The first time tried it, it was okay. I ordered the California gulch with wheat bread but they delivered it on WHITEBREAD. Right now, I ordered the chilli WITHWHITEBREAD and the Steam engine… They’re both SUPPOSED to be hot/warm, my food arrived room temperature cold and no bread with my chilli. I’m pissed because it took a WHOLEHOUR. After I called back they said, there’s nothing that they could do. Like really???

Clean and comfortable. I got the cheese and broccoli soup and it tasted like nacho cheese.

I am updating my previous review, which critiqued the wait time on subs. Usually, they tell you that an order will take 40 minutes to arrive, and in the past it has taken that or much longer. Today, I ordered a sub at 11:22, which is right around the UA lunch rush. My sub was delivered, even walked up to my GTA office, at 11:35. Wow! Super fast! Wait times have been getting better and better, but today I was so pleased I just have to give this place 5 stars. The online ordering system has also made it so that they’ve been better about paying attention to what toppings(like mayo) I don’t want on my sub and what things(like avocado) I would like to add – for a very reasonable fee. Thanks Silver Mine for returning to your reliable old self.

Been there a couple times and got the Dodge City Sub(cold sandwich), the sandwich is delicious, they have reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Let me please give this joint an up to date review. Rip offs, bad orders, and rotten food. Need I say more?

This has got to be the worst sandwich in Tucson. I never do reviews but this occasion has finally merited one.

I worked graveyards for awhile in the midtown area and Silver Mine was a mainstay of my diet. I like them a lot. There is a large assortment of what you can get at this place, even in the middle of the night. Great sandwiches, soup, salad, wraps, cookies, chips, etc. I’ve had about it all. I’m happy to see other reviewers echoing my opinion on the variety that they offer, especially late into the night. My two favorite subs are the Coeur D’Alene(basically roast beef) and the Homesteak(sort of a philly sub). Always come hot and fresh, even at 1am. The chips and cookies are bagged and nothing to write home about but this place is MILES ahead of Subway, I promise you that. Another thing I love is the broccoli cheese soup — which I get all the time. And even if you’re ordering in the middle of the night, delivery time for me was always typically about 25 minutes — superfast for hot sandwiches and soups. I have nothing negative to say about them except that I wish they delivered to Catalina Foothills. Great sub shop, pleasant employees and awesome food for your basic deli-type restaurant. Love it!

I love the variety of sandwiches they have here. I like that they also deliver and they don’t take long on their deliveries which was pretty convenient for me being a college student and being hungry at night. There prices aren’t the best prices ever but I was able to get a discount for being a Tapingo Club Member which helped a lot because I bought each sandwich for about $ 3 each which I am happy about. Overall their sandwiches are good and I do recommend eating or ordering from here if you do want a sandwich that is good.

I recently ordered from silver mine subs and it took my sandwich about an hour to get here. When it did arrive it was the wrong sandwich and the wrong bag of chips. I called and they offered to bring me another sandwich. When that sandwich arrived that was supposed to be hot it was cold and had missing ingredients and some added. The sandwich I ordered was supposed to have ranch on it and had mayo instead and didn’t have the blue cheese added to it that I had requested. I was not refunded or given a discount. There was also a disgusting amount of mayo on half of the sandwich and almost none on the other. It was something that was made with a serious lack of tact and care. I think the fellow who made it didn’t know the menu or something. Won’t be returning.

Place is pretty ghetto — sandwiches feel/taste like they are made by a business really looking to cut corners and cut costs. But hey, at least it’s a step up from Suckway.

I really loved the subs here. There was a wide selection to choose from and the broccoli cheese soup tasted amazing. They’re open until 3 am so if you need a late night snack, order online or walk-in. They’re pricey for subs.

Please avoid! Tried it again with delivery no dice! Asked for add turkey on my sandwich for an extra charge, of course didn’t get it. The snotte nosed little driver even had the balls to say that«hey at least the sandwich is wrapped in the foil this time.» Manager said he would give me a free coupon for a large sandwich, just called in and that was a false promise. This place is expensive and it sucks, I feel like this is the DMV of sandwich places

I ordered a Bread Bowl with Chili on Tapingo, and specifically asked for the chili to be in a cup and the bread bowl on the side, so what do I get after waiting an hour and a half starving on a Wednesday night? A nice warm bowl of cheesy broccoli soup. In case you missed it, that’s not what I ordered.

