Wow no wonder there is no one here on a weekend. Very over priced and the clientele is very old and not what you hope to meet on a weekend. I would never come back here please don’t waste your time!!!

Always wanted to check the place out because of my new love for country music and I love to dance, even though I really can’t. Met a friend here who’s a regular for $ 1 beer night. Sat at the bar the whole night and never danced but it just wasn’t my night. Everyone looked like they were having a blast. The bartenders were awesome. The band was great and performed a lot of songs I could sing to. I do intend to go back to have the full experience!

Went there first time a week ago and my first impression was old, crowded, and not very clean. The front door location and restroom are very close and the avenue to get through the crowd is a tough job. The bar staff is bad I practically had to pop a flare to get them to see me waving my hands for service they don’t work the whole bar. The bar needs to be opened up. The wall separating the dance floor with the bar needs to be removed. Positive note: the band playing that night was not bad they mixed it up a bit and vocals were good. I also liked that there was no limitation on what you could or couldn’t wear. You got a mix of western wear, casual, or semi casual

want to 2 step the night away to country music? COMETOMAVERICK, people of all ages come here and as a girl I really appreciated how polite and gentlemen like the men are here there’s a $ 5 cover charge even for girls but the drinks are cheap so i didn’t mind NO drinks allowed on the dance floor so you can two step or line dance on a non-sticky floor NOTE: I’ve heard Maverick is more popular on Fridays & Denim and Diamond is more popular on Saturdays(however Maverick trumps Denim&Diamond any day!)

Every time I’m there it’s a great time. The bartenders, drinks and music are all great. I’ve been there for a few country concerts and they know how to pack the house. Overall it’s a great time for a night out!

Interesting place. The music was good but the dancing was very odd. All they did was two step. Even when the band played waltzes, horseshoes, Cha cha’a, etc. there was no etiquette on the floor. Everyone was running in to each other like bumper cars. There needs to be dance lessons so everyone knows how to dance partner dances properly. Servers were very good, friendly and came by often.

My all time favorite place to grab dinner or a drink after work! An authentic country bar and grill with a down to earth staff and crowd. It is easy to see that their customers are the primary focus. A lively joint with so much culture, it will bring the country roots out of anyone! As a dancer, it is the place to go. Most everyone is there to actually dance and have a good time. The prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable, especially for the quality you are receiving. It deserves five stars all the way!

Saw the Little River Band. I have a new found love for seeing bands from my childhood in a more intimate setting and this place did the trick. Anyplace that can stick around for 50+ years has to be doing something right. Stood at the bar until we made our way out on the dance floor. Staff was nice, good times! I will for sure be keeping an eye out on upcoming shows.

My favorite bar! Country dancing and cheap beer! $ 5 cover but ur beer is $ 1 so can’t complain much. Get there early on a Friday because there will be a line and there will be no where to sit after 10. Best place to go to learn how to dance as well.

If this is the best Tucson has to offer, it’s unfortunate. The crowd — Good. Decent mix, mostly older early as with any bar, younger arrive later. But it’s too small to handle such a large crowd. The dance floor/dancing — Very small, too crowded. Some decent dancers and some that run around the floor acting the fool. Big props for all the two-stepping though as most country bars play way too many line dances and not enough couples dancing. Service — No complaints. The Band — OMG. It was like a cat screeching on the top of a fence at midnight while you’re trying to sleep. They were the only reason I had to get out of there. The mix of songs was good, but my word the lead singer’s voice was worse than finger nails on a chalk board. I’d go back to check out another band, but never again with«Flipside» on stage. Sorry guys.

Definitely the best country bar in Tucson. I always have so much fun here! The only bad thing I have to say about it, is the lines are RIDICULOUS. If you don’t get there by 9:00 on Friday nights, prepare to wait in line for at least an hour. The wait is almost justifiable though, this bar is such a blast,

Just recently stayed in Tucson for a few weeks and went out to the bars and stuff down on 4th, i.e. The Wreck, O’Malley’s and Maloney’s, Cactus Moon and a few other wanna be country bars. None of these compare to the scene that is here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good security, great crowd thats open and willing to teach or help you learn a 2 step or line dance. Service was good and fast. Band on stage played a well mixed variety of country and the dj played mixed it up nicely as well. Got a chance to actually speak with the owner and nothing but friendly and open. But if you want to find your country roots and have a little fun two-stepping with beautiful women or men, this is the place to do it in Tucson.

Disastrous New Year’s Eve. They charged a pretty penny at the door, which you would normally expect when you sit at a table and have service, but there were no tables and not even a place to lean on at the bar, nor a standing table. Therefore, it was also nearly impossible to get service. By 10 p.m. they had closed the kitchen. So what did we pay so much for?(Now simulate spitting tobacco on them.)

This bar deserves a solid four stars for the people watching alone. From the moment I stepped through the doors of this lively bar, I felt like I had stepped into the scene of a 1980’s cowboy movie. A traditional country band played from the stage(none of this modern country music) and some very traditional cowboys led their cowgirls around the dance floor. If you ever want to witness a real cowboy, just stop by Maverick for a drink. I heard that U of A students like to pay this spot a visit but I didn’t witness any college kids while I was there, so therefore my experience here is 100% cowboy. The bar itself is pretty spacious and has three different bars serving alcohol. There is plenty of seating, a food menu and plenty of entertainment. This should most definitely be on anyone’s stop during their bar hopping de Tucson.

You have to go at least once. There is a good live band on the weekends. If you don’t have a dance partner, there are plenty of people who will ask you to dance in a non-creepy way and who will teach you how to dance. It is super fun to watch the really good dancers(that doesn’t include me) and if you are a so-so dancer(that includes me), it is a comfortable place to learn to dance. I would recommend going here over the Cactus moon because the atmosphere is more relaxed.

I was pretty happy with this place. I’m not much for the country music dance hall scene, but this bar had a pretty good setup. I counted 2 or 3 bars in this place, which is great for this place because it isn’t gigantic, but it’s nice to not have to wait in line at only one bar(the place wasn’t crowded, but there was quite a few people). The wait staff came by early and often refilling beers with no hesitation. Oh and did I mention dollar beers? I’ll be going back, just don’t expect to see me out there 2-steppin’(I suppose that depends on how many beers I actually have).

This place is chill. This was my first time there and they played lots of country music that I did like. A friend of mine says that the younger crowd goes there at a later time. I stayed there from 8 to maybe 10 or 1030 and enjoyed my dollar drafts when it was not too busy. The waitress was very attentive and was always there to get another round for a group, which was nice, because I did not have to leave my seat and wait at the bar. I hope next time I go, I will be able to get on the dance floor. The group I was with seemed a bit apprehensive about it. The band is great, so if you like the country dance scene, I would definitely recommend coming here.
