Absolutely useless store. I called ahead and reserved an item for them to put on hold at the front so that I could pick it up a couple hours later. I drove 30 minutes and went to the check out. They sold what they put on hold for me to someone else. Manager did nothing but say they would get another shipment in next week. Terrible business that wasted an hour of my time and a lot of gas. I’m speechless for what to say about how they run their business.

I hate writing critical reviews on places like this, but I was unable to find a way to contact a manager at this store so hopefully this review makes it to his or her eyes. Yesterday I was in the store looking for a ¼ in Piecing foot made by Singer. The Joann’s website indicated that there were 2 available at this location, so I made the 20 minute drive to pick it up. When I got there they didn’t have any on the shelf. I asked the woman at the fabric counter if she could check in the back for me, to which she replied something like, «We have too much inventory back there; it’s buried. It would take a couple of days.» I was shocked at her complete unwillingness to help. I went up to the front and asked the sweet lady at the register, Pat, if there was anyone that could look in the back for me, as the website indicated that there were indeed 2 of those sewing machine foots at their store. She asked over the radio if anyone could look, then she told me they were looking but that it would be awhile. I thanked her and told her I would wait. I stood in that store for 30 minutes waiting. No one checked in with me to assure me they were still looking, or that they had looked and couldn’t find it. Finally, I checked back with Pat, who at this point was very busy with a long line of customers, to see if they had done anything. After checking over her radio again, she told me that they said«it’s buried» and I would have to check back in a couple of days. She asked me if I wanted them to take down my name and # and have them call me when they found it, but at that point I was so livid I declined. It was clear that no one even attempted to look for this item for me. Not once did anyone apologize for the poor service I received, or the fact that I had been standing there for 30 minutes with my newborn in tow. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience at this store. A few months back I ordered a Silhouette machine here. This was another instance where the website indicated this location had the machine and I went to the store and no one could find it. Since it was on sale I had them order it and I paid for it at the sale price they had listed. When I had my husband pick it up at first they couldn’t find it. Then they had him pay for it at the full price, even though I had already purchased it at the sale price! He called me in the parking lot afterwards and I promptly send him back to get our money refunded. This place is like a circus! And not in a fun way. How can an item be listed as «in stock» if the employees will not, or cannot retrieve it for a customer. Joann’s seems to always be low on staff(not just this store) but I’ve never seen such poor service at other locations. These employees either need to be trained better or scheduled better so they can get their inventory out on the floor.

I’m not going to stop going here but I do have to say that the customer service is lacking. At least at the registers. I was there yesterday and the line was so long because there was only one cashier and she was moving at a snails pace. Call another salesperson to help if you have a line of 20 people waiting! I’ve also been there another time and waited 15 minutes while one customer was yapping and checking every possible source for coupons. If you have people waiting and have a difficult customer– you should know what coupons are available, use them and get them out of the store. There is one girl there– long hair always a strange color and a slight unibrow… She’s excellent and has always been so accommodating and has provided myself and my mother excellent service. She obviously knows what she’s doing unlike some people there. I always feel as if they are understaffed. I work in High end retail and I know what good customer service is and that’s not having a huge line while you stare dumbfoundedly at someone trying to score a deal on on something already on sale when you should be the expert.

Like the other reviewers, I have had to wait an extraordinary long time to check out here. I’d recommend self-checkout here, since the cashiers often take a long time to check people out. At least a few times I have had to leave the line and go because I’d have to be somewhere else, and usually I’d have over $ 100 of items in my cart. For instance, I’ve been in line as the third person waiting, and I’d see the one cashier just chatting it up with the customer. The line slowly got longer and longer, but she continued to chat away. After a solid 7 minutes, I just gave up and left. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s deterred by their incredibly slow cashiers. It’s too bad, because they have a pretty good selection and great deals. I’d rather go somewhere else since time is not something I want to waste.

I had a picture framed and it took over 5 weeks to finish. No one ever called to let me know what was going on. I had to call each week to get another reason for the delay. Worst service ever!!!

I love the experience of being in fabric stores. I takes me back to my childhood growing up with a seamstress mother and wandering around, touching and evaluating all the fabrics and yarns, daydreaming about things they could become. I usually seem to end up waiting in line for a VERY long time to check out at this stores. This is, of course, not the employees fault, but the fault of a company who tries to run things with minimal expense devoted to staffing. It’s a common big business tactic. And of course, there are many things there that seem very overpriced. I am usually there looking for knitting/crocheting supplies, but I’ve also started shopping online for that stuff because you can find the same products for much cheaper. Though it is hard to evaluate color and texture unless you can actually see the product. I shop at Jo-Ann’s, I will continue to go there. But waiting in line forever is annoying and I often do find things much cheaper online.

A very nice location. Typically pretty desolate inside, but they have some really great sales and helpful employees. I highly suggest downloading the Joanne’s app! They have great coupons.
