts. First, the hostess will try to explain. The waiter will further explain. Don’t feel bad. It was our first time(group of 3) and we needed both explanations. I’d recommend only coming for happy hours. Basically, you can come and just sit down with someone and just do one dessert course. Or do one appetizer course. A full meal, literally, takes about 3 hours and is expensive. Small-ish portions of meat. You have to do your own cooking –which is part of the fun of the experience! But it can get tedious. Why 4 Stars??? The hostess was somewhat rude. She asked is we had reservations and we did not. Keep in mind, there were only 2 other tables seated at that time. So it isn’t like they were full to capacity. But she made us wait WAY too long and was just rude about getting our contact info(name, phone number, etc., when we were just going to wait right there for a table). She could have been a lot friendlier. But the waiter was amazing.

I’ve been to Melting Pot restaurants in other cities, but this was my first time at this location. They ran a good deal on LivingSocial, so my husband and I made our way here to try it out. We were here on a weeknight, and we were able to walk right in and be seated immediately. It seems like reservations would be a good idea for weekends and holidays. The atmosphere is great. The lights are low and there are partitions around the tables, making the setting romantic and private. They were playing jazz and Spanish guitar over the speakers, which was nice and relaxing. The pace of the meal is very leisurely, so there’s plenty of time to sit, talk, and enjoy. We had the fiesta cheese fondue, the spinach Apple salad, and the duck breast and sirloin steak entrees. Everything was delicious. The server makes the cheese fondue table side, which is fun. The fiesta cheese fondue has jalapeños, and he even asked us how spicy we wanted it.(Very spicy!) The salad was just the right size and was made well. The entrees were delicious as always. I’m always impressed with how nicely they’re able to present the plate of raw meat! I liked the teriyaki dipping sauce quite a bit, and the Greek goddess is fantastic. Sadly we didn’t have any room for dessert at the end! The only downside to this place is the cost. It’s a great place for a special occasion or a date, but it’s a little pricey to eat at frequently. However, you absolutely get what you pay for!

I went there for the first time for the princess night event they had. I was really impressed by the atmosphere of the place and also the food was excellent. The waiter and staff made it such a wonderful experience. There was a slight miscommunication about my order but I spoke to the manager and she was more than willing to look into the matter and compensate me for the order. Overall I was very pleased with the service and food.

We have been to the Melting Pot for many years and usually a few times a year for family occasions. So no complaints on price as we knew what we were getting into but it just seemed the portions on the main fondue was just very light with meats and seafood than in the past. But the failure was purely service and they just need to be much more on top of it. I think they need at least a few floater people to assist the main server when they are busy. Things like extra bread or needed items shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. I don’t think the server should be making a cheese fondue for another table before she brings us the few key items we requested for our current fondue so it took about 10 minutes. Upsetting… Same thing happened with we asked for the check. I am sure we will come back but I hope for a better experience next time.

My husband and I recently celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here, and had an amazing time. As people have noted, this is a pretty pricey place, but you are paying for a quality 4-course meal and a fun eating experience. The Melting Pot team impressed us from the beginning: our hostess was friendly, we were seated almost immediately, and she then proceeded to give us a very professional presentation of the menu. She was able to answer our questions about the food in detail without hesitation, which is pretty rare for a hostess. Our server Salo was also super friendly and engaging, and seemed to know his job to the last detail. We ordered two 4-course meals. My husband got one of the local AZ beers(which he loved) and I ordered one of the wine flights(I loved 3 out of 4 of the wines, and I’m not a regular wine drinker). The food was fun(it is fondue after all) and at times quite delicious, or at the very least, good. Our server Salo prepared each of the fondues right in front of us with just the right touch of showmanship. Very cool. One thing we have to mention is that we did spend almost 2 hours eating dinner here. The courses take a while to come out, but we didn’t mind the wait too much because it let our stomachs make room for the next course. The entrée especially takes a while because you have to cook your choice cuts of meat/seafood in a fondue pot full of boiling bullion, so imagine you’re give 20 pieces, each of which need anywhere from 1 minute to 7 minutes to cook, using only 2 fondue forks… It takes a while. But we think it was worth it. Especially the chocolate fondue. Oh my God, I wish we’d left more room for the chocolate. On top of a fantastic experience, we were gifted two glasses of champagne with cherries inside as an anniversary gift. We were very touched by the thoughtful gift.

This is a great«date restaurant». The atmosphere is intimate and you and your date share a fondue pot. There’s a selection of cheese fondue for appetizers, a salad course, the main course(which is a choice of meats and/or vegetables cooked in a broth in the pot with an array of sauces), and dessert fondue. They have a good wine list and lots of signature cocktails. The fact that you have to wait while the main course means there’s never a rush. There’s plenty of time to converse. The food is great — although the cheese and chocolate courses are my favorite, everything is delicious. Full disclosure: I have a long history with this place. I found out about it from my dad — he’d tell his date that he was going to «cook» for her and then take her here. My now-wife and I had our first romantic dinner at a Melting Pot and I proposed at a melting pot. We came here for our anniversary(the first time at this location) and the staff all signed a card for us. If you have a big date coming up, this is definitely a great place to do it. One warning — it is pricey(around $ 45 per person for all four courses and no drinks). But you’ll have a great time.

