Smashburger

I stopped by today for a quick sandwich. When several people who ordered after me had received their food I asked the runner to check on my order. About 5 minutes later as she was walking by she said it would be «right out». 5 minutes later I went to the counter and nobody knew anything about my order and it wasn’t in the prep queue. Obviously the runner had just been placating me and had not bothered to actually check on the order. 7 minutes later it finally came. It was an OK chicken sandwich, but not worth a 25+ minute wait. Try somewhere else unless you have LOTS of time at lunch.

Not a fan but that’s just me. I’m a traditional burger kind of gal and I could have gotten the same basic cheeseburger and fries down the street at In N Out for half the price and the convenience of a drive through. But if you like to pile the stuff on, you will probably love this place. I will say the meat quality was very good.

It was really good. I had a chicken burger with smash fries and green tea. This is not your average burger place which is what I liked about it. The staff is friendly and answer all your questions with no problems. My favorite part was the smash fries with rosemary and garlic. Delicious!

Stopped by for a 1^st time EVER visit with my cuz’n on Easter and I gotta tell you this place blows In-​N-​Out outta the water for sure, let alone the service!!! I’ll be back and recommend for sure

When I am at home, my idea of a great burger — the epitome of success — is to craft a burger so good that it easily stands alone, without sauce or seasoning or condiments. This is how I feel about the essential burger that is at the heart of a Smash Burger — a patty of outstanding flavor and texture that it stands on its own. Also outstanding: a chocolate malt shake, or the veggie frites. Service has been quite fast, given the individual nature of each order. It is also the only restaurant I’ve seen that has an herbal ice tea — lightly sweetened and quite refreshing. Interior is basic burger joint — very little character or ambiance (as in, none whatsoever). After your meal, you’ll want to move on … unless, of course, you decide to order another burger. It’s that good!

Always stop here for dinner when my kid plays at Refkins! The best place for dinner on the go after a long day of tennis. Friendly staff and can’t go wrong with the smash fries!

Even though the food tasted pretty good, unfortunately, the lobby was very dirty! Floors were filthy & every other table had trash on it!
Cashier Marky was pretty friendly. And the temp inside was pretty decent, once you get used to it.

This is a fast food place. So this review shall be fast! What can you say. Staff is friendly. Got the grilled chicken sandwich with spinach and feta to go. Not bad! You cannot find that combo at too many fast food places. Clean and simple. They did put napkins in the bag! Yay! There is ample seating if you eat in. Beverage station. They do offer some kind of reward for a free side or something on your next visit. I did not check it out. Full fast food menu and other beverages as well.

Absolutely great service! The employees always have a smile on their face and are very passionate about the food there. Had a very enjoyable experience and loved the food. I definitely recommend the buffalo fries with the BBQ bacon burger because it is the the perfect combo.

Been here several times. The food is excellent, service is excellent. Very clean. Great service! This is one of those Fast Casual Burger Chains, SO yeah you will pay a few bucks more but well worth it. Quality beef, great milkshakes. Very impressed. Has a nice window counter with view of Reid Park across the street what else can I say.

Great experience at Smashburger today! Came with the whole family and let me tell you, our orders can get pretty complicated especially with how picky we all are. But we were lucky to get such an amazing host who made our experience beyond perfect! Amy, our host, was patient with us, helped us out with recommendations on what we should get, and was very sweet and responsive. She was there literally in a second whenever we needed something. My family and I felt like very valued customers due to the service Amy provided. Thank you Amy!
Oh and the food was amazing as well so props to the cook!

A good place to get a burger and fries. The only down side for me the fries are little too salty. Also, there shakes are pretty good, made with just milk and ice cream — no surup.

Smashburger reminds me of my favorite burger place called Winsteads back home. A little pricey but very good. The reason for 4 stars is because they waste so much paper. Not only did they use a huge bag to put 3 burgers in but they also placed each burger in a smaller bag as well. So basically a small tree to bag my food.

I usually love the smashed fries from this place… but the last two times that we have gone to Smashburgers… the fries were eh… what is going on? lol (this was from 2 different locations though)
The service was pretty fast… but is that why my fries were stale?
The mushroom swiss. is always good tho… especially that first bite… mhmmm that truffle mushroom taste is so yummy!

I combined the swiss mushroom and goat cheese burger — FANTASTIC! Excellent service and delicious! I also love In N Out burgers and I think (gasp) these might be better!!! Juicy, fresh and quick service!

