What a friendly place to shop for Art Supplies! You don’t walk out of this store feeling like you irritated the staff! Fun place to shop!

Super expensive. The only person who really knows anything is Frank. If you have to go there and want a knowledgable answer or art advice ask for Frank.

Now maybe my opinion is just biased, I am going to pull out my old timer card and say they used to be sooooo much better. Since moving up the street their stock is worse, their prices(already high due to university location) are even higher. Sadly I will have to recommend Sarnoff art supplies(on campbell near grant) or Arizona art supplies(on oracle and wetmore)

Posner’s is the best place for all of your art supplies needs. The staff is friendly and courteous and will always help by giving an opinion or suggesting new ideas. I very much enjoy their company, and find them to be capable and hard-working, honest people. It’s hard to beat their ideal location, and that, coupled with their amazing canvas prices make Posner’s a jewel of Tucson. I don’t know what I’d do if Posner’s went out of business. No one can compare.

I had to pick up some supplies for my basic design class and this store was nice enough to set up a deal for my teacher’s class. They had an art kit specifically designed to the class and was discounted. I was helped immediately as soon as I walked through the door and everything went smooth. They even let me check the bag at checkout to make sure everything was in order. Great service and if parking wasn’t so bad like t usually is in the university area, I would probably go there all the time for my art supplies. The supplies are high quality and have been easy to use in my class. The store inside looked of wide variety but I didn’t get a chance to frolic through it’s 2 story land of art which is highly disappointing but I highly recommend you try this place out for any art supplies you may need!

Posners Art Store has been around, so I hear, for forever. I’ve only recently started going — maybe 4 or 5 years ago — and I *do* love it. They carry a lot of supplies for artists — paint, pencils, paper, canvas’, easels, and so on. They give the students at the local university a place to find what they need. They give me a feeling of being a «real» artist even though I just dabble. Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing you’re buying from a local place and not some chain store. Now, that said — I *do* buy a lot of supplies from a chain store. I can’t help it. The price is just a lot better(almost always). And with Posner’s new location right in the middle of congestion central(made doubly bad with current Trolley construction) it makes it a lot less«fun» to go shopping here. Then again, cruising the aisles of Posner’s is just… fun. There are SO many choices and the staff is always super helpful and friendly. And the new store *does* look really nice, with the upstairs loft area and a few sitting couches. So Posner’s — for doing what you do, I’d give you 5 stars. But since price IS a factor, I’m bumping you to 4. I will keep coming back because I love to support local business’ and I love the vibe I get here. But as with any shopping, it pays to shop around for a deal.

Is this place still in business? I can understand how UA art students, especially those without cars would like it for it’s proximity. I on the other hand never had a good or worthwhile experience there. I think the only thing I ever bought from then was conte crayons. They don’t offer a student discount, but a punch card…(Correction: I’ve read in other reviews that they do offer a discount. But this is hearsay.) The whole store is sorta archaic in it’s business practices. I think the last time I was there even with their help I got the wrong item and had to return it.(They did take it back, which I guess is a plus.) Go to Sarnoff if you can, it’s worth it.

This is one of the best art stores in town. Mom & pop setting but with quality products at affordable prices. The framing section is where the real savings are. Frank, an amazing artist and framer always hooks up my projects! Best part are the warm and fuzzies of shopping local!

Okay, I returned for a second visit. The lady who was working there was super super super super friendly and attentive to my needs. I asked her if I would receive a student discount since I’m attending an art school, she clarified that I would. It just so happened that the first visit was a mistake on another employee’s part. Anyhow… I will definitely return to this store to buy more supplies if needed. Again, the woman was super friendly!

Have Frank do your framing while you shop an enormous, thoughtful selection of supplies for the serious oil painter, the découpage dabbler and the water color master. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the framing is high. Most of all, the customer service is fantastic. These folks know their stuff.