I came here with my boyfriend and his mom to celebrate his birthday. It was my first time and I just have to say I was really impressed! our server, I believe his name was Edward, was super nice and didn’t seem to be bothered by all of my questions(it being my first time I had alot) my drinks were amazing(turns out he was the bartender too) yes it is a little pricey, not somewhere I would go «just cause» but I will definitely be back.(:

I’ve been a fan of the melting pot since I lived in Denver and frequented the one there. Combining tasty food with a dining«experience» makes the melting pot a good choice for special occasions, especially for groups. Cozy booths and a long dining experience, combined with a pretty fool-proof menu makes it an easy concept to sell. That being said, you can easily spend here the same kind of money you would spend at Vivace or Flemings or anyone of a half-dozen of Tucson’s finest. Comparing dollars to quality of the food and service, the Melting Pot is a step behind its similarly priced peers. The biggest weakness at the Tucson location — and I bet I’ve been there a dozen times in the last two years — is service. I don’t know if it is chronically understaffed or just hire folks who don’t bring a sense of high-caliber commitment to customer satisfaction. You can bet you’ll wait over an empty water glass, or hoping to be able to order a bottle of wine every. single. time. It starts when you walk in the door. We always have a reservation and we always arrive on time yet we always have to sit down and wait for our table to be set up. Always. My last visit had me decided that it might be time to make my melting pot dinners fewer and farther between. I just don’t understand why they can’t quite take the final step to make this place match its price point.

After seeing all the negative reviews I understand as a customer at other restaurants how sometimes places are a real letdown, however I LOVE this place! I started coming for the $ 5 cheese and $ 5 chocolate in the bar but because of how amazing our service and food always is, I have come back 2 times recently with family and have had a bill total of over $ 100 each time. SOWORTHIT! The meats are not something I would seek out just because I’m not to much of a carnivore(i am a total carbsavor haha) but even the two times we have gotten the 4 course it was amazing. Even the meat. As far as the cheese and chocolate goes… holy amazingness. The sides are always fresh, the servers always make great conversation while they make your food and answer all our questions. My friends and I always stop in at least one a week about an hour before they close because our restaurant closes an hour before. As a restaurant worker I get how annoying It is to have people come in so late but everyone here is always so chill and understanding! Plus now I’m 21 and they make amazing drinks! The love martini and the amaretto nightcap are a personal weakness! Long story short I love this place and will always come back!

Never ever have I EVER been as sick after eating restaurant food before. This place is gross. The service is mediocre and the ingredients are not premium. I spent the entire night and most of today dealing with the aftermath. Never ever going here again.

So I’ve been coming to the Melting Pot since it opened and sadly it has gone nothing but downhill since. Prices have gone up, quality has stayed the same, offerings have decreased, and service has declined. Last night, we ordered 2 four course meals and 2 kids meals. We ordered a total of 3 fondues(2 for my wife and I to share and 1 for the kids). Now I understand that you are supposed to only get 1 serving each of bread, apples and veggies, but they boast that this is bottomless and that they will refill this as it runs out. Our server did not refill these when they ran out, so the fondue crusted over sitting there while we were waiting for more dipping options. In fact, my only complaint last night was about the service. Tyler was overwhelmed with a large party and didn’t have time to give appropriate service(even what you might consider appropriate for an Applebees). He brought my extra dressing when I was finished with my salad. He brought refills about 20 minutes too late. He never brought our«search and rescue» spoon, or our extra veggies, or our extra bread/apples, even after we asked him for those — they were all brought after somebody else was sent to check on our table and we requested it from them. What was most frustrating is the he forgot to turn our hotplates up, so we did it ourselves — when he came to check on us, he turned them back down and we had to explain to him that he never turned them up to begin with so please turn them back up because, by this point, our food was sitting there for about 10 minutes before we could even cook it! Upon telling Pat, the GM, about our experience, he explained how it was a poor management decision to have Tyler so overwhelmed by a large party and also receive extra tables. He also said that it was his own fault for not coming to our table because Tyler asked him to come by our table and he went to the wrong one accidentally. For the prices that they demand, the manager should ask EACH and EVERY table how they are, and there should be NO excuse to not receive extra dressing or extra sides. It seems to me that nobody here really has been trained in the art of service, which includes anticipating, «touching» each table, timing, and not making poor management decisions that result in botched meals that you later have to comp. Pat was gracious enough to give us a 50% discount, which was fair because that is what the meal is worth in a charming setting without any service in my opinion. Next time I will avoid the bad service and go straight to the supermarket and cook the same dinner at home for even less.