Short walk from the UofA, the Silver Mine Subs I visited was… ok. The bread was fantastic and the meats were good — but the mayo was way too much and the seating was fairly limited. Compared to other sandwich shops, I’m not sure this one can really keep up — but it was serviceable and close to some other stores I was walking towards. Staff was friendly and food came out quick. Overall — good generic fast-food type sub shop.

SHUTTHISPLACEDOWN!!! First and foremost, most of the staff do not value food safety… Ive been there on at least 3 occasions where some bozo handled money, then made a sandwich without gloves… disgusting. Second, the food prep area is disgusting. How many times have i seen pieces of chicken floating around on the counters, floors, and in other meats… how many times have i seen some form of liquids on the counters where they end up making our sandwich on… i actually some them take out a container, filled with pastrami with liquid on the bottom, hold it over the counter, ONTOPOFOTHERPEOPLESSANDWICHES, and some disgusting liquid was going on all of them… it was so sad. Lastly — they do have the best chili ever and the bread is good… but they do not fill their containers, you basically get half of what you pay for. If i can give it place 0 stars, I would. Needs a definite remodel, needs new staff who care about health and our appetites…1 star for good chili(but who knows how they handle it).

Yikes! What’s going on with this place?! I’ve been a regular patron for a few years, usually getting a small sub, chips and a drink. A couple weeks ago I noticed my bill went up, which seemed to be an extra 30 cents for a bag of chips. No biggie, everyone deserves a cost of living increase. Today their menu board has +$ 1.00 signs by several of the sandwiches, including(of course) the one I always order. Why an extra buck regardless of size? That makes no sense! A 30% jump on the chips I’ll take, but an additional almost 25% jump on the sandwich had me heading for the door. Happily enough that area is filled with other places to eat. My favorite(Paradise Bakery), is now both better AND cheaper. Plus, you get a free cookie :-)

Three little words: Chicken bacon ranch(also known as the Frontier sandwich)! This little sandwich shop is right across the Tyndall Garage, and during late hours of cramming, this would be my go to spot for late night munches. There’s usually no line unless you go for lunch, but either way you shouldn’t expect to wait too long. Their sandwiches are made fresh and they’re generous on the portions. They have tons of different options to choose from. Trust me when I say this… this beats all the other sub places out there. Yes, I’m talking about Subway, Quizno’s, etc… BUT…Jimmy John’s and Eegee’s are other sandwich places I fell in love with in Tucson, so those are the exceptions. The Cripple Creek and Homestake were my other regular sandwiches I would typicaly order. Oh, and Silver Mine is open until 3AM! And they deliver! Score!

The sandwiches are okay. I hate how they use this weird avocado spread instead of real avocado. Keep a look out for their $ 1.99 medium sub specials on Eat Street. The medium sub is huge and a great value for $ 1.99. I wouldn’t feel comfortable spending any more, and I don’t.

I don’t know where to start between the bad service and the bad bread. Basically it’s all bad. The only reason I give it 2 stars is for their price deals. $ 2 for a sub is not bad, but honestly I wouldn’t even pay that. First time I had a sub it was ok. Bread was pretty weak, tasted bland and was definitely old. Second time I ordered one for delivery during one of their $ 2 deals. I waited 45 min. and couldn’t wait any longer because I had to go to class so I called them to cancel the order and they were very unaccommodating. They said the sandwich was about to be sent out. I’m sorry, but I don’t have that kind of time for such a poor sandwich.

They are never busy when I go there, meaning there is no line and no waiting time. Very friendly staff, too. Their sandwiches are very affordable. I pay $ 4.something for a small sub(which is 6 inches, I think). Not sure if this is their general policy or if I am just lucky, but they always put a lot of meat on my subs, more than other places. I would say the ratio of meat to veggies on the subs I get there is 1:1. As for the taste, their chicken is delicious. The veggies are okay, all seem fresh. The bread, however, is just meh. They only have two choices of bread(white and whole wheat), both of which taste like toast, very soft, too sweet. I wish they had a sour dough option. That’s why I only give four out of five starts. Overall, this is a good place to quickly grab something for lunch when you are in a hurry and don’t want to spend much money.
