A great place to check out a bunch of bands in an all-in-one venue. KFMA Day starts out with some smaller bands and works its way up to the favorites. This year it was Cake and The Killers. It’s a long day of fun, but even in May can get quite hot. Make sure to take a break in the shade and grab some water between sets. Once you get in front of the stage it is SWELTERING between the sun and all the people. We saw one person pass out this year, pay attention to hydration! There’s tons of vendors with food and drink to fill your time wandering in the shade. The BBQ and Greek vendors have been there both times I’ve gone and are delicious! Make sure to also check out the area to the right of the entrance, behind the band merchandise tent. I missed it the first concert, but checked it out this time and entered into a few raffles and scored some great freebies. Can’t beat free Eegees on a hot day! Feel free to also steal a seat in the stands for a while. We took a break once it started getting dark and had a great time chatting with some of the people in the stands. KFMA also sponsors Fall Ball later on in the year. Same set up, but with generally more heavy metal oriented bands.

Kfma day this year was a success! I’m a big concert-goer and I appreciate when a big event is well planned and thought out. My group arrived about half way through the day, but parking was a breeze, and the entrance lines moved quickly. No unnecessary waiting! There were plenty of stands selling beer, and although $ 5 a beer is still up charging, it’s still really cheap for a concert. I didn’t have any food, but they had several vendors and food seemed to be coming out quickly. Cake and the Killers put on a great show and were definitely my favorites of the day. The sound quality could have been better, but that’s probably due to the outside venue more than anything else. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the lineup next year!
