Went to him for years. He is not a very good Dr. Complained about shoulder pain. His only suggestion to change my exercise routine. Later I found out I had a torn rotator and a torn bicep. The orthopedic surgeon said you should have come to me years sooner and your out come from this surgery would have been better. Not very competent Dr. would never recommend him to anyone. He even conducts annual physicals with out having patients disrobe and checking for anything. How can you do a physical just by looking at a patient. If you want quality medical care don’t see him. I know he is not a orthopedic surgeon, but when medical conditions are beyond your scope of practice. A good Doctor would refer you to a specialist. He didn’t even do that.

I happen to have worked at the lab in the same building as Dr. Vig… I decided to do my own informal process to decide on which Dr. to go with by interviewing the patients. I would take note of the Dr’ name and asked the patient how they felt about their Dr… OVERWHELMINGLY Dr. Vig’s patients used the word«Love» to describe him. based upon this response I decided to go with him… I have been seeing the good Dr. for about 6 years now and I can honestly say I LOVEDRVIG.

I can’t really speak on the other reviews except to say, Dr. Vig specializes in internal/family medicine… not orthopaedics etc., so to place the blame on him for not diagnosing a torn rotator cuff and torn bicep… utter nonsense. Simple internet search will show you that what he recommended, is in fact inline with the treatment of such an injury. Secondly, surgeons… well, they make they’re money from surgery. So of course they’re going to want you to come to them first.(How many surgeons make money from needless surgeries?) So, don’t blame Steven Vig for the arrogance of your surgeon. And unless V S. is also a physician, I’d try to stay away from playing armchair physician. Not every Dr. is perfect for every patient. It takes time to find that Dr. that makes you feel at ease, and to find that Dr. that does in fact listen to you, and give you a proper treatment plan. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Vig’s for many years now, and have been more than satisfied, and would continue to recommend him to others… actually, that’s difficult to do, because it increases his patient load, and in turn makes it more difficult to get in right away.

If you want a doctor who’s MD stands for Mediocre Doctor, Medical Disaster or Missed Diagnoses then Vig is your guy. He will treat your symptoms, without finding the cause, by piling on the prescriptions. Meanwhile you might have a serious condition that will go undetected until it is too late.