The general manager, Daniel, is amazing! He’s super friendly, kind, and cares about the customers. Not only is he awesome but every employee is very friendly and always smiling. He’s definitely doing something right. The food is also very tasty and always hot. Get the Sin City burger if you can. It’s limited time only. Their shakes are also so YUMMY! Lastly (there’s just so many good options), their haystack onions and smashfries are delicious.

Smashburger hasn’t gotten upset with us when we bring games into the restaurant to play with our food. Play while consuming their food. You know what I mean. That’s a star. I wouldn’t try it everywhere, but it’s nice with a casual dining atmosphere that they encourage you to stay. The better to then order a milkshake, I say.
The shakes are yummy. And generously portioned.
Strangely enough, the veggie frites were a big push for me to review. They’re not complex, now — it’s carrot and thin green beans flash fried with salt and pepper — but they’re hot and they were fresh and it was good. The regular fries are skinny shoe string affairs, which is a texture of which I’m fond.
I get the same thing each time I go but it’s really because I just love avocado. Nothing on the menu sounds bad and the specials that pop up from time to time have been seriously tempting.
For an affordable hot, fresh basket with a bun inside, I’m grateful for Smashburger. And hey — Tucson does love its burgers.

Good meal. Rosemary fries are awesome. Discount for uniformed members. Would recommend any burger with avocado topping. Expect the burger to be smaller than weight indicates.

Do you wanna know what, I actually like this fast food restaurant. I am not a fan of burgers and fries, especially fast food, but Smashburger is a notch above. I particularly like the black bean veggie burger. You can also add/​subtract any additional toppings and really customize your burger (ie. add spinach instead of lettuce etc). It’s inexpensive, quick and right down the street from work, so I am sure I will be back.

The staff here is always awesome, quick service, good burgers, and a clean restaurant. By the way, they do serve beer! Smash is one of our neighborhood go-​tos when we’re hungry and the fridge is empty.

The juicy avocado burger and Rosemary fries never disappoints!
That’s my usual. And they have hogen doz ice cream/​shakes to go with the mega caloric intake.
The avocado burger is perfect with griller onions. Must have.

Had the truffle mushroom burger today. Quite good, except like my first visit, it was too salty as it wore on. Next time, I’m going to experiment and ask to go light on the salt or not add any at all and see what that does.
Also had the veggie frites. Those were really good. They are string beans and carrot sticks, flash fried. The carrots turn out sweet. Loved the beans.
The shakes, as always, are deliciously smooth. My Hāagen Daz strawberry shake could be immediately sucked through the straw without having an exercise in internal compression. I also like how they bring out the extra in the metal container.

This was a pretty solid burger.
The toppings were all very real– the bacon didn’t just look like a bacon-​themed strip of wax paper. Sautéed mushrooms tasted like homemade.
The «smashing» method of cooking the burger resulted in satisfyingly crispy edges, but a somewhat bland, cooked-​ground-​beef tasting interior. (But since the baseline price of a burger is only like 4.99, I don’t expect a one inch thick, medium rare patty.)
The side of shoestring onions (or whatever they called them) was delicious, and a nice break from the norm of either no onion sides, Sysco frozen onion rings, or beer-​battered raw steaks of onion that call themselves onion rings. I’m eager to try their unique-​sounding fries next time.
They also offer shakes (with the extra in a malt cup on the side, yay) and some bottled beer and wine.
I will definitely be back to try out more of their menu.

I love that you can create your own burger! Never been to a Smashburger before so I thought that was cool. I love the décor, plain but trendy lighting and lots of space. The staff was SUPER friendly and was willing to make you feel very welcome. There was a little mix up with our order, but they were very accommodating and fixed it right away, and even offered to refill our drinks for us.
I ordered a BBQ bacon cheddar burger on a chipotle bun. I decided to go with the ½ lb patty instead of the ¼ lb just cause I could.lol. The burger was delish! The meat was cooked just right and just enough for me to finish. (Gourmet burgers are sometimes to big for me to even finish half!) The chipotle bun was a good choice and gave my burger that added boost of flavor too. I also ordered a side of onion rings. Their rings are thinly cut, and I thought were amazing! The seasoned fries were yummy too! Smashburger fries are unique in its own way, very flavorful cause they’re tossed in rosemary, olive oil & garlic. Yum! I also had a sample of a strawberry shake… Scrumptious!
All in all, I’d definitely come back to try the other types of burgers and explore more burger creations!
Added tip: Parking in the front of the restaurant is very tight and limited, I’d recommend that you park in the back. There is a door to enter the restaurant from the back. =)