We celebrated our two year anniversary at the melting pot last night. I called make a reservation and a girl with what seemed like no personality took my information but cut me off in mid sentence asking me to hold because the other line was ringing. It rang one time and she couldn’t even let me finish my sentance. Ok no big deal. I told her we were there to celebrate our anniversary just to give her a heads up that we were coming for a special evening. Our reservation time comes around and we arrive promptly. We check in with the hostess(the same one that took my reservation. I could tell it was her because of her lack of enthusiasm) and she finds our res and then asks if we are celebrating anything. I tell her again that it’s our anniversary and she then shows us to a table. We had a nice little corner booth for two. It’s was definitely romantic and private if you don’t count the fact that we were facing the service and bathroom hallway. It was fairly slow for a Monday don’t you think we could have gotten a better table? I do, there were better ones available. So she says our server Michelle will be right with us. About 4 min later a guy comes by and says that our server is busy and asks us if we’d like a drink. We ordered our drinks and then he comes back about 5 min later saying they could make one because they were out of chambord. No big deal and we order a different drink. Another 5 min later the same guy comes by and re confirms the drinks we’ve ordered. Several min later our drinks arrive. They were good. Our server Michelle was nice and attentive. She also asked us if we were celebrating anything. We told her it was our anniversary and she congratulated us. Through out meal Michelle was there to give us the rundown on how to enjoy each course but I felt she could have gone more into depth on what was going into the dishes and how to do it but I guess she gave us enough info for us to get through the night. All in all the food was quite good. We both had the 4 course meal. The cheese course was by far the best! What can go wrong dipping things in melted cheese? Yum! The salads were salads, also very good. We tried to mojo broth for our entrée. It was good but just not what we liked. Just a personal preferance. We ordered the white chocolate crème brule for dessert and it was awesome. We were just so full we couldn’t eat a lot of it. We should have taken the rest home but we didnt :( During our dining expirience the hostess came back over and asked to take our picture for their Facebook page, we agreed and posed nicely with big«in love» smiles. Unfortunately our picture never made it on their Facebook page. I guess we weren’t pretty enough? Lol, whatever. Eventually the manager made it over to check on our meals. He gave us a card to find our pic on their Facebook page. Once again, never made it to the page. We also mentioned to him that things were good but the mojito that my girlfriend ordered was way too sweet. He offered to comp it for us but we declined and instead asked if he’d bring us a lime to kind of cut the sweetness a little. Maybe he didn’t understand what I was asking for but he never returned with a lime nor did he comp the drink. He did ask if we were celebrating anything special, we told him it was our anniversary and he congratulated us like everyone else. I guess the don’t communicate with each other because we had now announced it four times. Oh well. Two hours, three drinks and 2 four course meals later and we were stuffed. Luckily, so we’re our wallets as we left spending 140 including a generous tip that our server deserved. I don’t know if I’d ever go back and if I did I would not get the mojo boullion but at least I have had the Melting Pot expirience. Wish we could a made it to the Facebook base tho…

Tried The Melting Pot for the first time with my girlfriend last weekend. We had a groupon for 2 that included cheese and dessert fondues. We really enjoyed the meal, the drinks, and the service. When we arrived, we were the only customers in our section, so our server spent plenty of time making sure we were comfortable. We decided on the classic Swiss fondue for the cheese course, which was delicious. For dessert we substituted dark chocolate into the Turtle fondue. It was pretty amazing, too, but using fondue forks or marshmallows to get the caramel-coated nuts from the bottom of the pot was basically impossible. Just a comment for anyone thinking of the desserts with nuts… Before dinner I had been worried that the portions would be too small. Eating fondue can be little more than an appetizer sometimes. I’m glad to report that we left the restaurant feeling quite full! I was still skeptical when the cheese course was served — the dish of vegetables looked tiny — but cheese adds up quickly in the stomach. The amount of cheese in the pot was almost perfect for the amount of dipping foods, too. The only thing I’ll complain about is the drinks menu, and my complaint is minor. There are plenty of options, and the drinks we ordered were creative and delicious, but it seems like almost every single cocktail is on the sweeter side. If I order a drink there again I’ll probably ask the bartender to make me something with less sugar.

The Melting Pot was such a fun place to go to! I went to have a girl’s night out. Once a month they have a Ladies Night Out special. They have raffles and offer free spa services which consisted of hand massages, hair curling/straightening, and a nail manicure. The manicurist and the hair stylist did a great job especially since it was free! The three course meal(appetizer:cheese fondue with bread and vegetables, main entrée: chicken, steak and vegetables/potatoes, and chocolate fondue with fruits) was a great value for how much food we received. Of course my favorite part of the meal is the dessert. Chocolate Fondue with brownies, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, rice crispies, and pound cake. I really like the bananas with chocolate. Although practically anything with chocolate gets my vote. You just can’t wrong with chocolate? There was so much food, we were stuffed after the entrée, we were grateful to be able to take a break and get a manicure while we digested our food in prep for the dessert. Our server was extremely nice, never rushed us, and the manager kept coming over to make sure our night was amazing! I even won the raffle for dessert for two for the next time I come back.

Some friends of mine convinced me to give the Melting Pot a try. This is an expensive experience. I say experience because it truly is and I received ten times more food than what I eat in a meal. The drinks are good, staff is friendly and the food is great! I loved the cheese fondue course is the best. You can get a four course meal to experience everything: cheese, a salad, meat/main, and dessert. I don’t think i can say because of the price that i will be back again but i may stop in for a bite of dessert or cheese sometime. Easy, fun, and yummy!
